QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 06:48 AM) Sure. I could go for Knoxville bar recommendations. As long as I'm not beaten up or robbed by a major sports team recruit. fair enough... guess you need to stay away from Bar Knoxville then. Couple of suggestions: Barley's and Pat Sullivans in the Old City Preservation Pub in Market Square (my favorite) Half Barrel on the Strip... Cool Beans right behind the Strip (next to Papa John's) Downtown Grill and Brewery (on Gay St) - they brew their own beer, and it's $2 pints most (if not every) nights. Have about 6-7 selections of their home brew on tap. I'd imagine you've been to at least one of these places since you've been here awhile, but wanted to suggest them anyway.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) What's the bar in downtown Memphis that has a bajillion beers on tap? That place was outstanding. Flying Saucer

If yall want to know about some cool bars in Knoxville or Memphis, I can contribute. Otherwise, I've got nothing since the majority of you are Chicago people.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:20 PM) We tailgate early here. I don't know what the problem is in Columbia. All that tells me is that you go to a bad football school... (of course, i can't say much... we're gonna be hurting badly this year) -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 04:37 PM) Yeah and how many college kids are going to want to wake up at 8am on a Saturday? I can count on one hand the number of times I've been awake for College Gameday in the last 4 years. But I guess when you're at a school like UT, you don't have many early starts to worry about, so I can get up at noon and still tailgait for hours. I'll tell you one reason why they're doing this - it gives Erin Andrews more airtime and people love EA. Of course, I think she's overrated, but that's another story. -
happy birthday!

Damn, how did I miss that the season started last night...? I had no idea until seeing this thread. Anybody have a good link to watch last night's episode. I do not have On-Demand for HBO.

Agreed on the leather. These are the J Crew flip flops I wear... Not sure why anyone would think this looks bad on a guy.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 05:19 AM) I've always been a t-shirt and shorts man when it's anything close to warm weather. Usually go for flip flops if I'm near the beach, otherwise it's probably slip on runners that I'd wear. I never understood those guys who had to wear jeans in summer. Maybe they have similar psychological issues to Johnny Drama with the size of their calves or something. Drama: Are those real or are they implants? Guy With Big Calves: What? Drama: Your calves, bro.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 12:15 AM) dasox loves his Bama Bangs. Haha... shoot, you can see my facebook... it's true. I've never had my hair cut any other way, even when I lived in Ohio.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 10:02 PM) Laugh, it's funny. They're in Chattanooga. I didn't even think about them playing in Chatt... When I checked their schedule, I only considered when they came to Knoxville. And since I didn't end up being able to make any of the games when they played here, I could easily have made the hour and a half drive to Chattanooga to see them. Hmm, I may have to consider that in the future.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) Hah, I was thinking the same thing. Loafers were the main giveaway. He probably also wears Ralph Lauren religiously along with his Gordon Beckham haircut... Nothing wrong with it either. Preppy is always cool. Good call... It's true. Heck, I wore white shorts with a ralph lauren button down to go out tonight.

Khaki shorts or Jeans and a Polo or button down when going out at night Khaki shorts and a t-shirt when doing anything else Flip flops/loafers/tennis shoes depending on the mood

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) I think Paraguay will upset Italy today. Almost... Nice call. I don't follow soccer really, but I never would have imagined Paraguay would almost upset Italy. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 09:46 PM) I'm not very good either. I just like to go out and play. Same here... I played for the 1st time last weekend and had a blast even if I was inconsistent. Made me want to get out there ASAP, but work really gets in the way of those plans, huh? I typically shoot around 100, which is not good but not terrible either. I did birdie a Par 4, though, because of a nasty 150 yard shot over trees (my drive went into another fairway, haha) that landed about 10 feet from the pin. Then I putted in for birdie.

I would love adding A&M to the SEC. Opens up Texas more for TV exposure, recruiting, etc. Plus, A&M doesn't scare me at all - they're solid but nothing more. Another name I'm hearing now for the SEC is Missouri, which I find interesting. I hadn't ever thought of them before, but I'd be okay with them too. -

The bar I watched the game at yesterday was slam packed (standing room only for many, though I had a chair) and the end of the game produced a great moment in American history... As soon as the game ended, the bar started blaring "America, f*** Yeah!" from Team America: World Police and everyone sang along... then they mellowed and played "God Bless the USA" and everyone sang it at the top of their lungs. It was pretty awesome/hilarious. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) Congrats to the legit Hawks fans. Agreed... While I'm very happy the Hawks won and I've always at least semi-followed the Hawks (see how they're faring, play as them in video games, etc), I would never try to say I'm a legit fan. Not like I am with the Bears, Bulls, and White Sox... So I'm very happy for you true fans. It's been a long time coming and you've put up with a lot over the years. -
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 09:28 AM) Just ordered one online b/c they were sold out everywhere here. I'm supposed to get it in 2-4 business days. Can't wait to get it! I'll report back on what I think... My Evo is so freaking awesome! It far exceeded my expectations, but then again I've never had a smart phone so maybe I'm just so amazed still at all of its capabilities.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 01:50 AM) I've been absolutely exhausted since about 2 o'clock this afternoon and haven't been able to sleep for even a little bit. Life sucks. No s***... How about finding out my ex-girlfriend (who I was in the process of getting back together with) hooked up with one of my roommates a month ago? f***ing broke my heart... And then I really f***ed up my shoulder in a lacrosse game last night and can hardly move it - going to doctor today to see what's wrong with it. Talk about a s***ty Sunday.
