QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) Always the sluts. Definitely the sluts... No, but seriously, Cerb is right. Getting the opportunity to interview Lucas Harrell and Adam Russell last summer was awesome. I've tried to hook up other interviews, and though at first got a good initial response, nothing ever materialized b/c these players are busy too. With both Russell and Harrell, we talked on the phone for like 45 minutes (mainly b/c they're great interviews) during their interviews and that's a long time considering these guys have practice and a lot of other things to do in their spare time. I mean, Harrell made his AA debut just a few hours after we talked. I was amazed that he even wanted to take that much time to chat with us.

It's weird to think I've been posting on these boards since I was in middle school (now in college) when it was Soxnet.net... I'd really like to thank all those moderators/admins, especially Jason, who do a splendid job of keeping this place awesome and for giving us a place to talk about, well, whatever we want to!

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) Fox revealed in a November 2005 interview with FHM magazine that she has Brian's name tattooed above her vagina.[3] Damn, I wonder if she got that before or after they started dating... But, really, come on... Why would you ever get someone else's name tattooed on yourself? I mean, what happens if they break up in a few years, and she's 24 with some dude's name tattooed on her. I guess I'd still hit it, but that would be a little odd for future boyfriends to have to see that...

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) If it has Megan Fox in it..... it has my attention! True dat... Unfortunately, I looked on imdb.com and found out she's engaged to some no-talent assclown who's like 34

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) Agreed. it rocked. i really enjoyed it. I loved the little "inside" jokes throughout. Like the bug sitting next to the camero at the dealership. that was great! They're working on a sequel! I am so excited! It definitely seemed like there could be a sequel. Great to hear... Though, sequel's are rarely as good as the first. Let's hope this one's different!

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 06:11 PM) I saw that this was in the catch all thread but I figured it deserved its own. Joey Chestnut brings the esteemed Mustard belt back to the states where it belongs. Kobayashi blames loss on the Grand Jury's crack down on performance enhancing drugs and a late night at Scores with Pacman....details to follow as they come. Way to go Chestnut!

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 05:01 AM) Transformers was awesome. No doubt. I really didn't expect too much, but wanted to see it b/c it was "Transformers" afterall. But, I was so pleasantly surprised at how awesome the movie was. The special effects were great, the action scenes were great, and the movie was actually pretty funny.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 03:57 AM) His quotes about giving 150% on everything, no matter what sounded just like the character from Bedazzled. I really didn't like that movie all that much, but that scene was pretty funny.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 07:31 PM) Check out his Baseball Cube page - he seems like an interesting story. Very pedestrian college numbers, undrafted, try-out to make the team... and his numbers at every minor league level above Rookie ball have been fantastic. Yeah, actually, I wrote a nice little article about Wasserman for FutureSox about 2 summers ago. However, I tried finding it and I can't.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) I am going to add one more... Ehren Wassermann to take Bukvich's spot on the big club If Wassermann were to ever make it to the bigs, it would be quite a story going from just showing up at an open tryout in which only a few guys (out of a couple hundred) were signed to pitching in the majors. He couldn't do worse than Bukvich, right?

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 05:24 AM) correct me if I am wrong, but LaRussa isn't the Cards gm. You're right. Walt Jocketty is... However, SSI was just saying that the Cards wouldn't go after someone if the manager of the team really doesn't like him. I mean, if Ozzie were to say he didn't want a certain player, why would KW acquire him since all it would do is probably cause problems?

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 02:52 AM) Listening to ESPN radio over the weekend I heard that the Cardinals are not intersted in Buehrle at all because Tony LaRussa doesn't think much of him. Supposedly Jockety asked LaRussa if they should go after him and LaRussa said no because he doesn't think much of him. They are not in it to trade for him or sign him during the off season. So I don't care what I keep hearing about the Cardinals and what they are offering for Buehrle, I just don't believe it. I don't think they are after him or are offering anything at all. I think it is just reporters dreaming things up. I don't recall who said this or what show it was on. I believe Carmen DiFalco's show. Maybe Buehrle and his agent know this as well and if the only places Buehrle wants to pitch is here and St. Louis. If St. Louis doesn't want him then his only choice is here. This may be why he is so intent on re-signing here. I bet the Sox get a deal done with him and soon. Damn, LaRussa is stupid then. If he doesn't think much of Buehrle, then I guess he does think highly of Kip Wells and his 6.30 ERA... Hey, I'm not complaining, though. If they don't want him, great for us!

Hahaha, that would be an awful trade. We'd be 100x better off taking the compensatory draft picks.

Way to go, Big Guy! Definitely expected, but impressive nonetheless.

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) My favorite part of that whole situation was when his daughter came out in her undies and he told Garrity he better not put her in his spank bank. Oh man, that was f'n hilarious. Stuff like that is why I love this show. As for the Chief, the whole way that last scene played out, I could just tell what was going to happen, but I was praying it wouldn't...

Awesome stuff right there. Thanks for posting that... And to think that just two years ago he was pitching for Great Falls, and now is one of the best LOOGY's in the big leagues. -
The Illini added another commit in 6'4'' 292 lb. Ryan Sedlacek (Guard/Center) from Connecticut. And although it happened like two days ago, I didn't see Ashante Williams' commitment mentioned on here. He's a 5'10'' 190 lb. CB from Ohio that has great size and speed. Fits perfectly what Illinois is looking for at the CB spot. Here's a pic of him. He's pretty jacked for a high school CB. Btw, look who's in the background.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 05:17 AM) Most likely offseason: Podsednik - Erstad - Rowand: ~$3.25M, $3.25M, ~$6M = $12.5M Crede - Eckstein - Richar - Konerko - Thome - Pierzynksi: ~$5M, $5M, $400K, $12M, ~$7.6M, $5.5M= $35.5M Garland - Vazquez - Floyd - Gio - ?: $12M, $11.5M, $400K, $400K, ? = $24.7M - $30M - $38.7M = $72.7M - $78M - $86.7M + ~$4M Bench + ~$3.5M Bullpen = $80.2M - $85.5M - $94.2M ? = $400K (rookie), $5.7M (mediocre FA), $14M (Buehrle) I assume leaving Danks out of the rotation was an oversight.

6'10'' 225 lb PF Terrence Jennings (#9 overall/#4 PF in '08) out of Mt. Zion Academy in Durham, NC has listed Illinois in his Top 3 along with Washington and Maryland. Can you imagine if Illinois was to land a Top 10 national recruit right out of Duke's backyard? Go get 'em, Bruce! I think our '05 National Championship appearance as well as the years before of being pretty dominant in the Big 10 has had a big effect on these young guys coming up.
