My brother is in the Marines, and I can't tell y'all how important it is to the troops to hear everyone supporting them and behind them. So, I'd like to thank not just our troops, but the countless others who support our troops in many ways.

Happy BDay, guys!

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 29, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) are there any other really good prospects they have recruited? They got an OL from Indiana, who I think is supposed to be a 3 or 4 star recruit when the new rankings come out. And, they got Chris James, a WR from Morgan Park, who is a 4 star recruit, and one of the best WR's in Illinois. One good thing about getting these guys is that they've both said they're gonna try really hard to get some of the other top recruits in Illinois to go to Illinois w/ them. And, there are plenty of other top recruits from not just Illinois, but other states too, that have Illinois at the top of their list.

Congrats to Danica on racing a great race. Her time will come.

Hell yeah, Zook! Let the top recruits keep on coming.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:12 AM) The Reds probably DON'T want him. They designated him for assigment much like we did to Ben Davis. No one claimed him either. Jimenez could have chosen to become a free agent but he would have to give up his $2.87 million salary. He isn't stupid. No other team would have given him that much if he became a free agent. But, why don't they just release him now? If I was gonna have to pay his salary, I'd rather pay it to him w/o him influencing my minor leaguers in negative ways.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) He accepted assignment to AA Chatanooga.... LOOKOUT Why would the Reds even want him in the minor leagues? I sure wouldn't want him around developing minor leaguers if he's as bad a clubhouse guy as they say he is.

Deron, f*** Yeah!

I'm not sure if anyone that posts here even likes lacrosse, but that 2nd semi-final game today that went into sudden death overtime was one of the best I've ever seen. Anyway, I'd just like to say to Johns Hopkins for advancing to the championship game, and good luck to them on Monday. Go Blue Jays!

I heard that he's not even going to miss his next start.

Update: Kanny took lead, 4-2, thanks in part to Josh Hansen's 11th HR of the year. W-S is coming back, 5-4 in the bottom of 8th. Still 2-0 Bham in top of 8th. Charlotte still up 3-1 in top of 9th.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) Isn't Sowers the kid that Cleveland grabbed, first-round last season? Yep. He's a very polished lefty from Vandy. It was said when he was drafted that he could be one of the 1st to reach the majors from the '04 draft.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) I'll take the White Sox if no-one else jumps in, otherwise Dan can assign me a team. My guess is that Dan is gonna chose the Sox himself, unless we do what I suggested earlier, and that's have us vote on who we'd think the Sox should take.

QUOTE(thomsonmi @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Are we supposed to take the guy we'd take or the guy we think the team will take? The guy that the team would take.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 28, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Tons of fun. You meet girls outside of school. Agreed. I go to an all-guys school right now, and I have no problem with it at all. My social life has not been affected one bit by it. I have a girlfriend, and a bunch of friends that are girls, too. There are many pros about going to an all-guys school. In addition to some examples mentioned above, going to an all-guys school also allows our guy teachers to talk about many things that definitely wouldn't be tolerated if girls were in the classroom. Would I mind having girls at my school? Not at all. But, is it terrible w/o them? Nope.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 28, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Im pretty sure that he tried to cheat the system by going to school and signing with the O's and because of that instead he didnt get to go to school or sign? Yeah, from what I remember, he thought he could go back to school and still negotiate as long as he didn't play any baseball. However, he re-enlisted in school, which meant he couldn't negotiate with the O's anymore, and for some reason he also lost his eligibility. Although, I'm not sure why he would have lost his eligibility.

Sucks to see Miller released. He had a lot of promise when we drafted him out of high school. He was decent last year, but that's about the only good year he's had. Control has always been an issue with him, too.

So, who's gonna get the White Sox? Dan, I'm guessing you or Jas will get 1st dibs on that choice. Or, for the Sox can we start a seperate "poll" thread when it's time for the #15 pick, and have people vote, and the player w/ the most votes is that pick and then continue on with the draft. Btw, can I have the Cardinals?

QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 28, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Just a quick question. Whos the best polished hitter of the guys we could be considering? I'd think that Pennington or Clement would be the most polished of the guys that will be there at 15 that we might also consider drafting.
