  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) Might've cost me my first game. Same here. His performance really hurt, especially b/c I have him on both of my teams. Banking on big nights from Ray Rice (one league) and McFadden (another league).
  2. QUOTE (kev211 @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 04:59 PM) You act like Stafford's offense hates passing, has an amazing running game, and Calvin Johnson blows. I'd rather have Stafford. Somehow I think I may manage to win this week in my league even with stafford's s***tiness, benching AP and 3 other TD's, and Wes Welker sucking. That's clearly not what I said at all. My point was that I think Stafford and Ryan could have comparable years, and right now, you could still get big value in a trade for Stafford. There's no point in holding on to two #1 QB's, so trade the one with big value and fill holes elsewhere in your lineup.
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) Stafford has single handedly destroyed my fantasy team. I sit Matt Ryan and he goes nuts.. story of my life. You got both?? Wow. Ryan went no later than Round 4 in any of my 3 drafts. I personally had him ranked as my #5 QB this year behind Rodgers, Brady, Brees, and Stafford. I'd trade Stafford immediately. People will still think he has big value (even with his awful game today) and Ryan is going to go nuts this year. That offense loves to pass (and quite frankly, can't run very well) and he has 2 true #1 WRs to throw to. Ryan is going to tear it up.
  4. That's what I've been waiting on my whole life. I love having a legit #1 WR.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 09:26 AM) Any non-local fans going to be [illegally] viewing the game online? Absolutely. This is the site I use: http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/139798/1/w...cago-bears.html But it has pop up ads every few minutes or so, which is annoying. Anyone else have a better feed?
  6. ESPN Gameday is coming to Knoxville! And we're finally ranked again for the first time since '08. Ugh, it's been a long, tough road to get back there. Can't wait.
  7. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) You're fast! Greg Olsen will have a monster year as Scam Newtons favorite target, BOOK IT! I'm banking on this as well. I have Olsen starting this week. I had crap for TE's left on the board when drafting, so I went with Olsen and Jared Cook. I like the upside for both.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 11:36 AM) I CANT f***ING BELIEVE STUPID OGLETREE GOT THE TDS WHEN I HAVE DEZ BRYANT WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA My thoughts exactly...
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) Grantland: Honest logos for all 32 NFL teams Awesome stuff.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 11:10 AM) From what I've read here, we need a "people b**** about fantasy football thread". I don't come in here to read Soxbadger's crooning on the prospects of Kevin Ogletree in fantasy and I don't need to read about Hakeem Nicks scoring 1 point in some f***ed up league with weird scoring. We all play fantasy football. We all have players who underperform and overperform. We all pick our stupid sleepers and are excited when our RB scores a TD. Leave it the f*** out of this thread. I was waiting on this. As I read through all the fantasy-related posts, I knew someone was going to complain about it. If anybody posted about their fantasy football team last year, they about got their head ripped off... I couldn't care less. It's the NFL thread and these NFL players are on fantasy football teams. But I see there's a new thread for this now, so good deal.
  11. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) 9 Georgia guys injured in the game vs Buffalo, 7 of which won't play this week. And, if Saint Richt decides to actually keep the folks suspended for this game that should be, Georgia is going to be very undermanned. This sounds good to me, and to dasox I'm sure. Whatever makes Georgia lose and bring them back down to earth, also helps UT/S.C.'s chances at the title. Georgia sure as hell doesn't have many other games on their schedule that are losses. Go Missou! Yep, sounds good to me too. I don't root for injuries to other team's players, but when they happen, I don't feel bad about it (unless it's really severe). And if Richt has any integrity, he'll keep those guys suspended. But yes, this is one of the tougher games on Georgia's easy schedule, so do us proud Mizzou!
  12. QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) I might be crazy but wasn't there a different Soxtalk board before the one we know now started up those 10 years ago. I seem to remember having to resign up once this board became official. Unless we're both crazy, I think you're right because I remember the same thing. There was another board/site that we migrated from. Soxnet.net was somewhere in there. Can't remember if it was before or after the Soxtalk.com name was given to this board.
