  6. That was a nice play by Mark on the bunt! I'm just glad he's ok. That could have been bad.
  7. I see that Burke is starting. Let's go Jamie, have yourself a good game!
  8. SP definitely, unless we could get Guardado or a top flight closer like that, which would allow us to have Marte and Shingo set up or close if our closer can't pitch on a certain day.
  9. I agree. I hope he just focuses on pitching b/c it sounds like he has 4 quality pitches; he has the stuff, but needs some fine tuning.
  10. I'd have to say that my other favorite team is the Cardinals, which is pretty much b/c a lot of my friends are Cards fans, and I go to a lot of Redbirds games, which is the AAA affiliate for St. Louis.
  11. Nevermind, he's not hurt. He played tonight and had a good game.
  12. LaMura had a great night in his first outing in AA ball.
  13. I'm gonna say Lucy and Whisler (as a pitcher). I know Whisler's stats suck as a pitcher, but he has 4 legitimate pitches, which is rare for a young player like him. And, we drafted him in the 2nd round and I have a lot of faith in our scouts, so they must have seen something in this guy that's worthy of a 2nd round pick.
  14. According to Simpson he is. I read somewhere, though, that he would pitch, and on days that he doesn't pitch, he'll DH.
  15. Actually, I think that he might have gotten hurt last night. I'm not positive, but he came out of the game after only 1 at-bat. So, that makes me think he got hurt.
  16. I found this from a chat about the draft on BA today: "Q: John Schneider from Chicago, Illinois asks: How do you think the White Sox did with their 6 picks in the first two rounds? A: Allan Simpson: Potentially, very good. They got one of the best hitters in the draft with their first pick, Josh Fields, then got four quality lefthanders with their next five picks. I think a lot will ride on UCLA LHP Wes Whisler, and how he takes to pitching once he gives up hitting. He didn't have a good year this season as either a pitcher or hitter, but scouts say he's got four quality pitches, including a 93 mph fastball. He just needs to make all his pitchers work better in concert with each other."
  17. I see that Nanita only had 1 AB before leaving the game. Does anyone know if he's hurt b/c it seems like he prob. is if he only took 1 AB and left? Also, Haigwood had a decent outing w/ 7 k's in only 5 innings.
  18. Awesome! I can't wait till the top 50 is out. By the way, I just noticed that it's dan the man's b-day. Happy birthday!
