  1. 1) Disney movies (Lion King, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, etc.)... I watched a bunch of old Disney movies this past summer (right before leaving for college) and it really made me miss being a kid. 2) Watching kids interact with their dad/mom at the grocery store or somewhere like that - Man, I worshiped my dad when I was little, and I kinda miss those days when we'd just hang out and I didn't have school or anything else to worry about in the world. 3) Driving by my old elementary school 4) And more often than not, it's little things that happen that make me feel happy for my old childhood days.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 12:30 AM) I want the Bulls to draft Horford. You're not the only one. On TalkBulls, whenever there is draft talk, I'm always hyping up Horford. I just think he's going to be one hell of a player (like Carlos Boozer good or maybe better) and would be that true offensive post threat for the Bulls. I think he's far and away Florida's best player, especially after watching Florida play in person.
  3. I got a 48... Though Geography was my subject in grade school. I was in the "Geography Bee" year in and year out, lol..
  4. The number 32 (in general) will always have a special place in my heart, so I'm all for it! I love to see guys with that number have success, so good luck Mr. Anderson.
  5. I see Donald Veal is ranked at #52. This saddens me b/c we drafted him out of high school, but couldn't sign him, so he went to college, and now the Cubs have him... The only worse thing would have been if he landed with the Twins or Tigers, but still, it sucks knowing he could've been ours.
  6. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 02:06 AM) Someone doesnt watch a lot of Big 10 basketball. Welsh Ryan can be a really tough place to play for whatever reason. Wisconsin only won by 6, and OSU won by 9. Comparitively at home, OSU beat them by 30+ and Wisconsin won by 17. Naw, I do watch a good bit of Big 10 basketball. Not as much as I used to, but enough. I know all about Welsh Ryan. Still, it wasn't like NU played the game of their life and almost won (which is kinda what happened when they played Wisky/OSU; i.e. Jeff Ryan dropping 18 on Wisky. How often does he do that?)... NU played pretty poorly and IU just didn't take advantage. Man, I'm not gonna win this argument with all these Big 10 people on this board, so I guess I'll just stop. Indiana is a solid team, and I'll leave it at that.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 01:58 AM) Wilmont's the second best guy on the team; KW would call him a grinder if he played baseball. He does a lot of dirty work. Oh, whoops. Damn, I've watched a couple of Indiana games this year, and truthfully, I don't remember that guy at all.
  8. Okay, so Indiana looked highly unimpressive to me tonight. They barely got by a Northwestern team that is pretty bad and blew multiple chances all night to take a lead in the game. If not for some guy (Wilmont) that I've never heard of until that game playing the game of his life, they would've gotten stomped. Yes, I know every team has down games, but man, Indiana just did not look good besides Wilmont. Oh, and wow, Penn St. just upset Iowa. Great win for them.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 06:15 AM) That's what you get for doing homework. Anywho, basically he just went on and on about the selection committtee "throw out the rpi, get different committee members, pick the best 34 at large teams(forget numbers)" and other crap as well. Basically sounded like he wanted to change the whole selection process. The thing is when he says you should just get the 34 best teams, there is no actual way to do that. I'm not a big fan of numbers when it comes to sports as a whole BUT for selecting teams you have to go by numbers, the thing is all the major conference teams are on tv much more than the so called mid majors, so you're not going to get a fair subjective view as you're not going to see the small conference teams as much as some of the bigger conference teams. So basically, nothing major and something that is pretty pointless overall that I brought up for no reason, but there you go. I gotcha. Well, even though every year there are teams that are "snubbed" and very upset about being left out, for the most part the Committee gets it right. I really don't see a need for too much change. If anything, add more teams. But don't take away from the Mid-majors just b/c they play in a weak conference. Hell, if they didn't give mid-majors credit, would we have had George Mason in last year? Seriously, I don't know b/c I don't know if they won their conference tourney. lol... But, if they were an at-large, then I guarantee they don't make it in if they use Bilas' selection process (or at least how his process sounds from what you wrote).
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 05:57 AM) I usually like Bilas, but I wasn't a fan of his rant he gave on gamenight. Eh, I was doing my homework so I turned it off. What did he say exactly?
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 05:39 AM) After watching College Gamenight, I'm convinced that Jay Bilas should just pick the at large teams from now on. Actually, I agree, lol... Bilas is definitely my favorite analyst on ESPN, and I think he's extremely fair and unbiased, which is rare, especially considering he played at Duke. Most analysts tend to show their true colors, but Bilas never (or very rarely) does. As for my Vols beating Florida, how bout that whoopin!?!? Man, 25,000 strong in Thompson-Boling Arena was electric. I've been saying it all along, but Tennessee could really make some noise in the tourney. Chris Lofton missing those games mid-season turned out to probably be the best thing to happen to our team b/c it forced guys like Wayne Chism (who's a complete BADASS by the way) and Duke Crews to step up and learn to not totally rely on Lofton. I know all my fellow Illini fans (yes, I've loved Illinois since I was like 6, but I love Bruce Pearl too!) probably hate Tenn b/c of Bruce Pearl, but seriously, get over it. It's been like 15 years, and Pearl did his time. That single incident caused him to get his 1st major head coaching job about 10 years after he should have. You really can't argue with his style of play and coaching ability. It's damn fun to watch the full court press and all those turnovers caused by it.
  12. I'd have to say that Tennessee locked up a bid with their win today against Arkansas. They have a couple bad losses (South Carolina, Auburn), but too many good wins (Vandy, Memphis, Texas, OK St, Kentucky, Alabama) to not be in. I know I'm biased, but watch out for them come tourney time. Lofton can really light it up!
  13. QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 01:25 AM) sounds like dwight from the office. That would be something Dwight would do...
  14. Yeah, sometimes I just don't know what going on in athletes' heads. You get to play a game for a living and have a few games left on your contract, and then you're going to b**** about it!?!? Lame.

