I like Wooten as a player... but no s*** the Bears would draft a defensive lineman. What a surprise. Angelo just can't help himself.

While watching the NBA playoffs tonight, I saw on the ESPN bottom line that it was the 9th and Jones was at-bat. I jokingly said to my best friend who's a huge Braves fan (and loves Andruw Jones) that Jones would hit a walk-off... About 20 minutes later I found out it was true.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) Clausen to Carolina Tate to Seattle I think that both places are good for them to succeed in the NFL. Speaking of Tate, I never really realized how small he is until I saw him at a bar in Knoxville last weekend. Even though I knew it was him, it was just hard to believe b/c he looked so average among everyone else.

Thank you, Bears, for doing exactly what you should have there - Major Wright is a guy who impressed the hell out of me whenever UT played Florida.

QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 09:50 PM) Why is that great value? because hes big? fast? sometimes it only matters if you can actually play, which sometimes Mays hasn't shown the ability to do with his physical tools.. Pretty much... yeah. Just b/c he hasn't lived up to his potential doesn't mean he's a "terrible" safety as some said. That's ridiculous to call him terrible. Yeah, he's not as good as he could be but he's still better than anything the Bears have, which is why I said if the Bears still had their 2nd round pick and he was available (or a few picks away to be able to trade up), then I would have been in favor of taking him.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) Unfortunately, getting a 1st rounder this year would cost a 1st and 2nd next year. I know, which is why I definitely wouldn't want to trade up this year - not worth it... but like I was saying, if we still had our 2nd round pick, it makes it a lot more doable.
-
QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) Why do people like Taylor Mays? He cant cover.. He's definitely not the best safety, but if he goes in the 2nd, that's great value. Yes, he has his problems - takes bad angles, doesn't play up to physical ability... but if you have a shot at him in the 2nd, you take him.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) He won't make it out of the 1st round. New York, Indy or Minny will take him. Okay, so even if he doesn't make it out of the 1st... like I said, he's fallen far enough that we could have traded up to get him. Just throwing it out there.

The Bulls scared the hell out of me tonight... and it didn't help watching the game (along with the Draft) with a bunch of my buddies who were giving me so much s*** when the Cavs came back.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) haha i just dont get that from denver..... how long does taylor mays stick around .....if the bears have the means to get up to the late 30s and hes still around they have to think about it IMO....they probably don't have the means to though Seeing him still around makes me really frustrated that the Bears don't have a 2nd round pick. They could have had a shot at Mays or traded up to get him (even if trading up isn't JA's style), but they obviously have no chance at that now. Not trying to speak poorly of the late Gaines Adams, but that was such a bad trade.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 06:45 PM) i will be very afraid of Suh in future years...especially with Olin getting old and our guard situation My brother and I were just discussing the same thing... Bears better get some solid OG's 'cause the NFC North has some stud DT's in it. Btw, has any college team every had 3 of the top 4 picks? I don't think so.

What the hell was that by the Jaguars? Not liking that pick for them... Really happy to see Eric Berry go #5. He's going to be so awesome.
-
Wow, LeBron can't miss... We don't stand a chance when he shoots like this.

Who the f*** is Jamario Moon?? This guy is killing us...

Single biggest problem with the Sox over the past decade
dasox24 replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) One World Series is indicative of great success (Borat voice) of one year whereas multiple playoff appearances is indicative of consistent success. While you can never take away the Sox 2005 WS, sustained success is always the goal because it gives you more opportunities for World Series. I think 90% of people here would agree the Twins have the more successful franchise the past decade. Count me in that 90%. I agree with you completely that the Twins have been the more successful franchise over the last 10 years. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 08:15 PM) Dooley will be a good hire. I knew he could get it done on gameday coaching, but figured he would struggle in recruiting. But we saw that wasn't the case with the ridiculous way he closed out the class. Yeah, quite a few Tennessee fans are still worried about Dooley's recruiting ability b/c we have 1 commitment right now (unrated LB). All I have to know is that he pulled a Top 10 class (granted, a few of those guys had already enrolled early) with about 3 weeks to work with until signing day. Stole Justin Hunter and Da'Rick Rogers (two top-10 WRs) from LSU & Georgia. And got James Stone (4-star OT), who had been favoring Alabama when Kiffin was still at UT. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 02:17 PM) Texas Tech just finished the Red and Black game as well. I'm so damn excited to have Tuberville at the helm, everything about the way he runs the program is professional. Recruits and fans have noticed and so have the donations, it has been amazing. Tech will be the dark-horse pick for the Big 12 next year. Tuberville was such an awesome hire. He's a great coach that got screwed at Auburn... If Kiffin had left a week earlier, I would have been all over Tuberville being the next UT coach, but oh well... I like what I've seen from Dooley so far at least. -

Orange and White game today... even if it's a glorified scrimmage, i still love it cause it's football. Then possibly a crawfish boil afterwards. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) I can't believe people would be rooting against the Bulls. If we miss the playoffs and don't get a top pick, MIL swaps with us and we're a f***ed non-playoff team with the 18th pick. If we DO win the lottery, and get any of the top 3 picks, we lose our ability to sign a max free agent in the offseason, first and foremost. 2nd, you're forced to pick Wall if you have the top pick and then you have to make it work with him and Rose. And IMO, Wall is pretty overrated anyway. I think Turner is the best player in this draft. See: Oden, Durant. Third, we made the playoffs and now we have the opportunity for Rose, Noah, Gibson, and others get valuable playoff experience. We saw Rose take it to another level last year in the playoffs. He's not guided this team to the playoffs in both his first 2 seasons. Do I expect to beat Cleveland? Not at all. Do I expect us to put up a fight? Of course. There is no possible way the Bulls MISSING the playoffs helps the team. I agree with everything you said... Thank god someone can make some sense around here. -

QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 06:45 AM) I do a mixture. In an oversized container I have Total Raisin Bran (for the Health), Rice Krispies(For the crunch), and Multi-grain Cheerios (Adds a little bit of sweetness along with the lightly sugared raisins from the raisin bran.) Shake it all up, and you get "Bran-isp-ios" Sounds nuts, but it's really quite good! Speaking of mixtures, I went through a phase a few months ago where every morning I'd combine Total and Honey Nut Cheerios. I may start doing that again.

Jeez, that was nerve-wracking. I thought the miss free throws were going to f*** us... First Bulls game I've gotten to watch in months.
