QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) I'm guessing early entries don't count? I'm pretty sure you can back-count the guys who enroll early to the previous year's class if you have spots open from that, which is how schools get around it. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) Sooooo. when does that take effect? LSU has 29, Auburn has 32, Bama 29 etc Yeah, I was a little confused myself when I saw that. I'm not sure what the heck the deal is... -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Florida has a great class this year. I'm hoping we pull in C. Jones, C. Green, and C. Lemoiner tomorrow. Getting Ferguson would be good too, but I'm not too confident on that. I'm really hoping you guys pull some from Florida. Anything to hurt them, even though they'll have a great class no matter what. It always feels good when they lose out on guys they think they should automatically have (like Nu'keese Richardson last year - even if it didn't work out for us). -
As far as Jack sort of recognizing Desmond, I just think it's because they have met before. In a flashback (maybe Season 2, Episode 1), they are in that stadium when they were both running the steps and they cross paths.

I've been waiting for this for so long... Let's hope it doesn't disappoint.

If Ambles signs with Tennessee, we might have the best WR class in a long time. 2 5-stars, 3 4-stars... the #2, 3, 8, 18, and 41 overall WRs. That would be sick. -

I can't wait for tomorrow! For me, this is better than the NFL draft. But then again, I love college football more than any other sport so I guess that makes sense. And for Tennessee to have the possibility of ending with a Top 10 class still even with Dooley having 17 days to recruit before signing day speaks a lot about his ability to relate to recruits. This is gonna be fun. -
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) Here's the problem, as I interpret it -- she wants everything to go her way, even at your expense. She wants to pursue this other dufus, meanwhile, have you as a safety net if the relationship never works out. There's a saying that women are like monkeys, in that they'll never let go of one branch until the other is secure. I notice people, when seeking relationship advice, often believe their situation is unique, and maybe if we knew the nuances of their relationship we'd think differently. Breakup scenarios are always different, but people are fundamentally the same. I know you haven't said as much Wite, but keep in mind (in case you are thinking this way), that she dumped you. In your original post, it's almost as if you're blaming yourself for the breakup because you were a piece of s*** and not participating in extracurricular activities. This is where people may reply, "well, it goes beyond that, there are many other things I did," but all you're doing is putting the blame on yourself. She knew when she began dating you, two years ago, the type of person you were. You're in college, for christs sake. It's a convenient excuse, but I have a feeling no matter what you would have done with your life she would have looked elsewhere. Hell, for all you know this other guy is a complete bum. Think of all the pieces of s*** out there who are dating someone with no job, no career aspirations, nothing really to wake up for. Also, consider this -- she dumped you because you weren't involved enough in the world for her liking, in addition to being a piece of s***; as you put it. If she thinks this way, what would happen five years in the future if say you're laid off from your job? Would you worry that she'd leave you, or that she'd supportive? I suppose it doesn't matter, really, because I just think this whole 'getting your life straightened out' is crap and she's at the age where the pastor is greener in the single life. Wite, the most important issue here is that you can't let her know she can run back and forth between other guys and you, and that you'll always be there. I've always made it very clear that I don't do 'breaks' or give 'second chances.' One girl I was considering dating actually argued with me about this rule, and I told her thanks for saving me a lot of time; goodbye. To this day I still will receive random text messages from her asking what I'm doing tonight, or we should hang out. I can be a complete asshole, but I don't let women walk over me. If you told you girl tomorrow, "if you ever try this again, I won't be there waiting," and she flips out, consider it a sign that it's still on her mind and that you're bound to go through the same heartache again. Wow, Flash. That's one hell of a post. Nice advice.

I mean, yeah, it's a chick car but who really cares? I have a friend who has a yellow Xterra and we always give him s*** b/c we've never seen anyone else except girls drive that car, but really, we ride in it all the time 'cause it doesn't matter. I'd take that over my '02 Taurus with 150k miles.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 11:06 PM) Well, the SEC schools pull in 35 recruits which tips their numbers as well, even though alot of them dont even qualify. There's a new rule this year in the SEC in which no team can sign more than 28 players in a class. This basically happened b/c of what Ole Miss did last year, so you won't be seeing numbers like that tip the scales so much anymore. -
Not sure how I missed this the other day, but congrats JPN!

I guess we'll see what happens, but it's a start. Let's hope they're serious about it.

Tennessee picked up 3 new commitments today. Derek Dooley is proving he sure can recruit. With only 2 weeks to work on kids, he's already picked up four 4-stars and two 3-stars. Not bad when all the other coaches have a year on you with these kids. -
QUOTE (scenario @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) A's prospect Grant Desme retiring from baseball to join the priesthood? I'm sure that has probably happened before, but I can't remember anybody getting as far as he has and then escaping to the cloth. "Desme is leaving baseball at a time when his fortunes seemed to be rising fast. He batted .288 with 31 home runs and 89 RBIs in 131 games last year. Then he starred in the Arizona Fall League, where some of the game’s top prospects compete each year." Well.... he'll make a helluva church league player. haha, my brother and I were talking about this earlier today. You know those over-the-top church league types will be jockeying to get the Bishop to put him in their parish. I could definitely see this guy being the badass priest that everybody (particularly the young folks) love. Former pro baseball player? Yeah, I would think he was cool as s*** if I were in his parish.

Taking semester off to Co-op with General Electric. 6 weeks on the job and I really like it so far. They keep me very busy.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 17, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) Did Kiffin have a thing for Tennessee co-eds?? boundandbitten.com Obviously, that's Omar Epps and a Kiffin look-a-like... Seriously, I honestly hadn't heard heard anything about this until the last week or so, so I'm not sure what the deal is. I kind of hope Kiffin had a thing for co-eds and gets in trouble for it as long as it doesn't affect the University at all. Anything to f*** over Lane Kiffin is okay in my book. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 16, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) Tennessee proved they don't belong on this list by hiring a guy with a losing record at Louisiana Tech. It's a 2nd tier job. It's also hard to be an elite job when you have the 4th highest prestige (at best) in your own conference. Tennessee hired a "guy with a losing record" because there was no one else out there this late in the game. It's absolutely a top tier job. Look at the history. There's no question it's not... If we had been smart last year and hired Brian Kelly (yes, i liked Kiffin but at the time prefered Kelly), we wouldn't be having this discussion. Don't let 1 year and an unusual circumstance fool you in thinking UT isn't a great job. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 15, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) Tice is a great hire as our oline coach. Real proven track-record in that department and a significant upgrade over Harry. Yep, definitely a great hire. As I said a few posts ago when we were interviewing him, I'd be very happy with him as our o-line coach. Glad it wasn't as OC. -

Derek Dooley. After all the big names thrown out there, I'm disappointed. But whatever, it was a really bad time to be looking for a new coach. At least we know he can recruit (LSU Recruiting Coordinator under Saban) and is from the South. He's been called "Nick Saban Jr." Hopefully that's in regards to the coach, not the personality. -

Mike Tice? I'd be alright with that as our O-line coach. Not sure about as the OC. Honestly, I really don't know much of his history other than as the Vikings coach. I never even thought about him as a candidate. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,6522823.story -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 13, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) One of the Tennessee TV networks just floated an interesting name of a former UT assistant coach to replace Kiffin: Lovie Smith. Some guy called into one of the sports talk shows this morning and mentioned Smith, and I just had to roll my eyes. Smith would not only be a bad hire, but they couldn't pay him anything close to the Bears. If UT is going to make someone the highest paid coach in college football (which is what they would do in matching Lovie's salary with the Bears), it's not going to be Lovie Smith.
