QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 02:40 PM) Keep an eye on Eric Berry I love you. I don't think he'll win it, but he sure is amazingly talented. He almost had a pick 6 on the 1st series against WKU last weekend, but the WR got his hand on the ball just enough to make it incomplete.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) I wouldn't worry about recruiting much. It's pretty clear that if Lane Kiffin has problems at Tennessee, it won't be related to recruiting. Oh yeah, our recruiting here is going to be amazing. Top 5/10 classes every year as long as this staff is around. But, we literally have no QB's for the future. We have 3 scholarship QB's right now, and 1 is a JUCO transfer that I don't think will ever amount to s***. He had no other D1 offers then UT came in late in the game essentially b/c we needed more than 2 QB's. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) Sweatin bullets is an understatement. Our season was almost over 50 minutes into the first game of the year. No way is our freshman backup ready to take on GT,VT and OU plus a game at UNC this year. Too bad you guys lost Cannon Smith. He would have been a legit backup... Just kidding. That kid sucks. He couldn't even start at my high school. We always got along well, but I don't feel bad saying he sucks as a football player. -

Rivals 4-star QB, Tyler Bray (#6 Pro-Style), committed to the Vols today. We desperately needed that. What a relief. -

Great game tonight. I really thought FSU was gonna pull it out, but I thought they had some poor play-calling and clock management to end the game. Regardless, Miami fought hard and Jacory Harris looked legit tonight. -

I like 1, 3, and 4 a lot. 9 is pretty good too if Colston plays like 2nd half Colston instead of 1st half Colston. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 04:15 PM) If you want to "sing Rocky Top all night long" after the game with Lane, go. If you need the money, sell it. In all seriousness, have you been to the Swamp? If not, I'd go. It would be cool to see your team playing there regardless of outcome. If you have been there done that and really need the money, consider selling it. Someone should be a single somewhere, maybe a group of 2 now wants a group of 3, etc. Personally I think if you can swing the money aspect somehow, I'd go. That should be a great atmosphere and it's fun to see your team in enemy territory. You make good points. I have not been to the Swamp, and I'd really love to. A few of my friends have said they might go, but if they don't, I don't want to go by myself. If I had friends for sure going, I'd definitely go. So I guess I was just thinking if I buy the ticket for myself and then people decide not to go, would I still be able to sell it? I have the ticket reserved until tomorrow, so I guess I'll be deciding soon. -

Got a question for you guys... I just found I won the student lottery for Florida tickets, but I have to pay $70 and I only get 1 ticket (which pisses me off). Apparently, you have to request 2 tickets if you want two before they do the lottery, which isn't how it used to be in years past. Anyway, I wanted to sell the ticket b/c I need money and there's no point in likely watching us lose in Gainesville, so should I buy the single ticket and hope it sells? What are the odds someone will want a single ticket (cause I know most people will want 2 so they have someone to sit with)? -
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) I don't know if you are able to talk about coaches anymore Kiffin may be cocky as s***, but he doesn't ban media from news conferences for talking poorly about the program like Weis does. He's instilled so much confidence in the program (both fans and players) it's awesome. I love the guy. He's made me more excited for a football season here than I've ever been in the past. And while I grew up an Illinois fan (my dad and whole family went there), Zook is a joke. He's f***ing awful. I was so pissed at the performance they gave on Saturday. What a joke. Illinois didn't look prepared at all... Zook is a great recruiter, but I see why Florida fans hate him with a passion. I don't think Illinois should fire him, though, even if they don't do well this season b/c he's the best they're going to get. Illinois is a middle-tier program as much as it saddens me to say (since I was an Illinois fan for my entire life), but they're nowhere near what they should be. I thought they should be top-tier every year, but after the Missouri game, maybe they just aren't that good. Edit: So I was hammered and thought this was the college football thread when I posted this, not the ND thread, but i'm leaving my Illinois rant anyway.

So I'm trying this thing at a pretty nice bar downtown where I'm trying to have every beer on their menu. They have over 200 beers, and I've had like 7 so far, so I'm not close at all, but I've only been there twice now. Tonight I had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Woodchuck Amber, Rogue Dead Guy Ale, New Belgium Fat Tire, and Sweetwater Blue. All added to my list. Not sure I can keep this up, though, as it's expensive as s*** (especially for a college kid) to buy all these beers. But whatever, the atmosphere is awesome, and it's better than those places where people (underage kids) are trying to get f***ed up on $2 PBR tallboys.

I just hate Weis. He's a control-freak, jackass that can't handle criticism. A wannabe Belichick, but nowhere near as good of a coach. I like ND otherwise. When I went to my 1st ND game last Fall, I had a blast. Completely different atmosphere than an SEC game, but just as cool I thought. So much tradition there. Plus, Rudy is my favorite movie of all time, so that may help.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) I was making progress with a girl that I met a few weeks ago last night...My stomach had other ideas as I got sick all over her dining room. Kinda hoping I didn't blow it. My roommate 2 years ago peed in a girls bed one night (he pisses the bed when he drinks too much). Then they started dating for like a year. So you never know...

Well, just got back from the game, and the Lane Kiffin era has arrived! It may have been Western KY, but besides the 2 early turnovers, Tennessee played flawlessly. 63 points is something I haven't seen from Tennessee in a long time. The defense is nasty. WKU had something like -20 total yards at one point in the 3rd quarter. -

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) What are you expecting tomorrow against W. Kentucky dasox? I'll be interested to see that one, and Okla St vs Georgia of course. But ABC screwed the pooch on that one. We are in a tiny sliver of South Carolina that will instead, get Baylor vs. Wake Forest. WTF? Honestly, I expect to put up at least 35+ on WKU while holding them to no more than a fluke TD or something. I could see a final of, like, 38-10. But more importantly, I'm just excited to see how a lot of our freshman play since we have so many in the 2-deep. Oh, and it's Game Day! -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 04:55 PM) I agree. I bet if he didnt go after the fans then he wouldnt have seen more than 3-4 games. That's what I think did it too. Just for punching that BSU player, he would have gotten a few games. But, you can't go after a fan like that no matter what might have been said to him. -
QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 03:18 PM) Which one? I cousin is the founder of Hair Bangers Ball. Well, turns out I was wrong. Not 80s tonight. Rap/Hip-Hop/Funk (Culture Sol)... I guess they play old and new stuff, which I love cause I could go for some Rick James or The Commodores (or a lot from that era, really). And if they play Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight," that will make my night.

In my intramural football game tonight, we were tied 12-12 with 1:05 left in the game and ended up winning 34-12. Ridiculous finish.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 07:59 PM) And they don't know what's coming when he's out at WR? Well, if he runs off the field, the defense can make personnel changes to better match-up with the Wildcat, whereas if the QB stays on the field and they go into the formation coming out of the huddle, the defense is stuck with whatever personnel is on the field. -
Pretty spot on. I would love to see all of those things.