  13. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) dasox will be happy, UTenn really looked like they could do whatever they wanted, offensively, against N.C. State. Extremely happy. Haven't been able to post yet (I had 16 of my buddies from college staying with me this weekend), but definitely pleased with our opener. The offense had some issues and didn't capitalize (e.g. fumble on the 1 yd line), but Patterson will fill in nicely for Da'Rick. Still leaves me wondering what could have been, though, if teams had to match up against the original threesome we had at WR. I was more pleased with the defense, though. 5 forced turnovers (including the sack, strip, safety play) which was excellent to see against such a veteran offense. I had no idea how they'd look considering it's a new scheme (3-4) and we only have 2 senior starters, but I ended up liking what I saw. Seems like they'll have some breakdowns, but they'll also be aggressive and force turnovers. I'm okay with that.
  14. Times flies... So that means I was 15 when I started posting here. Good lord. That 15 year old freshman in high school would have never guess where'd he be in 10 years.
  15. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 10:45 AM) The James Franklin lovefest is sickening. I never realized how easy it was to get people to buy into unfounded hype, but damn, people have lost their minds about Vandy and Franklin. I'm sure they are going to be playing on hype and emotion early on, but that only goes so far. Then, depth and talent takes over. I don't think it will be any kind of blowout, but I do think it will be a 13-17 point win, which I'm more than ok with. As for the East thing, I've heard that as well. I guess no one realizes that their 6-7 record last year consisted of wins over Elon...Connecticut...Army...Ole Miss...Kentucky...and Weak Florist. Yeah, I'm impressed. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) NFL replacement refs: http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/17xhk1klr3...if/original.gif That about sums it up. On the bright side: The guys in the replay booth are the same. They're not part of the referee union (or whatever it's considered). They're NFL employees. So while it's not a huge consolation, at least the replay booth guys are experienced.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 08:19 AM) PLEASE PLEASE SHOW US MERCY and never bring this up again. You're never living that one down.
  18. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 04:59 AM) GAMEDAY!! I hope you freaking pummel James Franklin and Vanderbilt into the ground. I have no problem with Vandy - I've always liked them - but I can't stand James Franklin and I really hope yall put them in there place. The popular pick seems to be everyone taking Vandy (at least against the spread). Please prove them wrong. I even heard a guy call into a national sports talk show today and pick Vandy to win the East. Seriously?
  19. Missouri, I know you can do better than this... Oh, and trash talking about a 1960s football game against Florida? Hahaha. This video is excellent.
  20. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) It's more a statement on how big the home field advantage is going to be. If you can't win a big game with how the crowd is going to be, you're not going to win any big games. They may still rack up some wins, but it won't be a memorable year. That game is massive for Mizzou. It's not like the crowd will be any different from what they're used to on the road in the SEC, so it's not going to be something new for them. But I will say that Georgia has typically struggled on the road, so you definitely have a shot.
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 01:52 AM) Columbia is going to be absolutely f***ing rocking for that one. If they can't win that one, it's going to be a long year I think. I wouldn't say that. Georgia is picked to win the SEC East by pretty much everyone and with their easy schedule should easily make a BCS bowl game. If yall lost to them, I think Missouri would still have a chance to have a good year.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 07:12 AM) Office Space probably gets the most quoting in my world. "If things go well I might be showing her my O-face. "Oh... Oh... Oh!" You know what I'm talkin' about. "Oh!" "Yeah. Did you get that memo? " What would you do if you had a million dollars? I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two chicks at the same time, man. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. I wouldn't say I've been *missing* it, Bob. Excuse me, I believe you have my stapler... First, Mr. Samir Naga... Naga... Naga... Not gonna work here anymore, anyway. Well-well look. I already told you: I deal with the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people? Yeah, hi... Yeah... Yeah Hi PC Load Letter... What the f*** does that mean!? The best part about that line is that the printer at my high school used to give that error message, so I know exactly what he's talking about. And I use the line in bold a lot at work (obviously kidding of course).
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 27, 2012 -> 01:55 PM) Looks like mizzou G Jack Meiners just has a strained MCL and may be back for Georgia. Super pumped to hear that. I was fearing he was out for season. I really hope yall beat UGA. Such an unbearably pompous fan base considering they've never won anything. Of course, living in Atlanta and listening to sports talk here has increased my Georgia hatred a lot. Also, this year they have the easiest schedule in the history of the SEC, which means it's very likely they'll win the SEC East.
