QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) Agreed. That was one of the very few things I didn't like about the movie. I tried not to concern myself too much with the other stuff that differed from the book since it is a Hollywood depiction after all, but I thought that plot point was important too.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) I haven't even bothered to watch the music video yet and I know not all of you guys are hip hop fans but let me know what you think of this song(it was played on WGN about a week ago): Kinda catchy... I like it. And I'll definitely play it loud for my Packer-fan roommate to hear tomorrow.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) "Kevin" from Minneapolis called into Hoiberg's show tonight. Apparently he loves all the free Iowa State swag that Hoiberg's been supplying him. Despite Hoiberg saying that Darko was his favorite Timberwolf. Haha, that's funny. -

This really was a fantastic day of college football. Not only did my team win and get bowl-eligible, but Florida lost and Kiffin lost (yeah, I don't really care about USC, but I love seeing Kiffin lose). -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) No, since the PAC 10 would have a team in the NC, the Rose would have to take the first non-AQ team and that would be TCU. Ah, yes. Okay, so just flip Stanford and TCU... -

So if Oregon and Auburn win next week, I think the BCS bowls will look like this: Sugar - Ohio St vs Arkansas Rose - Wisconsin vs TCU Fiesta - Stanford vs OK/NEB Orange - Big East #1 vs FSU/Va Tech NC - Auburn vs Oregon -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 06:58 PM) Thank you It's not going to be so easy for Urban anymore with a legit coach in the state of Florida (now I just hope Miami hires Dan Mullen). -
The only thing that sucks about going home for a weekend (or Holiday like Thanksgiving) is that I miss the Bears games when I'm traveling back to Knoxville (6 hour drive). And this is one game I'm really going to hate missing.

Wisconsin just can't seem to be stopped offensively. I feel like they would give anybody in the country a good game right now. And, of course, I couldn't be happier with Tennessee today. Went 4-0 in November to become bowl-eligible, and extended our winning streak over Kentucky to 26 straight years. I think we'll be heading to the Music City Bowl or maybe Liberty Bowl. -
Finally saw the movie last night. I really enjoyed it. I thought it went by fast and would have gladly sat in the theater for another 2 hours for the rest of the movie, haha. But really, I can't wait til Part 2 in July.

Thank you, Nevada. Hopefully this will finally shut up all the Boise St. lovers (e.g. Pat Forde). -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) They signed him, like... a few hours ago, and he had barely been in the game at that point (if at all) Exactly... I can't believe he was out there in such a clutch situation. Btw, I had a feeling about the Watson performance. I posted before the game that he was definitely capable of doing big things to win a game, and looks like I was right. Too bad we couldn't capitalize.

CJ Watson needs to step up tonight. He's more than capable of providing a winning performance at PG even if he hasn't shown it much so far this year.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) I hate Bama, but I hate Auburn and Cam Newton more. Hell yes!! This. Of course Auburn is making a game of it now due to some major missed opportunities by Bama. The McElroy and Ingram fumbles cost Alabama at worst 6 points, but likely 10-14 points. And if that had happened, I think Auburn would have folded. -
QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) The Carnival cruise ship Splendor was recently stranded off the coast of Ensenada, Mexico, with nearly 4500 people on board after it lost power following an engine-room fire. With no electricity, the cruisers were forced to eat Spam and Pop Tarts air-dropped by the Navy. And now, today's special presentation, to be sung to the tune of Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald." [ Copyright 2010 by Chris White/TopFive.com ] At first I thought you had written that, Tex, and was about to be really impressed.... regardless, job well done by the guy who did write it. Pretty funny.

I really wish I had a way to watch this Bulls game right now. Rose is so much fun to watch.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 08:38 AM) The NBAPA is 99% sure the NBA will lock the players out next season. Awesome. So there's a good chance no NFL or NBA next year... Thank God I like college sports more than Pro, but still, it's going to suck if there really is a lockout.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Agreed, the contracts that were given to Rudy Gay and Joe Johnson offseaon make Dengs' deal a lot more favorable. Not to mention the fact that Deng is putting up legitimate numbers across the board. Speaking of Gay, a lot of people were questioning that deal he got this summer, but I would say Gay's deal isn't looking that bad right now. Is he truly worth the max? Probably not. But how many players are worth a true max deal? He was going to get that money regardless, so the Grizz had to pay him to keep him. There are much worse max contracts out there, especially considering his game has seemingly taken another step this year (see game winner over LeBron the other night). 22 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast, and 49% FG (39% from 3). Those are pretty damn good numbers.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) Well this may get thrown in the buster, but I came across this article the other day. Cleveland Browns Peyton Hillis: Heisman Candidate or Blocking Fullback? I'm not modest in saying I guaranteed people that Hillis would be a stud in the NFL, and if I were the GM of the Bears, he'd be on our team right now. I watched plenty of Arkansas games being in SEC country, and I could tell he was a special talent stuck in an offense with 2 other stud RBs. I can specifically remember the LSU game where he just dominated (even with Run DMC and Felix Jones playing), and from that moment on I was a huge Peyton Hillis fan. I'm not sure I'll say he was the FB b/c he was white, though. I think it was more of a way to get him on the field b/c they had McFadden and Jones splitting time at tailback, and since Hillis was a better blocker/receiver than the other two, they put him at FB so they could always have him on the field.

Haters gonna hate... If people think they're too "cool" or "old" to read Harry Potter, that's fine. But they're missing out.
