QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 11:23 AM) No one's reported that yet. Nor does anyone seem to know who took the picture(s). Exactly... word on Rivals is that Craft's dad and the UT coaching staff got into it over Craft's de-committment, and it was his dad's way of getting back at UT. If that's true, then Craft is a b**** and so is his dad. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 10:34 AM) Yeah, he probably should have lied for the good of the Tennessee program. LOL. Good thing he has better morals than Bruce Pearl and his staff. I never said he should lie to the NCAA. But do you know where the NCAA got the picture? -
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) So happy this has finally arrived in the Chicagoland area. Every trip I see if they are in the town I am visiting to see if I need to make a stop. The Chick-Fil-A Cow and his awesome spelling gets my vote. Now that you mention the cows... Agreed.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 12:52 PM) Have you ever seen a fox? And then realized "s*** that's a fox, I've never seen one in real life"? Haha, that's funny b/c I guess that's the reaction I had when I first saw a fox on the golf course I used to work at.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 07:35 AM) I'm just happy that the coach gets in trouble there and not the student. Aaron Craft is probably going to start for my buckeyes. Aaron Craft is a b**** for ratting us out. All sorts of illegal s*** happens in recruiting - it's part of the game. And when you decide to commit to a school (Tennessee) and then commit elsewhere later (Ohio St), you don't pile on the school you de-committed from by telling the NCAA about making an unapproved visit to the coach's house. That's some bulls***. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 11:52 AM) In terms of the Gatlinburg, Sevierville, and Pigeon Forge area...you're in good shape in terms of lodging overall. They sit right at the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains national park, which is the most visited national park in America. Tourist season in the park supposedly peaks in July and October (I'm hitting it in October for the fall colorage). So, in terms of all the amenities...it's just a question of how much you want to spend. There are some really nice hotels in the area, and also your standard 1-2 room Comfort inn places, and your discount/run-down places. Just go through the standard lists at hotels.com, Expedia, travelocity, and tripadvisor.com if you want more on those. Something worth thinking about might be that there are some really nice cabins also (example search site); sorta offset from the main strip a little more, sometimes better views, lots of amenities like full kitchen, heat/AC, hot tub, etc. Google Gatlinburg cabins (or pigeon forge/sevierville etc). The Smokies are outdoorsy but might still be something you can get the wife to do. There are a wide variety of hike levels, in addition to simple nature drives and scenic offlooks. If you cross through the Smokies to Asheville, you also hit a Harrahs casino, if you're into that. It gets so many visitors that it definitely caters well to the people who aren't big-time outdoor folks. In terms of theme park/things to see, there's lots of little ones, but you sorta have to start with Dollywood. It's not a big time thrill ride park although there are a couple, but like much of that county, it's designed to be somewhat family friendly...lots of kid-level activities, shows, and the occasional wooden roller coaster. Beyond that, I'm sorta just going to list and let you find out more on your own; there's a large indoor water park, a "Nascar speed park", Ripley's aquarium of the smokies, and the Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge. There are also available smaller thrill parks, i.e. the Smoky Mountain speed park. It's worth noting that they try to keep the whole county set up as a family-friendly tourist trap, to the level that it's actually a dry county; BYOB if you go there. I can't say that TN has caves the quality of the Mammoth Cave system in KY, because frankly, I don't think they do; the geology is a little different down here and so you don't get as expansive of a weathering limestone plateau as you do in Ky. There are caving opportunities however. Depends on where you go, but here's a list. If you want more, you can check out a number of travel planners that you can request; Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and google for others. Nice job - that about sums it up... Not bad coming from the guy who's only been in the area for less than a year.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 06:44 PM) Not sure that I agree with the lack of coverage. As a proud Illini-homer, I think he's been all over the news. One thing for sure, if I were a Vols fan I'd be really questioning my school. The Kiffin mess, now Pearl? How's that AD keeping his job? Not sure, but he may not be for long... I feel like every Tennessee fan hates our AD. -
Even though I'm a Bears fan, it sucks about Ryan Grant - he was my 1st pick in Fantasy this year. Forte and McFadden are going to have to shoulder the load now.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) The Chiefs' rookies are doing work with the punt returns. I love these SEChiefs. Kendrick Lewis (Ole Miss), Eric Berry (UT) at Safety. Arenas (Bama) at CB. Dorsey (LSU) and Jackson (LSU) on the DL. McCluster (Ole Miss) being nasty in the return game. They're exciting to watch. I'll be pulling for the Chiefs to do well this year since I have zero interest in the AFC.

Thank you, Matt Forte.

