  1. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 9, 2013 -> 06:05 PM) Mizzou with another embarrassing loss to a garbage team. They're up 8 with less than 10 minutes to go. All they have to do is play smart, even basketball for a few minutes and Tennessee probably folds. Instead, as always on the road, they collapse right at the point where they can put the other team away. I'm so tired of being the resume boosting win for these mediocre SEC teams. They have the ball down 3 with 20 seconds left and everyone who's watched Missouri this year knows Pressey isn't going to pass the ball and is going to take the 3 even though he's not a good 3 point shooter. Haith screams at him at the timeout after, but it's his fault for not knowing his player. Call the timeout beforehand and run a play instead of letting the play run and allowing something stupid to happen. There's 4 players with a chance to play in the NBA on this team yet they can't win a game on the road against anyone with a pulse. I continue to hope Haith gets fired for this Miami scandal. Look at all the success a real coach is having with his players at Miami. It's a joke. That garbage team has won 8 of 9 and is largely considered to be in the tournament by most people. Plus, Jordan McRae should be the SEC POY. It's not that bad of a loss. It's hard to win at Tennessee. But you're right about Haith being a joke. He's not good.
  2. I absolutely love this deal... Well done Hahn.
  3. That was really fun to watch. Not very often do we get to see an actual talking filibuster take place. Congress is usually so damn boring. It's about time someone made it interesting. I couldn't turn off C-SPAN, which is something I never thought I'd say.
  4. If the Bears were to go MLB, Kevin Minter would be my choice. That dude has everything you look for. Speed, smarts, instincts. I'm a fan.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 7, 2013 -> 04:41 PM) Remember the Bama butter-face? Absolutely. I was so disappointed once I saw her face, but man she looked great from behind... This was basically a spoof of the Bama fax cam girl. As for Bell, I was pretty confident about him until about Monday night when we heard OSU was making a push. At that point I started worrying.
  6. I present to you... Tennessee fax cam girl: http://bustedcoverage.com/2013/02/06/bikin...gning-day-vols/

Oh, and Rock, I can't believe Bell picked Ohio St. F'n Urban... You should never have posted this video of you watching the announcement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08E7q8qphyI I'm surprised I haven't seen that yet, but that sums up my reaction pretty well.

  9. For all of you guys: 247 Sports has a pretty cool team rankings feature where it takes the average rankings of the 4 major sites (Rivals, 247, ESPN, Scout) to get an overall idea of where the industry as a whole has your team ranked: http://247sports.com/Season/2013-Football/...iteTeamRankings
  10. It's National Signing Day! Going to be the worst class we've had in years, but oh well. 5 years of being terrible (and 4 head coaches) will do that to you. I still love this day. And crazy to think that UT will probably end up with a Top 25 class, but still only rank 10-11 in the SEC.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 4, 2013 -> 09:39 AM) Yeah I work for them and based on your story, he is clearly in the wrong. I'd say you either caught a bad apple or someone having a bad day. Our return policy is incredibly liberal and you shouldn't have any issues when you have the tags on your item. I'd contact the store manager. Cool. Glad to hear that. Thanks for the response.
  12. Thanks everyone for your responses. Having read them, I'm definitely going to bring this to REI's attention. I don't think I'll mention the guy's name, but I at least want them to know it's something that needs to be addressed.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 02:26 PM) He did. But it's not because I'm an idiot. It's because I didn't care either way. I didn't feel the need to go detective stabler on him once he put those pics up. Maybe in his mind he really is there. I don't know this dude at all. Maybe he's got some issues that not one person here could possibly know about. I guess I'm just saying I don't look at this as "score one for soxtalk" if the guy doesn't end up coming back again. This sums up my feelings exactly. I don't care if a random stranger makes stuff up trivial stuff on a message board. The only person on SoxTalk that I've actually ever spoken with is Jason (and I'm Facebook friends with a few others due to our FutureSox days), so in reality, almost everyone on here could be lying about who they are. I don't really care. This is just a fun outlet to talk about sports and other things. Though, to some people, I know that SoxTalk is more than just a "message board" so maybe they want to protect its integrity. And I kind of understand that. Anyway, back to football: I don't really care who wins tonight, but I guess I'll pull for the Ravens. I just want a close game.
