  1. Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about which system to get the game for. I'm pretty psyched now about getting the game for my xbox. Another question for anyone with a hardware modified xbox: Is there any way to play DVD's on it after it's been mod'ed? I can't seem to get any of them to play.
  2. I've got a question for anyone that has played NCAA before on both a PS2 and an XBOX: Which system should I get the game for? I just got the XBOX and haven't played any sports games on it, so I don't know what to do.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:45 AM) Nice to see Spidale with 3 hits down in WS. Collaro also had 2 hits and another bomb (20th). The best 3rd base prospect in the org also hit his 11th hr (Micah Schnurstein) for WS and is starting to develop his power stroke a bit more. Mark my words and I've been saying it a long time but Schnur has the ability to be a total double/hr machine. I just absolutely love his swing. Hell Wes even threw a good game (6 shutout innings for WS) which is a total shock. I love Schnur. Always have since we drafted him. My brother and I loved saying his name, and were like that'd be great to hear everyday in Chicago. Then he went and set the arizona league double record, which showed his power potential, and I've been pysched about him since. And as for Wes, I'm still high on him. His rough stretch never deterred me from liking him.
  4. Hell yeah, Ole Miss! I hope they can start the season like that in real life. My college choices are pretty much down to Ole Miss and U of Tennessee, so I hope both of my possible schools of choice have good years in football.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) I have faith in the Sox scouting department. That's the point I kept reiterating during the draft. It really pisses me off how year in and year out people continue to b**** and moan during the draft about how they can't believe we drafted this guy, and another guy could have been taken 10 rounds later. I mean, I love how so many guys know more than our scouting department. If we take a guy in a certain round, I'm sure the Sox feel that he wouldn't be there later, or else we wouldn't draft him at that point. Also, if the "draft experts" that most people get there info from were so damn good at scouting prospects and projecting where they should be drafted, then why haven't they been hired by a major league team to run their draft for them? Now, I'm not even just referring to all the negative attitudes when Brooks was drafted, but just a lot of the picks overall. I guess if mlb.com doesn't have a scouting report on one of our top 10-15 picks, it means that player sucks. Well, I think that's bull. Jason, I always appreciate your positive attitude towards things, but I wish I could say that for all of you.

    Sexiest woman alive

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) Vanessa Marcil She is so fine, as is Lacey Chabert from Mean Girls.
  7. I normally wouldn't post something on just one recruit, but this guy is someone we definitely want. Although, I may be a little biased b/c Jordan was my best friend when I lived in Ohio before I moved. And, although it doesn't mention it in the article, he runs a 4.6 40 and has a 3.9 GPA. Plus, he's very football smart as his dad is the head football coach at his high school.
  8. Happy BDay, guys! Hope it's a good one for you both
  9. Here's another good article on Derek Rodriguez (14th round, '05) from that same website: Derek Rodriguez Article
  10. Hansen is one of my favorite minor leaguers. I liked him a lot when I covered Great Falls last year, and although his avg. isn't great, he does have 16 HR's with those 58 rbi's. He's definitely a guy to keep your eye on, and see if he can keep putting up numbers like he has been. It's also good to see Munoz and, especially, Honel have good games.
  11. I still believe that Mario Austin can make an impact on an NBA team, hopefully with us.
  12. WHarris, you should be happy b/c according to the Tribune, Basden has officially signed with the Bulls. He's a great player. Living in a city with a C-USA team, I get plenty of C-USA coverage, and have seen and heard about him quite a bit. And, for y'all that don't know much about him, he was the C-USA player of the year in a league with 2 1st round draft picks: Francisco Garcia and Jason Maxiell.
  13. I'd love it if we gave any of these guys a shot: Mike Wilkinson, Luke Schenscher, Taylor Coppenrath, Kelenna Azubuike, Randolph Morris, or Sean Banks. Banks may be a major head case, but it's worth giving him a chance with all the talent he has. Wilkinson and Coppenrath are both big guys who could spread out the defense with their outside shooting ability and can also provide some bulk inside. Schenscher and Morris are widebodies who could also provide inside bulk, and maybe takeover Reiner's role.
  14. Thanks for the recap. Great job, as always.
  15. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) Gio is a US citizen and was born in Florida I believe, just an fyi. Yeah, I'm not really sure why I wrote "world" team. I just wasn't thinking. Thanks for the correction.
  16. I'm glad I'll finally get to see both Jenks and Young play since they're two guys who have the potential to contribute a lot at the ML level. I'm a little surprised Gio didn't make the U.S. team, though. I would have liked to have seen him pitch, too.
  17. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 05:08 AM) Great Falls gets slammed: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...bilrok_grfrok_1 Wow, that's not a good start to the season. At least Allen got a couple of hits.
  18. Here's a article about BriSox Catcher Trey Combs. He was the one who hit the game tying 2-run double in the bottom of the 9th tonight. Trey Combs Article
  19. Also regarding the BriSox game, it should be noted that 2 of our stud Domincan League guys had very good first games. Salvador Sanchez went 2-4 with a walk-off HR, 2B, and 3 runs scored, while Ramon Sanchez got the start and ND giving up 1 run (1 ER) in 5.1 IP. He also k'd 7 and walked 0.
  20. QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) Great post, Juggs. Ditto. Very well said.

    School Colors

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) I had the ultimate color combination for High School: Black and Gold. It just looked so good no matter what the colors were on. Yeah, I have to agree w/ you there. Black and gold look pretty sweet, as well as Black and Blue. My high school colors, however, are Purple and Gold. Here's an example of our lacrosse jerseys:
  22. I read about this earlier today, and I'm so pumped right now. I can finally listen to Chicago sports talk radio in the comfort of my own home, 500 miles away. Thank God for the internet.
  23. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 05:30 AM) Wow, that's harsh. He's at least a mediocre prospect. Yeah, I guess it sounded a little harsh to say to watch out for the guy and then call him a "non-prospect". I guess I meant to say that he's not nearly a top prospect, like he'd be considered if he was putting up those stats in his 1st year in the minors, but rather just someone to watch out for. I think the term "mediocre" suits his status well for now.
  24. Collaro had another HR for W-S too. He's having a very good year so far. I know he's been in the minors for a long time, and only playing in the rookie leagues, but he's still only 22 and isn't any older than any of the college seniors we drafted. Who knows what happened with him. I still consider him a non-prospect, but I'm just saying he's someone to keep an eye on if he can continue to play well as he moves up the ranks.
