QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) Pretty awesome nut-shot by Brown. I can't believe he didn't get booted. Ahh, and he was making me so proud until that (he went to my high school)... Oh well, still a stud. Small lapse in judgment. -
I see no harm in that.

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 07:38 AM) Better game this weekend: Nebraska - Wisconsin or Alabama - Florida? I'm much more excited to watch Alabama-Florida (I think Wisconsin wins easily), but maybe that's just b/c I'm SEC. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) Rock, where are you getting your info on Trent Richardson? I had not heard this before but would be very interested in learning more. http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/docs-richard...arge-rims-29854 http://outkickthecoverage.com/trent-richar...to-see-here.php -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 02:55 AM) Even with you guys, ESPN has covered the Bruce Pearl aspect of the case so much, but not said much about Lane Kiffin. If it's SEC football, they'll defend it. With that said, I think you'll come out ok in football. Kiffin wasn't there long enough to do stuff TOO terrible. Oh, I don't know about that, haha... But in regards to your first statement, that's a good point. Pearl did get most of the coverage on ESPN even though Kiffin (probably) did worse things. I won't deny that certain institutions seem to turn a blind eye towards the SEC regarding football (e.g. NO ONE is mentioning Trent Richardson owning a new 2011 Yukon worth ~$45,000 even though his family is not "well off"). But, yes, I do think that we should come out okay. At least this violation for paying for Lache Seastrunk's unofficial visit involves a coach and player that are not apart of the program. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) Yet he's still allowed to coach. Something is so f***ing wrong with that. The good news is he wont last long at USC. No, he definitely won't last long there. What's sad is that behind all his bullcrap, there's actually a pretty smart coach with a good offensive mind (The fact that he made Jonathan Crompton into a draft pick still amazes me). Crompton's stats: 2008 (Fulmer) - 8 games: 51.5% completion, 889 yards, 5 TD/4 INT (benched half-way through season) 2009 (Kiffin) - 13 games: 58.3% completion, 2800 yards, 27 TD/13 INT -
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:18 PM) A loss today locks up the 13th pick for the Sox, I believe. Let's go Blue Jays! (I'm only half-kidding - I honestly don't care, but 13th would be better than 17th)

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 03:37 PM) I'm just sick of my own school's name dragged through the mud by those hacks on topcis like cars that were cleared as legit and above board, and then they actually go and sue the university for no real reason. Yet every SEC story is buried if written at all, the top story is on how they should allow the SEC to completely fill all BCS bowls. Hey, no worries, looks like my school is back in the NCAA investigation picture. Lane Kiffin really is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm so f***ing pissed. I dealt with a year and a half investigation, and now another one is being opened up for more violations during Kiffin's tenure. When will it end? -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...-offensive-line Are you kidding me, Angelo??? Nobody did less than the Bears over the last 5 years to improve their offensive line. What a joke. Seriously, that's garbage. I'm actually kind of offended that he would think so lowly of our fanbase that he thinks he'll be able to get away with saying s*** like that. -

I guess I'll be okay with Missouri to the SEC if it ends up happening, but it'll cause Auburn to move to the SEC East. That means Bama-Auburn will keep their cross-division rivalry, ending the one of the oldest (and probably most significant) rivalries in SEC history - Tennessee v Alabama. That, I don't like. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 06:13 PM) Ah, he's a local kid, thats pretty much what landed him. Otherwise he would have gone further away to a better program. And I know I shouldnt be, but I am always surprised at what little coverage every other scandal gets on ESPN etc. Boise has 75 athletes and several staff members involved in pay for play and its already off the radar. Well, I know you're not including Tennessee in that. Bruce Pearl/Lane Kiffin were the talk of ESPN for over a year. It was ridiculous. -

