QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) I cannot sleep at night unless my bedroom door is closed and locked. I also always put salt and pepper on my food before I take a bite. A lot of times discretely "pat" the outside of my pocket to make sure my wallet is still there. I always have a phobia of losing it. Definitely do this too. Whenever I'm out somewhere, I do a wallet, phone, keys check every time I get up or go somewhere else, etc. And I do it by patting all of those pockets to feel them there. Right front pocket (phone), left front pocket (keys), back right pocket (wallet)

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 11:08 PM) Super Bowls: Elway 2 Cutler 0 I'm not sure if this is a real argumentative point or if you're kinda of kidding about too much importance being put on winning championships. But, if your serious: Elway won his Super Bowls in his late-30's, so I'm not really sure how that applies in comparing the two at the same age. So while I don't think Cutler will ever be as good as Elway, I don't think that's the right argument to make here. Let's put it this way - Peyton Manning has 1 SB win. Does that mean he's worse than Brady, Bradshaw, Plunkett, Griese, Starr, etc. with more than 1 SB win? No. He's better than all of them, so get that SB win stuff out of here. -
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 11:34 PM) At my wedding last October, my mom surprised me with Southpaw. I'm slow with the pictures. That's pretty awesome. Very cool.

Jonathan Brown, the LB who committed to Illinois today, goes to my old high school. I saw the kid play this year and he's a stud. There's a reason he was offered by more than a few good SEC schools (kentucky, arkansas, ole miss). He plays fast and is pretty athletic. LSU wanted him as a FB. He should be a good one. Good pickup for Illinois on the recruiting trail after not having much positive going for them the last few weeks. -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) Very nice! I was just curious as I have a friend going to GE this summer for an internship at the Louisville location. So how was the first day? First day was good. Typical of 1st days, though, I'm sure. Spent over an hour with the HR woman filling out paperwork and stuff like that. Did some actual work, though (while being supervised by the old intern who's training me before he leaves). Met some people around the office. Today was much better though. Yesterday was just really boring at times. But today I did a bunch reports that I had to send out to different managers, so that took the entire morning and kept me busy. Also had to call a lady at another company about getting a shipment of ours cleared through customs to get it to a distribution center of ours by tomorrow. It was "snack day" at the office too, so everyone brought different foods so lunch was awesome. I contributed Christmas cookies. Met the main boss at my office and he was a really nice guy, so that's good. Everyone seems to be pretty close knit there. I think I'm going to like it.

The dude I'm playing had the Eagles D last night who got some lucky as breaks to score points, like the fumble bouncing off a player's foot directly to the Eagles DB who ran it back for a touchdown. Or the punt return where Jackson had like 5 yards on the sideline to work with and the Giants had terrible coverage. Of course what's even worse is that that scrub Quinton Ganther had 21 pts against me too, so I'm currently down 18 points with Fitz and Gore tonight. They better do something to even it out, but if not for Ganther or the Eagles, I'd be up by like 40.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 07:16 AM) Wow, thats exciting man! Are you working in Louisville? Knoxville... Louisville is our headquarters for Consumer & Industrial (I think), but the Industrial Systems division of C&I is located in Knoxville. So, I didn't have to move away from school.

So I'm starting tomorrow (today technically) at 8am. About to get 4 1/2 hours of sleep before my first day of work, which is probably not smart. But, I've spent the last 2 hours getting ready for tomorrow. Already packed my lunch, have breakfast set out, shaved so I don't have to in the morning, ironed my pants, etc. My 1st morning will hopefully go smoothly. I'm so pumped. I feel like a kid getting ready for the 1st day of school, haha.

Thanks for the link, JPN. Good stuff right there. And Ace, so kidding about Danks. He made that look so easy. Guess it helps to be 6'5'' and athletic.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) Illinois hires Paul Petrino as their OC. This actually sounds like a damn good hire, they must be shelling out the money. Did he actually call the plays at Arkansas or did Bobby? Either way it's a good hire, but if Paul was running the offense like a true OC, then this is a great hire for Illinois. However, offense wasn't nearly as much of a problem as defense this year, so it'll be really important for Zook to fill that DC spot with someone legit. -
I think 3 is a great number. But yeah, this is definitely a bit down the road for me, so my opinion may very well change depending on 1) my wife; and 2) my financial situation.

