QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 06:45 AM) Tulane vs Rice USC vs Oregon State Mississippi vs Texas Clemson vs Baylor Georgia Tech vs Tennessee Florida State vs Florida Fullerton vs Arizona State Miami vs Nebraska Those are both sides of the bracket. Thanks. I haven't really followed the CWS before this year, mainly b/c none of "my" teams have been in it, so I'm guessing that the Super Regionals are single elimination.

Does anyone have a list of the match-ups for the Super Regionals?

I saw that earlier. I guess we all know how that turned out: The Braves got an awesome Utility guy, while we got stuck with a DH who can't play 1st.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 06:24 AM) Just a quick poll. Should we leave this thread here or move it to the main forum tomorrow? I'd say just leave it here. If anyone wants to find out about who we drafted they can actually visit this forum since so few visit it anyway. But, either way, it will be fine.

I'm just glad my Ole Miss Rebels advanced. They're who I'm rootin' for to win it all. And, yes, I know it's highly unlikely they'll do that. Also, I'm glad that U of Tenn. advanced. That's probably where I'll go to school since I can get a couple of scholarships if I go there, and basically get paid to go to college. It'll be nice having very minimal college loans to pay back, especially if I go to dental school (which is what I really want to do, as of now anyway) b/c then I'll really rack up the loans.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 06:07 AM) I really like Robinson and I think that pick would make a lot of sense. Yeah, I really hope we pick him up. I've been saying for the last couple weeks that he'd be a great pickup in the 4th or 5th round.

Grapes. Not the red ones, the green ones. They're awesome. -
Happy BDay to the man who made my sig. Hope it's a good one!

I saw that play on SC. Estrada got layed out. I hope he's o.k., but I too see nothing wrong in was Erstad did.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 04:59 AM) Also very young, born on Dec 16, 1987 Good lord. He's my age. He'd be able to play a season of rookie league and a full season next year, and still only be 18 after 2 years in the minors. Hell, if he only progressed 1 level a year, he'd be 21 by the end of his 1st full year in AAA.

QUOTE(MnSoxFan @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 03:38 AM) I do not want a catcher or a local pitcher drafted in first round. Catchers rarely pan out, and local pitchers rarely pan out. Just say no. Then I guess your man is Lance Broadway, who by the way I'm really warming up to. I've got this feeling that he's gonna be one of the better ones out of this draft.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) I think he's plan D, behind Clement, Bogu, and Carillo. One of those 4 guys will be on the board when the Sox pick. I agree. I'm just saying it's a serious possibility b/c just earlier today people were saying he was going to be a supp./2nd round pick. Now we know he'll probably go in round 1. Here's a little more on Broadway from ChicagoSports.com: I see that he was the pitcher of the year in the same conference that Bogusevic plays in. Although, we'll never know who would've won if Bogusevic focused on pitching in college rather being a 2-way player. I'm sure Bogusevic probably finished 2nd in voting.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) looks like that Broadway guy is making a lot of heads turn. I think that getting Broadway is a lot more realistic now. He's ranked at #16 on BA's Draft Tracker. His stock has been skyrocketing, and you know we're gonna seriously consider him considering Dave Wilder, himself, scouted his last game, where he pitched great.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 05:20 AM) I have to say I'm not nearly as high on Townsend as most of you seem to be. Not only the year off, but during some mid-May workouts his fastball sat at 85-89mph. With most scouts thinking his intensity will lead to the pen for him, I say no thanks. I would rather end up with Carillo, Clement, or get Ryan Zimmerman if he slides. Zimmerman won't be 21 until late September. I agree completely.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 10:38 PM) I think those are just the strips you can pull off rather than the actual paint. Ah, I love the strips. They're so much easier to put on than paint, and they're not messy. And, back to the main topic: I don't play baseball, but I've always loved the look of the high socks, and when I create players in MVP, they always have high socks.

QUOTE(56789 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) I would take the white sox championship over the 100,000 but catch the next flight to vegas and put everything i own down on the sox winning the world series then get more than 100,000 and the championship Haha. Damn, how did no one else think of this? That would definitely be the way to go. -
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 05:22 AM) Barons 3 Montgomery 1 W-Lubisich (7-3) L- Shields (0-1) Sv- Jenks (13) Lubisich was outstanding tonight ahead of every hitter had a great sinker nothing hit hard gave up 3 hits 2 infield. Andy Gonzalez had 2 great games hit the ball hard and played some great Defense, One on a deflection off villcais glove reached out barehanded snaged the ball while still holding the bag then threw flat footed to 1st for a DP. Also made a great throw from the hole 10 feet into LF to nail a runner. Also had 4-6 day at the plate with a long triple and crushed the ball today really likeing the 2 hole. Jerry Owens had a couple hits including a Triple love to watch him run. Josh Fields showed some signs of life a base hit to right drove a ball to the wall in both right and left field. Glad to hear A-Gon is doing well, and hopefully Fields can turn it around. BTW, thanks a ton for your in-depth game recaps. I know everyone appreciates them, and although others have already told you thanks for doing this, I haven't yet, so thanks!

I'd easily take the $5. And, I'd have to say that there are things more important in life than the Sox; one of them is money, and me being able to buy a new car to replace my old '92 Ford Taurus that doesn't have a working radio or power locks and has engine mounts that are loose, so if I accelerate too fast, my engine will just fall out. -
Let's say Zimmerman somehow falls to the Sox in the real draft. Do we take him? I think we'd have to seriously consider it. He'd probably rate as the best player still on the board.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) Why am I not so thrilled with Bogusevic? In 2003 and 2004, he posted WHIP's of 1.46 and 1.37, with a K/9 under seven. His ERA, while alright, wasn't spectacular by any means either -- 3.41 and 4.19. This year, he's obviously doing a lot better, but it's still not someone who jumps out at me as a guy I want at #15. Then again, I'm not a genius on the subject of draft prospects, either. Sometimes things change. Who knows what might have happened in the offseason to make Bogusevic have such a great year. Same goes with Matt Torra. It looks like anyone we're interested in has question marks: Bogusevic, Torra, Townsend (doubt he falls), Clement, Carillo. All of these guys have something wrong or potentially wrong with them. Anyway, I don't think you should be deterred from someone just b/c they had a great senior year with otherwise good years. Look at Brian Anderson. He was this exact type of draft pick, and he's doing great in a very mediocre, at best, lineup in Charlotte.
