    QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 04:53 AM) Oceans 13- Jumps around alot, I liked it and it was better than #2 but I wouldnt rank it as high as getting close to better than the first of the set. Funny movie and well put together but I just feel Im paying for a somewhat obvious ending. I really did like Ocean's 13. I'll agree with your assessment that's it's better than #2, but not as good as #1. But, then again, what sequel or threequel is ever better than (or even as good as) the original? Not many, so it didn't disappoint me at all. It did jump around a lot, but that's just the nature of the movie. I really want to watch it again when it comes out on DVD, so I can try to catch more of what's going on.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 01:50 AM) I think I've gained about 50 pounds the last 2 days. I think I've lost weight since I came home from school in early May, mainly due to two reasons: eating much healthier food than Cafeteria food, and I'm working outside 5-6 days a week and am constantly on the go.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) If I knew you personally I would walk over to your house and offer you 500 dollars....... Seperate statement from the bet statement - as long as we are talking semantics. You seem to be sooooooo very confident that it won't happen - then what do you have to lose. I never once said I was confident in that. I actually stated that is what he is worth and what they should be looking for. Pack up your manhood buddy. That's a damn shame. Okay, bud, taking this whole "bet" thing a little too far. It's a message board! People say things like that all the time. He didn't literally mean what he said. It was an exaggeration to make a point.
  4. As much as I don't want us to win b/c I don't want KW thinking we have a shot to make the playoffs and keeping all our old guys, I couldn't help but root for us to pull that one out. I guess when it comes down to it, I just don't like losing.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 05:17 AM) I agree with you on Buehrle and the COunt. Again with Guerra. f*** him - what is the bid deal with him? There is no way anyone could possibly know what he is. If all they get is Milledge and Guerra well then they are screwed. That is a f***ed up deal. I hope you understand that either way (if we trade Buehrle or not) we'll be getting back young prospects in return. It seems like you don't like the idea of Mark leaving, but if you'd be pissed about a Milledge/Guerra trade, then you sure as hell would be angry if we kept mark and got 2 draft picks, neither of which would have the upside of a #12 overall draft pick like Milledge.
  6. I'm okay with the trade. How's that for analysis? Seriously, though, as much as I was beginning to love Cunningham as a prospect, he's still just that: a prospect. Every other reason for feeling the way I do about this trade has already been stated (i.e. OF'ers are easier to come by, Richar fills a more dire need, we need a better backup plan than Getz if Iguchi leaves in FA), so I'll just leave it at that.
  7. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 03:14 AM) Didn't go to the game, but the I-Flubs lost again. Rick FOCKING Ankiel hit 3 more home runs to increase his total to 19. Ankiel has been tearing it up for Memphis this year. He's, hands down, the best player on the team. To think that he could be such a good, young pitcher (until his head got F'd up), and now be a really good position player is pretty awesome. Shows how good of an athlete that man is. I don't think he'll ever make it back to the bigs, but I wish he would b/c he's really a good guy and would be one of the better pitchers in the game right now if not for his mental breakdown after that one awful playoff game.
  8. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 03:11 AM) Brandon Allen up to .277 after his 5-6 performance, maybe he's finally living up to his potential. I hope so. Allen has really been heating up recently and let's hope he keeps it up. He's only 21 still, so he's young enough to be considered a prospect. If he could end the year in the .285-.290 range, he may be back on the prospect radar.
  9. Well, Logan Johnson just went yard again an inning later. 2-run shot to the same spot as his 1st HR.
  10. Logan Johnson just went yard, putting Louisville up 6-4 over Rice in the 4th. Hit a rocket out to RF.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) Swim technique! Crab legs... and pinchers
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 23, 2004 -> 01:44 AM) Note to self: Bookmark this thread -- Bring back up in 2007, after sox win the series.
  13. QUOTE(bulokis @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 05:55 PM) KW should find a way to trade Contreras(if he waived his NTC) and Vazquez. We should try to keep MB as much as possible and have Mark, Jon and Danks as our core for next year. I don't like the idea of trading Vazquez. He has a reasonable contract (in this day and age) for how he's pitching, and we'd be hard pressed to find another pitcher capable of putting up his #'s for what we're paying him. Obviously, it's possible to sign a guy to a low deal, and then have him turn into a stud (like Loaiza a few years ago), but it's highly unlikely.