I like it a lot. Definitely worth the risk of him staying healthy.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 03:34 AM) I hear that the Vols are being investigated for recruiting issues by NCAA. Yeah, any time the NCAA looks at your program it's not good. But honestly, I'm not too worried. Looks like the NCAA isn't getting anywhere in their "investigation." They looked into a few things but don't seem to have any evidence. I think they're stretching for something. I mean, let's be honest. Every program cheats in one way or another. It's just a matter of covering those things up and who does it better than others. So when the NCAA looks into you, it's bad b/c there is stuff to be found. You just have to hope they don't find it. -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 10, 2009 -> 10:59 PM) Wow, Billy Gonzales is leaving UF for LSU. He was a major recruiting factor and their WR coach. They are also going to lose Charlie Strong. I'm very surprised by this. I honestly can't believe he made essentially a lateral move to another SEC school, especially considering he was coached in college by Meyer and has been with Meyer at every stop since Bowling Green. Either LSU is giving him an enormous raise or he's still bitter about being passed over as OC last year when Mullen left. -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 10, 2009 -> 12:09 AM) Joyner and Luc have both committed this week. I find it interesting that since Bobby retired we have gotten 6 commitments. Hopefully we can switch one who is currently committed to UF. I was very surprised Luc committed to FSU. I had been hearing that he was all Vol - just waiting for his parents to visit Knoxville. And then, boom, commits to FSU. Maybe Gran leaving to go there had something to do with it. Oh well, as long as yall are keeping guys away from UF, fine by me. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 9, 2009 -> 12:44 AM) Pitt is a freaking terrible basketball team. Truly awful. They were up 15-7 on New Hampshire at half time the other night, Duquesne took them into overtime and Wofford (who actually isn't that bad for a low major) only lost by 3 to them. They also got handled easily by Texas which is the only good team they have faced. They were essentially a 3 man team last year with Blair, Young, and Fields and those guys are all gone now and there is no one to replace them. s***, I figured Pitt had to have talent to replace Blair and Young. Plus, Pitt was favored by 9. I had no idea they were that bad. I'm still 100% in football mode, so I guess I need to get with the program regarding college basketball this year. You'd think I'd be all about some basketball right now too since Tennessee is in the Top 10, but I'm not there yet. After the Bowl game I will be though. I'm excited about Kansas coming to Knoxville this year. I'm sure we'll lose and Pearl will get out-coached, but it should be a great atmosphere nonetheless. -

How the hell did Indiana manage to beat Pitt tonight? It looks like they did it pretty handily. I had a 2-game parlay tonight. Took Illinois and Pitt straight up. Thanks, Pitt... -

Since I don't feel like discussing the Bulls after tonight's awesome performance... What's up with the Grizzlies? They're on a roll since they're 1-8 start and just beat the Cavs tonight. 8-4 in their last 12 games. -
Speaking of Business Law, I'm studying for my Business Law final exam right now. Not looking forward to taking this thing, but that's cause I feel unprepared. Anyway, back to normal discussion. I just found the topic of this thread to be fitting since that's what I've been doing all night. Hmm, I just contributed nothing to this thread...

I think C definitely before the rest. Best division record of the 3, but more importantly, they have the most total points of the 3 teams.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 6, 2009 -> 04:52 PM) I know he wasn't at UT very long, but what's the word on Eddie Gran? I heard he'll probably leave us too as soon as Tubbs gets a HC job. He's going to FSU. He's a great coach. I'm pissed we're losing him. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 09:33 AM) Snuck Fow. Hahaha, I can't believe it snowed this morning. I had no idea. It only snows like 2 or 3 times a year here and that's usually in January/February. Never this early.

Tennessee-Virginia Tech in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl... Not excited at all about the match-up. But, I'm excited we're playing in ATL because I plan on going, which means I'll be spending my New Year's Eve in Atlanta. Should be fun. -
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) Hair testing is very expensive from what I hear, so unless it's a gov job, it's probably the 'wizz quiz'. My high school hair tested randomly throughout the year (each student at least once). It is pretty expensive, but it sure as hell kept drugs out of my school which was pretty cool. The first time I saw cocaine was in college. Though, my high school was ranked #1 (not sure how they actually do studies to find this stuff out) in the state of Tennessee in alcohol use, so I guess everyone just substituted alcohol for drugs. Though, if there's a lesser evil of the two, I'd rather high schoolers be drinking than getting into drugs (other than weed at least).