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 02:27 PM) That's brutal. I normally don't go out of my way to complain about someone, but if it's something like that, I'd feel better bringing that up to a manager or calling someone else about it, especially since you still want to shop there and not have one bad apple ruin it. If everyone else is normally great to you, hopefully it was an isolated incident. Hell, if you explain your situation and how much money you spend there, someone may give you a special offer or something. Also, they "don't do returns?" I'm pretty sure they have a written policy (I don't know what it is) that was likely on the receipt. I don't know that I would have been able to hold back from pointing to it and saying "actually, says here you do" I think I was so stunned by the whole situation that I didn't know what to do. I kind of wish I had made a bigger deal about it, but that's not my style. I'm an incredibly easy-going guy so I don't ever get worked up over stuff like this, but this was different. I'm the guy who still tips 20% at a restaurant even if I have a terrible server (usually I'm an over-tipper). I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But this guy truly pissed me off. And yes, direct quote: "We really don't do returns." What an asinine statement.
  15. Don't we have someone here that works for REI? Squirt? I ask because I just had the worst customer service experience (no exaggeration) in my life at my local REI store and I'm stunned. The dude was being a smug asshole and lectured me on why I shouldn't be returning an item that I bought. He wasn't going to do it at first, but said this time he would. He said that they "don't do returns" unless the product is damaged in some way. He also told me REI wasn't a rental store for people to try stuff out and bring it back. Considering all the tags were on the pullover I was returning, I have no idea what the hell he was talking about. Like, yeah dude, I was definitely wearing this around town with all the tags still on it. Anyway, if this is how their customer service people are taught to act, then I'm never shopping there again. And I love REI so it will sadden me to do that. I've spent lots of money there in my life, but never had to return something until now. You'd think they'd treat their long time customers better (not that he had any way of knowing that, except for I guess my membership # was on the receipt).
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 1, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) Please tell me the guy was not posting random pics from the internet and claiming they were his just to act like he was at some Super Bowl he's not at on some random website. This would explain his posting on Soxtalk "from the NFC Championship Game" when data and wifi access would be nearly impossible due to all the connections. It's not that crazy. I live in Atlanta and have been to the Dome a few times. I get good reception in there. My buddy has posted pictures to Facebook from the stadium. I understand that there were more journalists and whatnot at that particular game, so they'd be using Wifi but it's definitely possible that he could do it - especially since his pictures were posted when the stadium was essentially empty.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) Alright Mhizzle....I've just blasted our membership base for you. I believe it is only the 4th time I've ever done it. When I saw the email, I was wondering if this had ever been done before. I couldn't recall a time... And good work Jason. I haven't been checking the main board much recently, so I probably wouldn't have seen this if you hadn't sent the email out. Good luck, Mhizzle.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 04:21 PM) There's obviously been a lot of good tweets abou teo since this whole ordeal got started but I just heard this one and it made me laugh..."how low do you think Teo's awareness rating will be in Madden?" I like it.
  19. Went skiing in North Carolina last weekend. First time skiing somewhere other than Colorado. It was about what I expected (icy), but I had fun anyway. It was just great being back out on the slopes for the first time in years. It was like riding a bike. I was going down blues by my 2nd trip up the mountain.
  20. And so it begins... September can't come soon enough. I know my team sucks and frustrates the heck out of me, but there's just nothing better to me than Tennessee football.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 10:15 AM) I haven't seen one of these parodies in awhile.
  22. So it appears that Marinelli is not staying. That's a huge bummer. If the "plan" was to go with an offensive guy as HC and then let Marinelli run the defense, how the heck do you not already know he's going to stay? That's bush league... especially if he leaves to be the d-line coach in Dallas. He'd take a lesser position to leave the Bears? That doesn't speak well for our new coach.
  23. Firing Lovie to hire Marc Trestman would be a huge disappointment. But whatever. Emery's career rides on this guy having success so he must feel pretty damn good about him. Still, not my first choice (or 2nd or 3rd or 4th...).
  24. This is why I love football. Also, Atlanta sports talk would have been unbearable this week if the Falcons had lost.
  25. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 6, 2013 -> 11:04 PM) Chip Kelly is staying at Oregon Although this seemed inevitable all day, I was really hoping he'd leave. The only reason really being that Tennessee has to play Oregon next year, and it may have helped us without Kelly coaching. We may have had a chance to lose by a little instead of losing by 40 like we will.