22 I can't believe we've had 71 votes and no one under 18. I started posting here when I was 15.

Single... as of recently. I'm surprised with how young this board is, there aren't more people "dating." Everyone is married or single. Maybe it's because the single guys are spending too much time on SoxTalk instead of being social, haha.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) Thanks for playing, Bruce Pearl. Hope the Vols fans love that. Yeah, I'm not too worried. Bruce Pearl is the man regardless. Plus, you've got to be kidding yourself if you don't think cheating happens everywhere... even Illinois. He had too much contact with recruits - not the worst thing that could happen. At least he isn't paying players. Also, I grew up a die-hard Illinois fan, but get over it. The Pearl/Illinois thing happened almost 20 years ago. -
QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 09:42 PM) Back home, I use my dad's company gas card at BP. In Memphis, I believe it is a Chevron station that I've used. Memphis? What brings you there? As for me, regular unleaded will do for my Ford Taurus. I typically go to Shell or Pilot (based in Knoxville so we have them around town... more of an Interstate-exit gas station elsewhere).

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 05:49 PM) Haha yeah. I wasn't really arguing that Missouri has a tough schedule. I just referenced them because I'm familiar with the schedule. Most BCS teams will have a tough stretch to some degree and that's my point. It's not one game that defines a season. It's the ability to go through a brutal portion of the schedule and come through unscathed. That's what makes the SEC what it is. Even national champs haven't made it through undefeated. Oh, I know you weren't trying to say you guys have the toughest schedule or anything... I just wanted to throw that out there for everyone to see the murderer's row Tennessee has to face over the next 6 weeks. You bringing up Missouri's schedule just gave me that opportunity. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 02:07 AM) Play tough teams three weeks in a row. Run the gauntlet Missouri has this year. @ A&M, vs OU, @ Nebraska, @ Texas Tech consecutively. You think that's tough? Try vs Oregon, vs Florida, @LSU, @Georgia, vs Alabama, @South Carolina as a stretch of 5 out of 6 games (with only UAB in there b/t FLA and LSU). Of all years for Tennessee to be down, we have to play that schedule. I don't think there's a harder stretch in the country. -

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 08:08 AM) That was a fun night here on Rocky Top last night! It could be real ugly next weekend though. We have another Knoxvillian? Nice. Last night was great, but can't take much away from playing a D-1AA school except that we didn't blow it like Ole Miss or Kansas. I'm so pumped for next week - I have no idea what's is store but Oregon looked stellar. I fully expect to lose, but it'll be closer than people think. -

I must say, UNC's resilience in the 2nd half impressed the hell out of me. I was rooting for them so hard to win - I think they got f***ed at the end. The 2nd to last play probably should have been a catch (hit his hands) and the last play was pass interference, but I also don't think you can make that call at the end of the game, so probably a good non-call. And I can't believe nobody has mentioned Ole Miss losing... That's worse than Michigan losing to Appalachian St. At least App St was a multiple national championship winning team a the 1-AA level at the time. Jacksonville St? They aren't near as good as App St. Lastly, loved the fact that Florida looked so bad. Just wish that they had played someone real in their 1st game. If they had played a legit opponent today, they would have lost playing like they did... Things aren't so f***ing easy without Tim "The Savior" Tebow, are they, Florida fans? -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) Who is the 3rd QB then? Hanie or Collins

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 02:05 AM) Nah not at all. Alot of my buddies still do it at age 23-24 haha. I don't partake in it as much as I used to. Usually I'm out just getting hammered at bars/clubs (or box socials) and passing out. Well, to be fair, that's me too. We were just waiting on the campus bus to take us home from the bars and got bored waiting for about 15 minutes... I usually don't have to wait b/c I have pledges that pick me up from exactly where I am, but we won't have them for another week.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 02:00 AM) Those are always legendary. Did it a s***load of times when my buddies and I were 16-19. Classic s***. I remember one fell down and this guy either didn't see it, or was too lazy to drive around it, so he drove on TOP of the cone. Little did he know, the cone had something sticky on it and he was literally dragging the thing all the way to wherever he was driving at. Also used to love getting drunk on Halloween and egging all the high priced cars we will probably never afford to death. Pissed off alot of people I'm sure. Damn, does that mean I'm just immature? haha

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 21, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) Only shave it around once every blue moon to get it nice. I'm too much of a p**** to get it threaded. Hurts like s***. Probably the only thing I do that's considered feminine, though usually every guy has one thing they do that is considered that. Yeah, like sometimes you just gotta suck a dick... On a serious note, I pluck my stray eyebrows but that's it. I have no idea what it means to get your eyebrows "threaded" but it doesn't sound fun.

I grabbed a construction cone and dragged it along with me until I came to an intersection and put it in the middle of the street. Then, my buddies decided to join, grabbed 3 more, and we created a blockade for cars to get around - it was hilarious watching people maneuver around the cones. One dude got out of his truck and angrily threw the cones out of his way. His reaction was a little over-the-top if you ask me...
