I think my dad is drunk texting me... I've seen him drunk like twice in my life, so this is a rare occasion.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) or the home team turned up the intensity at home to get back into the game and on the 2nd night of a road back-to-back, the Bulls could not match the intensity and the other the Bulls weathered the storm. The Bulls are more enoyable to watch than the Hawks right now and I hate the NBA. Not sure what you're arguing, but my point was that the Mavs made as good of a run as the Spurs, and I'm right. That's a fact.

Well, it was really ugly but Tennessee pulled out the 24-10 victory over Vandy. 1 more win and we're going bowling. God, I hope it happens (never thought I'd get to the point where I was hoping UT could get to 6 wins, but oh well... we'll be back). -
Can't wait to see it. May go tomorrow... but it will be disappointing knowing it's only half of the book.

Good thing I took the over in the Illinois-NW game. Not sure what Vegas was thinking on that one, but they hit it at half. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) Dont know what you were seeing. Dallas never made a run near as good as the Spurs did in the 3rd quarter. The Bulls kept it within striking distance and then pounced in the end of the 3rd thru the 4th I saw what Fathom was seeing. I thought it was just like the Spurs game... The Mavs went on a 24-4 run, I believe. I don't remember the actual numbers of the Spurs run, but I'd say that's as good of a run as the Spurs made on us. I know people like to call out fathom for being negative (and he usually is, haha), but in this case I think he's right.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) Agreed. He get let off super easy. What? That's half the SEC season. Everyone, including some Kentucky fans I saw comment on it (and they hate Tennessee), seems to think it was pretty tough. -

Yankees to offer 3 years $45 million to Jeter
dasox24 replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Diamond Club
I saw this on ESPN the other day. Ridiculous. Jeter is worth nowhere near that as a player, and at 37 years old coming off his worst season, isn't likely to get any better. It must be nice to have so much money that you can afford to pay a player that much money for his charisma, leadership, and being a fan-favorite rather than his skills. Oh, and I really can't believe he wants more. He has no leverage at all. No one else is going to offer him anything close to that. -

Well, Bruce Pearl has been suspended for the 1st 8 SEC games of the season for his violations. Figured I'd go ahead and throw it out since since all you Illinois fans would be all over this soon anyway. -

Illinois has been incredibly frustrating to watch. I feel like they're clearly more talented and shouldn't be dealing with a tie game right now except they're playing dumb as s***. It doesn't even matter what the refs are calling. If they lose, they have no one to blame but themselves. -

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) No it has to be the day of, and you have to call it when you are outside. If you go outside, call shotgun, and return inside for any reason, you lose your claim on shotgun, unless you are the first to call it when returning outside Agreed. We play that you should have to have the car in eyesight too.

I really hate Scalabrine taking that 3 on the last possession. We had a bunch of momentum. He's the last guy I want taking a big shot. Cutting the lead to 4 or 5 would have been huge there.

Missouri St. was tough tonight. Kyle Weems is a good player... Glad to see the Vols hang on even though we looked sloppy as hell on the offensive end. Our defense won us this game. On to Madison Square Garden... -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) I guess I see that, but I just don't think the Illini's recent performances command that much respect. I think the Minnesota loss would be much more of a reason to fire him than any lossess to NW or Fresno. Not making a bowl game again this year might be a reason to fire him, but then again it's Illinois football. Who else are you gonna get? With the athletes in place now, I think the future is looking up, I guess you might as well keep him. That's kind of how I feel. Even if Illinois flops, loses the next 2, and doesn't make a bowl game, I think Zook should get at least one more year. I mean, he really doesn't deserve another year, but they did make improvements this year, and with a lot of returning contributors, next year's team should be better. Furthermore, I think Petrino and Koenning are pretty solid Coordinators and would be even better with another year with these kids. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) Preseason NIT it looking pitiful. Villanova, UCLA, Tennessee, and Wake were the 1, 2, 3, and 4 seeds respectively. Wake got blown out in their regional final to 5 seed VCU, who advanced to New York. UT struggled a ton with Belmont in the regional semi. I'm guessing they should fall to 6 seed Missouri State before New York. ESPN probably wants to kill someone if that happens. Belmont is usually a solid mid-major and makes the tournament often, so I'm not too disappointed with the game. That also was also a horribly refereed game, and according to a website that ranks referees, 2 of the 3 that did the game rank as the worst in the NCAA (don't have the website on-hand but saw it linked in a Tweet this morning). I have a feeling we'll take care of business tonight. Oh, and Tobias Harris is going to be really good. -

I was pulled over one night when I was 18 for looking suspicious. I was driving home when I decided I wanted some ice cream, so I pulled into a strip mall parking lot to turn around. When I pulled out, a cop come up behind me, pulled me over, and was really curious about what I was doing in that parking lot since "all the stores are closed." I literally told him I turned around so I could get ice cream at the grocery store, and I'm not sure he believed me b/c he asked if I had been drinking and 4 separate times asked if I had drugs in the car. I told him I lived about 2 blocks from where he had pulled me over, and after he ran my plates and took my license, he came back to the car and gave me a "have a good night, sir." That was it. Kind of anti-climactic considering all the questions he was asking me about where I had been, if I was drinking, had drugs, etc.
