f*** Pat Riley. And the NBA. The next few years are going to suck.

QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) Dining Loveless Cafe - load up on biscuits, go on a weekday, any wait is worth it especially for breakfast. Amazing stuff City House - get the pizza with the belly ham, one of the best pizza's (yes, I said it) you will ever eat. It's legit, named one of the best pizza's in the country by Food Network. Everything there is awesome Still weird seeing this place get publicity. I've eaten there more times than I can remember. My ex's cousin is the chef that owns City House. I will attest that it is awesome.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 08:13 AM) I don't care who put out the report. SOMEONE needs to get their ass on the phone and recruit out of that family. Especially if you want to go public and comment on the roster at various points, you really should be doing something to help it. If you aren't going to help then STFU. Well said. I will never understand Rose's stance on not recruiting players to join him.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 08:30 PM) I'm not holding my breath, but I don't see why not. I know if I were him I'd wanna play here. Ha, same here. But for some reason he (nor any star) wants to play in Chicago. We were clearly the best choice in 2010 and he didn't pick us. We had a young, talented, deep roster who could have been contenders for a decade or more (instead of 4 years like Miami) and he went the Miami route. We are in worse shape now with a questionable Rose. While I think that coming to Chicago would be a smart move for him, I don't see him feeling the same way.
-
Agreed. LeBron isn't coming to Chicago. No chance.

When I was removed of my mod status, I wasn't even told. And I certainly wasn't thanked for it. One day I just noticed that I wasn't a mod anymore. I must have been awful. Lol. But for real, thanks to those guys in that top post. Big time contributors of helping make this site continue to grow.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) What do Moderaters do? It depends on the board you're moderating. I barely did anything when I was a mod. I always felt that the FutureSox board was full of respectful posters (or I could have just been a bad mod ) so I didn't have to police it much. Some of it is monitoring behavior, combining posts when 2 threads of the same topic are created, stuff like that. Anyway, congrats to the new guys. You've all earned it.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 06:27 PM) I've been to Bonnaroo 4 times and it rained every time. You could definitely go cheaper than this, but REI brand stuff is usually good quality for the price. REI Camp Dome 4 Tent Sweet. Thanks! Any Bonnaroo pointers or tips that may not be well-known? This is my first time going.

Any recommendations for a good, decently priced tent that will hold up well in thunderstorm conditions? 2- or 3-person tent. Preferable no more than $200-250. I'm not sure I'll find what I'm looking for at that price, but might as well ask some of you experienced folks. I'll be camping at Bonnaroo Music Festival from Thursday-Monday, and the chance of thunderstorms is fairly high. Like 50% on Sat/Sun. The tent that I have is great in good weather, but not so much in rain. Any suggestions are welcome.

Sox Draft Carlos Rodon> Draft Day Discussion Thread

As with seemingly everyone else, I'm very pumped about both of these picks. Couldn't be much happier right now. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:59 PM) Wait, did we know that Lance Broadway is now an actor on Broadway and was in Olympus Has Fallen? Wait, what??? Wow. Had no idea. -
Shot 9 over through 9 holes today. Might not sound great, but for me, that's the best golf I've ever played. I can be happy with bogey golf. Wish we had been able to play a full 18 because I was really starting to feel it. The only downside was I choked on the 9th hole. Had a 8 ft downhill putt for birdie and ended up 3-putting. Awful, awful way to end the day. Horrible read.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) Shouldn't this be in the hot babe thread? Yes, that could definitely be the case. I saw some absolutely beautiful women there. I think I fell in love a few times.

Also, I spent the entire day at Manhattan Beach yesterday. I must say: I get while people hype up SoCal so much. My first impression of the area was the Inland Empire, because that's where I'm working, so I wasn't impressed. But our project is ahead of schedule, and in the rarest of moves, we were told we weren't working on Friday. So I decided to explore the beach (wanted one close to LAX since I was taking the redeye last night), and I completely get why people live there.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ May 31, 2014 -> 09:34 AM) Really bummed that I just saw this. Family has a house on the beach there so I've spent a lot of time there. Could have recommended a lot of great seafood places for you guys. Hope you had an awesome time, I love it down there. Gotta try and make it down there once before the year is over! That's awesome. It's a great beach. I don't think many people associate Alabama with the beach (probably b/c the coastline is so short) but I really like it there... And no worries. We had a blast, but we didn't really go out to eat much anyway. Pretty much spent the whole time either on the beach (~10:00-1:00) or inside the festival (~2:00-11).

Played here on Thursday night. I didn't play as well as I would have liked, but the scenery was nice.

I'll be in LA on May 30, but I'm taking the red eye home that night. If this thing goes to a Game 6, I'll try my best to get a ticket. I think I might have time to get in the game and still make it to LAX in time for my flight. But that will probably be a game-time decision.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ May 14, 2014 -> 01:20 AM) I had no idea what you meant about this. Unfortunately now I do. Flying Spirit tomorrow and already I will never ever fly with them again. Checking in and have discovered: 1. Have to pay $45 for a carry on bag that is stored in the overhead bins if you wait 24 hours before of your flight's departure. 2. Have to pay $40 for each bag checked in if you wait 24 hours before your flight's departure. 3. If you purchased more than one seat, pay to sit together (or your sits will be assigned after everyone else has been assigned). I fly 2-3 times a year and have flown with various airlines, this is the first time I've experienced bad service and nickel and diming like this. I have yet to see what happens when I arrive at the gate. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. This sounds awful. Will definitely steer clear of them.

Heading to Gulf Shores tomorrow for Hangout Music Fest. Can't wait. First beach trip of the year, and doing it while listening to some great live music all day.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 13, 2014 -> 03:27 PM) Before Copeland started the bench press reps at Pro Day he turned on Metallica and then had a teammate slap him in the face. Reminds me of this...

With a new owner about to take over, I think the Bills GM is probably not worried about the long-term. He could easily be fired next year if the owner wants to bring in "his guy." He probably figured he needs to do whatever he can to win now and impress his new boss. Also, Brandon Marshall is a clear-cut #1 no matter what offense he's in.

FutureSox: In-person reports on Chris Beck, Myles Jaye

Hell of an article, Balta. Absolutely great insight. -
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 11, 2014 -> 05:55 PM) Really like Bears signing UFA linebacker Christian Jones. Had a 3rd round grade and could be a starter sooner than later. I fully expect him to make the 53 man roster.

QUOTE (scs787 @ May 10, 2014 -> 09:09 PM) Christian Jones added as a UDFA.... Great addition. Hate the Vikings picking up Tiny. They got a good one.