    Ever been on TV?

I was on TV last summer when I was interviewed by the NBC local news for a segment on summer jobs. Can't think of any other times at the moment.
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 06:14 AM) Go Gopheropoly (they were selling it at the front desk, I've yet to buy it since I'm jobless) haha, it's awesome playing a monopoly version of your own school! So much fun!
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 05:55 AM) ^^^ I pray they get this one right, because I need a new MLB game. Agreed. I really miss the old MVP, and the franchises I used to build into WS Champs! I always would play with the Sox when I'd first get games, and then after awhile, I'd take some team like the Pirates and try to turn them into a contender. I love doing that with crappy teams.
  18. QUOTE(GIOin08 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) that was a great read... I am shocked that Harrell didn't make it on there but he probably will next year Ya know, I would have loved to see Harrell make it, but if he has another good year, you're right that he'll probably be on it next year. He's really just a great, friendly guy, and I had a blast interviewing him last summer. Best of luck to Luke this year!
  19. Um, I didn't bother reading the rest of this thread b/c I was so excited to mention my favorite game of all: Volopoly! (University of Tennessee-style monopoly)
  20. Any idea how this will affect Sirius' stock?
  21. Wow, that would be absolutely huge. I haven't heard anything about this, but my guess would be that it doesn't happen. But, if it does, it would be awesome!
  22. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 06:16 AM) Good to see Eduardo Perez is already in camp hahaha.... that's awesome! QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 17, 2007 -> 01:27 AM) I wish they would paint over the WS stuff in the dugout. It's all over the park enough. Yeah, I agree. As awesome of a season as that was, it was two years ago. Time to take off the WS stuff, and focus on '07.

    Whos on Myspace?

Yeah, I'm definitely a Facebook guy myself. I guess you could say I'm obsessed. I check it multiple times a day. Anyway, it's much more private, better looking, and just better all around. But it's definitely a college thing, though there has been an influx of high schoolers recently since they allowed it.
  24. Awesome read. Thanks for posting that!
  25. Wow, I'm not a big fan of Mayo, but that was rediculous. I mean, he shouldn't have recieved either technical in the first place from the looks of it. Also, that was one of the biggest flops I've ever seen. That ref should be an NFL punter.
