  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 12:40 AM) And we let them off the hook! That exactly what I thought of too when I read that...
  3. QUOTE (chunk23 @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) Seahawks have been hit worst by injuries of all NFL teams (10 starters so far), so we have a pretty solid chance next week. This team looks really talented, it's just a matter of putting it all together. On ESPN today, Tim Hasselbeck made a joke about how his brother was the QB of the team he was playing in Fantasy Football this week, so he was hoping his brother would get hurt... Whoops.
  4. OOHHHH, he missed it again! Your time to shine, Jay.
  5. I just wanted to hop on here and say I've seen a ton of pretty obvious holding by Steelers linemen and none have been called. I know they say you could probably find a hold on most plays, but this is getting ridiculous.
  6. Really can't be too upset by the way Tennessee played today, though we really could have won. If not for a dumbass play by Gerald Jones stepping out of bounds on a route in the endzone, Tennesse would have had 4 more points with a TD instead of the FG they had to settle for. And then of course, the epic fail of not tackling Tebow on 3rd down in Florida territory when UT had 2 defensive players ready to tackle him behind the line, when one dove and missed and tripped the other guy. That play was lucky as s***. 99 times out of 100 the defensive players take Tebow down, and Florida punts rather than scoring a few plays later. Chris Low (from ESPN) said it best - If Florida doesn't have Tim Tebow, they don't win that game. Or if Tennessee had some semblance of a passing game, Tennessee wins that game." Too bad we just couldn't finish. 2 FG's in the red zone can't happen when you're playing a team like Florida.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 05:35 PM) So, at the risk of this falling into the "TMI" category, but my wife and me both woke up a few mins before the alarm this morning so we started having sex and about 5 minutes into it my 2-year old son woke up early and walks his happy ass into the room and climbs up in the bed with us. I was like WTF lil dude, why now? Now that's just bad timing...
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 05:03 AM) I'm joining you. Good luck. I'm going to try to sleep for 3 hours or so...
  9. 1st all-nighter of the semester... It's good to be back in school, haha.
  10. Looking good. I can't imagine all the hard work and discipline that goes into losing that weight, so congrats.
  11. BA ranked Morgado as the 13th best college prospect for next year's draft. http://www.wbir.com/sports/story.aspx?stor...mp;provider=rss
  12. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 11:05 AM) Thanks for saving me the trouble of finding the Snopes link to debunk this chestnut. . . . During a recent speech, Bill Gates talked about company vice presidents and their fancy car phones. Man, I wish I could get me one of these babies to show tthe world I have ARRIVED!! As soon as I read that part, I was like "Since when is the mid-90s considered 'recently'?" I remember my dad's carphone. We had to put the antenna on top of the roof of the car for it to work. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Good stuff, btw. Definitely true.
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 10:47 PM) The Raiders look pretty good. Wait, what? That's why I bet on them tonight (+10.5).
  14. Why not? Gotta do something to keep this going...
  15. According to ESPN, the Bears have contacted Derrick Brooks about joining the team. I wonder if that means they'd put Briggs at MLB and move Brooks to his old weakside spot 'cause I don't think Brooks has enough left in the tank to cover all that area the Mike has to in our defense. But, I think he could still help us out.

    Checking in...

Sounds awesome. Makes me want to travel abroad.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 08:45 AM) Urlacher out for the season. Awesome. Of all the players to suffer a bulls*** wrist injury on our team, it has to be our most important piece that covers all that ground in the Cover 2.
  18. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 12:52 AM) PCL's aren't season-ending. Right? If it's just a sprain, then maybe 2-4 weeks.
  19. f*** it... The Bears played f***ing miserable and still had a shot to win. There's 15 games left. No need to freak out, but that was a terribly played game by the Offense and ST. Defense was fine except for one (huge) play.
  20. Just our f***ing luck that one of the best long snappers of the game gives the Packers 3 free points for messing up... Thank god the defense is playing great, even without 2 starting LB's.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) It may be poor taste... but. Not funny.
  22. This is cheesey as hell, but that's the point... They showed it during halftime of the game Saturday, and all 100,000 people erupted at the end of the video (you'll see why if you watch it).
  23. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) You guys hang on my every word, even the dangling participles. Do you also speak Russian in French?
  24. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 09:38 AM) According to Rotoworld, Iverson is about to sign with the Grizzlies That would be awesome. I know it has been a rumor for quite some time, but if it really happens, I think it's a move that would be smart from a marketing standpoint for the Grizz, and they desperately need some fan support. Not sure how he'll rub off on the young guys though. I can imagine he won't exactly be "friendly."
  25. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) Nothing against Berry, but unless he has roughly 65 interceptions, he won't win. 42 tackles (4 for losses), 1 sack, 7 INT... What if he does that with 3 TD's on offense/special teams? Answer: No he shouldn't win with those kind of stats, but that's what Charles Woodson did when he wrongfully won the Heisman when Peyton Manning was by far the best choice. 3,819 yards, 36 TDs, 11 INTs, and completed 60% of his passes. Meanwhile, UT was 10-1 and ranked 3rd in the country. If any of the Big 3 QBs (now Big 2, I guess) do that this year, sports writers will jizz all over themselves and automatically pick that QB as the winner. Seriously though, as Lou Holtz, Bob Griese, and Terry Bradshaw all referred to that year, sports writers were more voting against Manning than they were voting for Woodson. Not sure why, but it's sad.
