QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) rearranging his dorm for bunks That was pretty smart. Gives you a lot more room in such cramped quarters. Makes the room feel bigger and, in turn, more inviting/cozy. Anyway, I moved in to my fraternity house a few days ago and I'm loving my room. It took like two days to get settled in and have everything how my roommate and I want it, but it looks great now. Everyone says it seems like it could be a real room in someone's house, not a room in a fraternity house, so I guess that's a good compliment.

I can't believe Paulie wasn't in there to PH...

Nice little catch out there by Owens to end the inning. 0-3... Let's hope the offense shows up today!

590 The Fan - OF Rick Ankiel Gets The Call
dasox24 replied to CardsJimEdmonds15's topic in The Diamond Club
I love Ankiel so much. How could you not root for this guy after what he has gone through? I loved having him here in Memphis to watch, but it was about damn time they called him up. This guy is just a flat out baseball player. I mean, how many guys have started as both a pitcher and an OF in the big leagues? -
I've used both bar soap and liquid body wash, and I much prefer the bar soap. I use Irish Spring something or other.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 06:03 PM) This thread makes me reconsider my plan on going into journalism. You could always still minor in Journalism and still have the option to go into that field. After this Fall, I'll only need 12 hours to get my Journalism minor.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) No classes before 10:00 AM as a freshman is nearly unheard of from my experience. I didn't have a class until 12:15 on MWF my frosh year, and 11:15 on T/Thurs.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 05:54 PM) Broadcasting Major COM 101 - Concepts of Communications (Mon/Wed/Fri - 10:00-10:50 AM) LIB 100 - Liberal Arts Intro (Tue/Thu - 4:00-5:15 PM) MTH 110 - Algebra (Mon/Wed - 12:00-12:50 PM) WRT 150 - Strategies in Writing (Tue - 12:00-1:50 PM) Nicely done, especially for a freshman. Are you sure that math is only M/W, though? Seems odd.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 05:48 PM) Don't worry Beastly, I'm sure there are tons of other people like you in all colleges. Some people just like to lay back and chill instead of going to a bunch of parties all the time. I get in those moods too when all I want to do is watch some movies or play 360 for hours on end...and if ever there was a place to do that, college is that place. No doubt. I mean, I go out a lot, but I also have some times when introvert qualities come out and I just wanna sit and watch some movies and play video games, on a Saturday night no less. I've had a Friday night when I blacked out and the next night I watched the Back to the Future series b/c they all came back to back to back on TV. You gotta get out of the dorm room at least some so you don't go crazy (or make your roommate crazy b/c you're always there, lol), but there's absolutely nothing wrong with staying in and playing video games. It's actually pretty fun when you have parties in the dorms, too, and they happen quite often, so don't always think you have to go to an off-campus house/apt. or bar. You can just walk down the hall and something will be going on. p.s. this is advice directed toward beastly; I just quoted your post, slav, b/c I liked what you had to say

QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 01:42 PM) supposedly david robinson grew 5 inches while at the naval academy, which is why he didnt have to serve his 5 years...too tall Yeah, I think he was a guard until, like, the end of high school, which is why he had pretty good passing/dribbling skills for a big man.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) I know I'm not the only one going into college this month. Where you going? When do you move in? What you majoring in? I'll be entering my freshman year at Grand Valley State University (Back to back NCAA DIV II Football Champs) and I'm moving back the 22nd of August. 1st day of school is on my birthday, the 27th. Oh, and I'm majoring in Broadcasting. Congrats, man, on going to GVSU. I think it was you that started a thread last summer about looking at colleges and Grand Valley was one of your top choices, so I'm glad you're getting to go there. College is awesome. I hope you really enjoy your first year b/c nothing beats living in the dorms with so many other guys to hang out with whenever. My advice: Work hard, play hard. That's the best way to maximize having fun with keeping good grades.

I'd just like to thank Blake for stepping up to do the interview when the rest of the FS guys were busy with other commitments. Good stuff, my friend.

NOTICE: This post has nothing to do with the White Sox Well, I went to the West TN Diamond Jaxx vs. TN Smokies game tonight (with my buddy who is a huge cubs fans), so we could see Kerry Wood make his final rehab appearance. Anyway, I got a bunch of pics of ol' Kerry, who looked very sharp tonight, though obviously not throwing as hard as he once did (his 4-seam stayed in the 94 mph range and his 2-seamer ~91 mph). He did throw a curve that was just sick. One of those complete knee-bucklers; hitter had no chance. And here's just another picture of 3B Matt Tuiasasopo facing Grant Johnson (ND alum) in the 9th. Both names are pretty familiar, so I though people might care somewhat...

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 10:53 PM) Well, you can just go fellate yourself. Where's the DSL coverage anyways? Haha. I didn't think anyone cared about the DSL coverage... Well, unless of course we're talking about a different DSL, and in that case I think lot's of guys would be interested in that.

From the Tribune: Looks like we combined Ryan Wing and Royce Ring to get a pretty solid pitcher... Seriously, he probably won't ever get to the bigs, but Wing has done a fantastic job this year for Birmingham.

Well, good to see DLS pitching again. Hopefully, he'll be starting again before no time. OMGrosso had a pretty good start. 7.1, 2 hits, 2 ER, 7 k's And unfortunately, Erstad and Sweeney both 0-3 so far. Erstad is a stellar 6-38 (.158) so far in AAA.
