  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 14, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) Enjoy it all you can til Monday. Thanks for the advice. We definitely f***ed that one up. Up 11 at half and we lose? Come on... Maybe they secretly switched to a women's ball on us... But I'm really not that upset. I thought this was going to be trap game (after the dominating win on the road at Pitt), especially the way they played Michigan St and Illinois. It will help in the long-run b/c that's the type of team we'll be playing the 1st round of the tournament.
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) Always loved the black sock look. Looked fantastic and still does. In fact, I hate the white sock with black shoes look. Now that looks awful. I digress. The new fad nowadays looks pretty awful. The worse is the patterns on the trim of each uniform having like three different colors. It's hard to describe without a picture, but it looks ridiculously ugly. Agreed. I always wore black socks/black cleats when playing lacrosse and football.
  3. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) that guy on the Jets sideline should be suspended for the rest of the season. What cheap shot. And so he has... Btw, it was the Jets' Strength and Conditioning coach. From Chris Mortensen's twitter:
  4. This is a positive at least (oh, looks like I was beaten to it):

    Finals Week

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 06:39 PM) I go to Rhodes. Love the school, love the city. Playing ball down here. I kind of figured you went to Rhodes. Wasn't sure what other school would bring someone down from Illinois, haha (well, maybe CBU)... Fantastic school. Love the campus as well. Memphis can definitely be a fun city. I really like it even if it does have it's problems, but it's "home" for me so that might make sense. It gets a bad rap, but has a ton of potential if the city government would ever get set straight. My girlfriend in high school lived in mid-town so I used to always be in that area. I assume you've been to Overton Square, but if not, check it out. Some good local restaurants there (Bosco's, Molly's, etc) that I would definitely recommend. Sorry to hijack this thread, guys. Anyway, Jake, if you ever have any questions about stuff to do in the city, shoot me a PM or something.

    Finals Week

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) Back home in Illinois now. Had 2 finals on Friday, and polished off a final paper Saturday night and turned in my final fiction writing portfolio Saturday morning. Hello snow. Memphis for college? Do you mind if I ask where you go? I'm from Memphis - here right now actually since I'm on break from UT. Just curious...
  7. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) *ahem* *points at avy* I think the big deal is that he did it right there on the field. That & it just looked silly. That's something you can do before the game, or in the locker room perhaps. As a Cowboys fan, I'm not upset. I laughed at it. It's more like he could of chosen a better time/place to do that. Ah yes, my bad.
  8. What's the big deal about Tashard Choice getting Vick's autograph after the game? I mean, I wouldn't do it, but I don't get the big deal over autographs in general - it's a guy's signature. To me, a picture would be way cooler than an autograph with someone. Regardless, Choice grew up in ATL and Vick was a "football superhero" to those kids. If he wants to do it, so what? It's not like he tried less in the game b/c he asked for an autograph after. Sometimes I think people care too much. DBAH0, are you upset about this (being the resident Cowboys fan)?
  9. Tennessee up to #7 in the AP. Not bad, I guess, for a football school.
  10. Oh, this is just so sad, Big 10. But I found this funny:

    Finals Week

I'm just glad I was done last week. It feels good to already be home for Christmas Break and having all my grades posted.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) Shane Montgomery single handedly took Miami's program and threw it into the toilet only to be finally fixed with his firing. I'm an idiot. I meant Michael Haywood. He was the RB coach for Saban at LSU. Haywood, I imagine, you like. Haha.
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 07:00 PM) In 2005, Miami was 8-1 and third in the BCS before losing to GT. It didnt matter anyways since USC and Texas went undefeated. Pretty excited about Golden being hired. Turned Temple around and he is a young, energetic coach with a blue collar mentality. We'll see how long he stays once JoePa dies. Here's your new coach, Zen. I love "The Final Countdown" playing in the background around the 2:10 mark.
  14. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 08:32 AM) Leave it to UF to steal the spotlight of the Heisman. Muschamp and Jimbo are really good friends, both were at LSU before the Saban/Dolphin thing. I could definitely see the FSU/UF game moving to early in the season now. That has to be one of the best college football staffs of all-time. 5 current head coaches: Saban, Fisher, Dooley, Muschamp, Mike Haywood (Miami-Ohio).
  15. I haven't been able to comment on the coaching stuff yet, so: Definitely a big fan of the Golden hire for Miami. Amazing what he was able to do at Temple. Muschamp doesn't scare me at Florida. I would have been much more worried about someone like Stoops, Petrino, or Mullen. Now, I'm not saying he won't be a good coach, but without any head coaching experience, there's going to be a learning curve. Regardless, they have so much talent it's hard not to win there. Also, it looks like Malzahn is going to take the Vandy job. That's another fantastic hire. Vanderbilt finally opened up the checkbook and got a big-time hire. I think seeing the success of schools like Northwestern and Stanford made a lot of Vandy people realize there's no reason they can't be successful too. Being in the SEC, I don't think they'll ever compete for championships like Stanford has been able to do this year, but I could see them winning 7-8 games and their fans would be incredibly happy with that. Here's the question: Will Malzahn stay for the National Championship game? If he doesn't, that's going to definitely swing things in Oregon's favor.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) A Jets player on the sideline stuck out a knee to take out one of the Miami Dolphins gunners on the punt. You can be sure the NFL and/or Jets organization will come down hard on him for that.
  17. And so it continues... Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. That's the only saving grace of this game. It's literally not possible to play any worse. EDIT: Oh my god. You know it's bad when CBS just took away the Bears game from me. Jets-Dolphins is on now. They're probably doing me a favor.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) If anyone wonders why people delight in rubbing stuff in his face, read his last string of tweets. I could see him being the kind of guy to protest at soldiers funerals. I decided to check out what he had to say following your suggestion. I would love to punch this guy in the face. Why do people even follow him on Twitter? He's f***ing awful - on the White Sox and other things as it seems.
  19. f*** you, Bears. Get off the f***ing field. A forfeit would literally be okay with me right now.
  20. Hahahaha, Manumaleuna gets run over and they call it a hold???? Oh my f***ing gosh...
  21. f*** us, right? That's the ballgame. In this weather, we aren't coming back.
  22. I half-expected to see Belichick with cut-off sleeves on his parka. As much as I hate the guy, that would have made my day.
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 04:32 PM) I didn't know it was ok to put a shoulder into the LB who's covering you. It is when you're the Patriots.

    Winter...LOL

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Schools go on 1-2 hour delays or even close here when it just drops to 20 degrees. There doesn't even need to be snow. I keep laughing. That's a fact. Sometimes they just do it as a precaution. Gotta love the South... But in all honesty, it's mainly because they're not prepared to handle it if it really does snow/ice. There's only enough equipment to handle the major roads, and even worse, people here don't know how to drive in the snow so there would be tons of wrecks and people getting stuck off the road.
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 11:41 PM) I'm awaiting the obligatory Felix: "Kevin. Love." Haha, no doubt... Felix may as well post it 58 more times and be done with it because I don't see Love slowing down.
