Dave Wills puts things into perspective for me
dasox24 replied to BobDylan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great post, Bob. Really puts life in perspective... -
f***, f***, f***, f***, f***!!! I can't believe that both Rauch and Majewski pitched last night against Memphis. I would have tried to go to the game if I knew Rauch was pitching. Anway, Rauch went a strong 7 innings, giving up 2 runs (2 ER) and recording 5 k's with 0 bb's. Majewski came in the game in the 8th, and got the save, going 2 perfect innings. Good to see Majewski doing well. Best of luck to him with the Expos! P.S. Sorry aboug the language, but I looked at the paper this morning, and at the bottom was the headline, "Trappers' big right-hander shuts down Redbirds. 6-foot-11 Rauch is happy he has left the White Sox behind." When I saw this I was pissed that I didn't go to the game, and then I looked at the box score inside the paper and saw that Majewski pitched, and that pissed me off even more.

Charlotte lost 3-2 in 11 innings. Wilson Valdez was 2-6 with a rbi. Nelson was 2-4, and Hankins was 1-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. Diaz was very good tonight, giving up 2 runs (2 ER) in 8 IP. He also had 6 k's and 0 bb's. Sanders has been pitching well lately, and continued that tonight, allowing 1 baserunner on a walk in 2 IP. Baj took the loss, giving up 1 ER in the 11th inning. Charlotte Box Birmingham won 3-2. Spidale was 1-4 with a double. Dennis Ulacia had a very good start, giving up 2 runs (2 ER) in 7 IP. LaMura got the win in relief, pitching a scoreless 8th inning. I really hope they don't try to use LaMura as a starter anymore b/c he's just been great in relief, but very bad as a starter. Matt Smith got his 8th save of the year, pitching a perfect 9th. Birmingham Box Winston-Salem won 8-7. Brice was 1-4 with 2 rbi and 2 bb's. Josh Fields was 3-5 with a rbi. Sweeney was 2-4 with a rbi. Dwayne Pollok pitched a perfect 9th inning, earning his league-leading 25th save. W-S Box Kanny lost 14-5. Ouch. Antoin Gray was 1-3 with a HR and 2 rbi. Wes Whisler contributed nicely on offense for the 2nd game in a row, going 2-3 with a solo HR. Gio made his debut tonight for Kanny, giving up 3 runs (2 ER) in 3 IP. Nice relief from Orionny Lopez, going 2 IP and giving up 0 runs. Deininger was shelled in relief, giving up 7 ER in 2 IP. Seth Morris, normally an OF'er, made his first pitching appearance of the year, giving up 2 ER in 1 IP. Kanny Box Bristol lost 5-0. Javier Castillo was 2-4. Jose De Los Santos was 0-3. Brandon Allen had a day to forget, going 0-4 with 2 errors at 1B. Jay Marshall had a strong start, but got the loss by giving up 1 run (earned) in 6 IP. He also recorded 7 k's and 1 bb. Bristol Box Great Falls won 6-2. Donny Lucy was 2-4 with a double and 2 rbi. Ryan McCarthy was 1-4 with a run scored. Josh Hansen was 1-3 with a rbi. Ray Liotta had a very good start, giving up 0 runs in 5.1 IP. He also recorded 5 k's. Demetrius Banks got the win, pitching 2 innngs of relief, in which he gave up 1 unearned run. Great Falls Box

Here's three more box scores from yesterday, although, a day late: Kanny won game 1 of DH, 5-4. Wes Whisler has been contributing all over the place for Kanny, this time on the offensive end, going 2-2 with 2 2B's and 2 RBI. Young was 1-2 with a solo HR. Gray was 1-4 with 2 RBI. Ryan Rodgriguez got the ND, giving up 4 runs (3 ER) in 5.1 IP. Fernando Hernandez got the win in relief, giving up o runs in 1 IP and recording 3 k's. Wasserman got his 26 save of the year. Kanny game 1 Box Kanny also won game 2 of DH, 1-0. Kanny only managed 2 hits and 3 BB's the whole game. Brian Miller got the win, giving up 0 runs in 6 IP. He also recorded 7 k's. Orionny Lopez got the save, pitching a scoreless 7th inning. Kanny game 2 Box Great Falls won 8-6. Ryan McCarthy was 2-4 with a double and a walk. Y'all really need to watch out for McCarthy. He's been really hot lately and is very good defensively as a SS, although he can also play 3B. Chris Kelly was 4-5 with 3 HR's and 6 RBI. Matthew Deuchler, who's been on a tear lately (raising his avg. about 45 pts. the last 2 weeks), was 2-3 with a rbi. Donny Lucy was 1-4. John Egbert had a nice start, giving up 1 run in 5 IP. Boone Logan got the win in relief, giving up 1 ER in 3 IP. Great Falls Box

Which role would you rather have in the bullpen, closer or set-up man? Why?

If we were to move our AAA team, I'd sure hope we'd get a team in the PCL, so I could go see their games in Memphis.

Official Bears Training Camp Thread

Yeah, Jas, I'm pretty impressed with those. Also, I was also thinking about how awesome it is that you can handle running this website, break news on minor league stuff before many others, and play for the Chicago Bears. That's some serious multi-tasking P.S. I know that they (the Gage's) have diff. first names, it's just that the pic that was put up in page 1 of this thread say "Mr. Gage." -
What Hawk promised to us Sox fans last year.

*Also a non-game post* haha, but at least WSF1 and I came up with good ones. I bet you didn't think I'd be using "cost".

where we haven't finished since 2000.

Why we can't afford to sign or trade for many players available.
-
Great job, Dan! I like how you added how many times they've been on the list, too.
-
Thank you very much, too bad we got killed, though...

Mr. Zero

He supposed to be very, very good defensively, but this is the first year he's hit really well like he has, and like Yasny said, he doesn't draw many walks.
-
can be learned by buying Tom Emanski's video. Alright, don't use this one 'cause it has nothing to do w/ the Sox, i just thought it'd be funny...

Let's go Sox! Kick some Tiger ass!

I posted on WSI, ESPN, and the official site all before I found soxnet.net and then this board. I never posted much on these sites, but read them all the time. I can still remember SoxNet being a rivals.com website, and then not being too anymore b/c rivals became a pay website, IIRC. I know that I at least read the boards when I was in 6th grade (now I'll be a Junior) b/c the "24" in "Dasox24" came from my football number in 6th grade. I don't know why I've never changed the # in my screenname, I guess I just like it.
