As much as I don't want us to win b/c I don't want KW thinking we have a shot to make the playoffs and keeping all our old guys, I couldn't help but root for us to pull that one out. I guess when it comes down to it, I just don't like losing.

I'm okay with the trade. How's that for analysis? Seriously, though, as much as I was beginning to love Cunningham as a prospect, he's still just that: a prospect. Every other reason for feeling the way I do about this trade has already been stated (i.e. OF'ers are easier to come by, Richar fills a more dire need, we need a better backup plan than Getz if Iguchi leaves in FA), so I'll just leave it at that.

I'd definitely be willing to trade Thome if the price was right. We'd have to get back some stud prospects, but a team like the Angels that could really use his bat would be willing to give those guys up since it wouldn't affect the big league club.

I think Jason is right. By putting Buerhle on the market, he would the best pitcher available and maybe the best player available. Teams looking to win it all, like the Yanks, would be willing to give up a combo of Cabrera, Cano, and Kennedy b/c in the end, Kennedy's still a prospect, Cano would be replaced by Iguchi, and Melky could be replaced too without the Yanks losing too much.