  14. I must agree about Ichiro. I would absolutely love having him on the team. But, of all the teams out there, what are the chances he'd come to the Southside when he could go to NY, Boston, LA, or someone that's guaranteed to pay him way more than we could? KW has never gotten a player of Ichiro's caliber thru free agency, so I'll believe it when I see it.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) Maybe, maybe not. We won that year because of pitching and we still would of had Buehrle, Garcia, Garland, and Contreras. Might not of had El Duque but he has a pretty dissapointing season anyways and was injured for a large part, besides that one inning vs the redsox I would say he would have been a dissapointment. B-Mac probably would have been the replacement guy for him that year. Than we would still have Cotts, Politte, Jenks, and Hermanson who were the main guys in the bp. "Maybe, maybe not" is right. Who knows how that team would have done? Well, we do know that the '05 team did win it all, so would you really take back those offseason moves in lieu of maybe winning the WS with the old team of Maggs, Lee, etc.? Not saying it's not possible, but there was just something about that '05 team: it had spunk, charisma, etc. that I don't think you'd have seen out of Carlos Lee, for example. Plus, we probably wouldn't have signed AJP and definitely wouldn't have had World Series MVP Jermaine Dye.
  16. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) No, the Indians didn't suck. They lost. There's a difference. I don't know how they lost so many games last year. It's a mystery to a lot of people. "Suck" is what we're doing now, what the Nationals do, what the Royals do. Lose is what the Yankees are doing, and what the Indians did. Big difference. Well, I'll tell you who did suck horribly: the '05 Tigers. No one predicted them to do any better than 4th/5th in the AL Central last year, and now look at them. It's definitely possible to turn it around in one year with some roster overhaul, in the way of adding a couple good vets thru FA/trade, and some young guns thru trading some of our older guys at the trade deadline.
  17. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 08:54 AM) Dan, I just wanted to let you know all your minor league updates are really apperciated. Yes they are
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 04:35 AM) If the Cards were willing to make that deal I wouldn't even hesitate in accepting it. I really don't think Contreras has that sort of trade value at this point in time but I've been wrong before, I think. Agreed. Rasmus would be a sweet addition to the farm system if all we had to do was give up Contreras.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 04:23 AM) Sidney Ponson Exactly. I just don't understand why it doesn't happen more often.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 04:19 AM) God dam right I'm going to ask for a s***load...no starter (unless Zambrano is dealt) will even come close to being what Buehrle is and if the Yanks want him (and they will likely be desperate) than they need to give up a lot. I should also note, if the club moves Buehrle, I want it to than push incredibly hard at signing Zambrano or another very good starter in the offseason (which again makes no sense, since Buehrle will sign a more affordable deal and probably be willing to take 5 years). The key to me is having a rotation of Garland/Vazquez/Buehrle or Zambrano or another front line guy/Danks/Gio or Floyd or Prospect Acquired. Maybe we could just sign Buerhle at the end of the season In all seriousness, I wonder why that never happens: A player that's been with a team for a long time gets traded in his FA year, and then signs with that team again in the offseason as a way to help the team acquire talent. If I played for the White Sox and knew we weren't going anywhere this year, I'd go to another team for 1/2 a year, so the Sox could get great young talent, and then just resign with them in the offseason.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 04:14 AM) Ringless That's what I was thinking. No matter how bad we are this year, I wouldn't trade giving up Lee, Maggs, etc. for anything b/c it allowed us to spend $$$ elsewhere and put together the pieces that led to our World Championship.
  22. I'd definitely be willing to trade Thome if the price was right. We'd have to get back some stud prospects, but a team like the Angels that could really use his bat would be willing to give those guys up since it wouldn't affect the big league club.
  23. I think Jason is right. By putting Buerhle on the market, he would the best pitcher available and maybe the best player available. Teams looking to win it all, like the Yanks, would be willing to give up a combo of Cabrera, Cano, and Kennedy b/c in the end, Kennedy's still a prospect, Cano would be replaced by Iguchi, and Melky could be replaced too without the Yanks losing too much.
  24. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 03:05 AM) I assume Clement would be involved with any trade with them. Ohh, what about Morrow... A deal with Morrow in it would be awesome. I'm not too sure about Clement right now since his BA is at .244 in AAA, worse than Anderson, Sweeney, etc. However, I might be intrigued if he's improved his defense. Anyone know if he has made strides in that department at all?
