QUOTE (Brian @ May 5, 2011 -> 05:02 PM) I only saw him once. Good player in a tough conference but kind of surprised he is going to such a big program. Weren't other school looking at him more mid major? Sorry, can't help. Yeah, all the other schools going after him were mid-majors... That's why I'm a little surprised. Didn't know if it was a grades-thing that he got figured out late or something, but I'm sure Cuonzo just likes him from when he was recruiting him at Missouri St -

Can anyone (Brian?) tell me about this Quinton Chievous kid who just committed to Tennessee? -
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 4, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) hope bulls fans turn out strong in atlanta. I'll be there for Game 3! The Hawks are doing a "white-out" so I'll definitely be wearing my red.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 3, 2011 -> 12:35 AM) 6, id have to imagine Atlanta will win 1 game at home. I feel the same way... Just hope it's not the "home" game that I'm at.

U-S-A chants, fireworks, and partying going on at Tennessee, like the rest of the colleges mentioned in this thread. Great night. Long-time coming.... One thing I thought was cool was that my brother told me exactly how it went down before it broke on the news. While everyone was saying a missile strike, he was saying it was our "Tier One" Operators (e.g. Delta Force/CIA paramilitary guys) that likely led a ground assault... and then about 30 minutes after he told me that, the actual reports came out confirming that.

How 'bout those Grizzlies? I sure didn't expect them to do this.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) You know, that's not the worst idea I've ever heard. I'm going to Game 3 in Atlanta. Bought my tickets Friday night. Mid-court, upper deck, 8 rows up. I can't wait!

da = the sox = sox 24 = football number in 6th grade (when I first started signing up on message boards) I don't even really like my SN anymore, but I feel like it's so ingrained that I have to keep it.
-
I might see if I can get some tickets for one of the games in Atlanta since it's only a 3 hour drive.

I love the Carimi pick. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 07:32 PM) Well, there's the golfball sized hail and the upcoming Geico insurance claim. We had a ton of golfball sized hail where I live (the Fort). My car is pretty dented up, but thankfully none of my windows broke. Quite a few people in my apartment complex's parking lot did have windows smashed out, though, including my roommate.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 03:31 PM) I dunno, I'm not sure I've ever lived anywhere that has had a tornado siren. Really? Huh... I, nor anyone I've talked to about it, has lived in a place without sirens. I figured it was pretty common.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) 2nd tornado warning of the day. Don't you like that Knoxville doesn't have tornado sirens? What is this? 1950? I feel like it's ridiculous not to have any warning systems. I didn't even know we were under a tornado warning today.

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) Our exams start next week. A comparatively easy 7 page paper comparing Lincoln's and Madison's views on the shortcomings of American government due Friday for my American Political Thought class. A 10 page research paper comparing and establishing Annie Hall's influence on the romantic comedy and specifically embodied through (500) Days of Summer due Monday for my Film Analysis class. A final exam for my humanities class, The Search for Values in Light of Western History and Religion, on Tuesday. Final exam for my Modern Political Ideologies class also on Tuesday. Then home for two weeks before coming back to Memphis to begin my internship at WMC-TV 5 and helping our Math/CS/Sociology departments' summer research project, which I'll post about at a later time because it concerns MLB and may be newsmaking if things go as we hypothesize. Have to prepare for all of this while I'm giving 3+ hours per day to college baseball. This is why I wish I could play college sports some other time in my life. For instance, after college. Sweet! Are you working for my main man Jarvis? He's awesome.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 11:42 PM) Whatever happens, Corey Crawford is unreal This.
-
A little late to post, but that was exciting as f***. So reminiscent of last year vs the Preds. Such an awesome end of regulation.
-
Hahaha... Go sit down, McRoberts. f***ing b**** This game is awesome. It's what I've been waiting on from the Bulls all postseason

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) Do you know the greenhouse that sits behind the biology building on the Hill? About 1/2 of it completely collapsed. Getting home last night was an adventure. Wow, really? I used to walk by it all the time. Wish I had seen this before now - I would have walked over there to check it out.
-
I really hope the Grizzlies pull this thing out. The city is buzzing and it would be great for the city as a whole... To get not only their first playoff win, but their first playoff series win against the #1 seed would be amazing. Go Grizz!
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) Holy Hell, I didn't believe my office window could blow open like that. I didn't know Knoxville could get storms this bad. The mountains around us usually break everything up... I was in Haslam when the storm hit and the maintenance staff was yelling at everyone to get away from the glass - that's when I knew this storm was more serious than I thought. Finally got power back at my apartment like 20 minutes ago. A night without power was weird, but it gave me a reason to go to the bar and drink.
-
My Finals don't start this coming week, but next... I only have 1 final exam before I graduate, so that's nice.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) Randolph is Kevin Love's ability with an idiots brain. Randolph has actually been on his best behavior since being traded to Memphis. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but something clicked.
-
I may not be a Grizzlies fan, but I am from Memphis so... Go Grizz! Finally got the monkey off their back and won a playoff game. I'm still shocked at how good Marc Gasol has become. He was so average in high school, goes to Spain, and comes back a quality NBA big man. How does that happen?
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 11:01 PM) Why? Miami is the worst pro sports town in America and its not even close. (Atlanta is a distant 2nd) In a way, I hate that Atlanta is such a bad pro sports town b/c I'm moving there this summer. But, it should be easy to score tickets to games, so I guess that's good. To sum up Atlanta as a sports town, my roommate (who's from there) always tells the story of being at the NLCS game in the 90s when they clinched to go to the World Series, and the game wasn't even sold out. Pathetic...

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 10:54 AM) Yes, he has a better yoga routine in his 1 on 1 series. Can you download it? Otherwise I have it as a vid file. As for the question above. Choc milk is fine to mix with it if you are trying to build mass, the choc milk will actually aid your recovery because of the carbs it contains. However if you are trying to lose weight, you are taking in a ton of extra sugar and calories you prob dont need. In that same thought, muscle milk isnt really great for you if you are trying to lean out. Okay, cool. I am trying to build mass - I'm 5'9'', 143 lbs... Looks like I'll stick with the chocolate milk.