Looks like the NCAA is alleging multiple major violations for South Carolina. Players renting hotel suites for $14.59/night. http://sc.edu/ncaaresponse/NOA.pdf Interested to see what Capn thinks... After suffering through a long, drawn-out process as a Tennessee fan, I can definitely say this sucks for any fan to have to go through. -

Can't believe no one has mentioned Carimi being out with a knee injury. That's a huge loss. Hope it's not too serious, but losing him for any amount of time is bad. It not only hurts our line, but his development as well. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 17, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) But enjoyable none the less. Notre Dame is the most hatable program in all of college sports. I feel no sorrow about kicking a program when it's down when that's all Notre Dame did for its existence. As far as I'm concerned, that program is still owed a few knocks. I could name quite a few programs that I hate more than ND. Not sure why they get so much hate, other than the fact that they're undeservedly in the Top 25 to begin every season. What else do they do to make people angry? I know so many people that "hate" Notre Dame, but they never get a good reason (other than the one I just mentioned). I am not a ND fan in any way at all, but I respect the tradition/history of the program. -

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Sep 17, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) Nice spotlight / analysis on Bray by Urban Meyer and Todd McShay on College Gameday a few minutes ago. For sure. Urban seemed very fair in his analysis considering he's talking about a Tennessee player. I imagine it's hard for him to get excited about having to break down a player for a (former) rival... This game is all about the offensive line. If they give Bray time to throw and generate at least a little bit of push on runs, look out. -

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) Chiefs season is over now. Stevie Johnson can go f*** himself. I hope someone takes out his knees too. Karma is a b****. Stevie Johnson now has an entire college football fanbase (Tennessee) that hates him. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) No coaches like Kubiak are smart. All it takes is one bad hit on Brady and a 60-0 blow out turns into a season loss. Smart coaches put the other team away, and then do everything in their power to prevent injuries to their most important players. It makes far more sense to run the score up in college where perception matters in rankings. If you beat an opponent 60-0 voters will think you destroyed them, if you win 28-27 you just got by. Exactly... I was quite upset with the decision to have Cutler play the entire game yesterday. Hanie should have been in midway through the 4th quarter at worst. The game was over and Hanie could have mopped it up well. Plus, as limited as game reps are for backup QBs during the regular season, that would have been a prime opportunity for Hanie to get quality reps against a solid defense. I honestly hate coaches like Belichick who leave starters in the whole game even when they're up big. -

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) Funny seeing a 270 lb DE/DT rumble that far and not a single Georgia player wanted any part of hitting him. Ugly game, and we still haven't clicked as a team, but hell, still 2-0. I think 10 points is WAY off in that game. Not sure why they think that Florida has shown themselves to be anything more than a 2-5 point favorite. The main thing that separates the SEC from all the other conferences are its defensive lines - they're all so big and fast. It's as close to the NFL as you can find. And Melvin Ingram is a prime example of that defensive line talent. How many d-lineman can outrun an entire team for 70 yards on a fake punt and also be on the "hands team" for kickoffs? It's amazing. -

I'm interested to see if anyone is going to give credit to Roy Williams for his blocking. I noticed him just man-handling his CB on a couple plays that allowed our guys to get better yardage (including the Hester screen pass). I can't believe I'm saying this, but we're going to miss him if he's out for awhile with this groin injury. He made a difference today in both the running and passing game. -

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) Yep, but now a real test vs a real opponent comes. Tennessee vs Florida at Florida should be a game to watch this week. I'm looking forward to that, and Auburn at Clemson, before the Oklahoma-FSU game. The video of the Bulldog in your signature is cracking me up... Awesome. And yes, going into the Swamp will be tough, but I'm very excited to see this Tennessee team against a high-level opponent. Kind of surprised to see Florida open -10. We'll see how that line adjusts through the week. -

This game has been f***ing awesome. The defense has stellar and the offense is looking real solid (left a lot of points on the field)... I live in Atlanta now and I can't wait to hear what the talk radio is like tomorrow. Gonna be in meltdown mode. -
