  1. it wasn't a strong draft outside the top 5 to 10 from what I've read, but I don't think Rhett Lowder would've gone before Hagen Smith if they both were in this draft
  2. Pirates are in their competitive window now though, you can't compare them to the current Sox.
  3. I would demand at least 1 FV60 guy for Crochet, I'm getting Dominguez from the Yanks, some of their fans seem to be okay with giving up Jones, but I want the higher upside guy in Dominguez sucks that he's hurt though, again. oblique. and he had TJ last Sept. I feel like this is a guy who you could fairly argue as a center piece for Crochet
  4. he set the NCAA strikeout record lol, the only reason he went 5th is injury concerns. his 17 strikeout game vs OSU, yeah he only threw 78 pitches. his ceiling is probably higher than every pitcher in our system.
  5. Why would you rush Hagen Smith to the bigs if you don't expect to have a competitive team for at least 2-3 years. even if he's ready, why would you start his clock before the team is even good. keep reading that he could be on the team in 2025 or 2026, are you kidding me. If he's dominating the minors, try to extend him to a team friendly deal for like 8+ yrs, at least you've got him for a couple more years I've got bad news for those people who think the Sox are gonna be good in 2 years
  6. Dollar Store franchise with unqualified people tending the cash register
  7. Is it pretty common to draft a pitcher on day 1 with a control rating of 40? I would imagine that being a HS pick, they feel like they could clean up his command and it wouldn't be an issie
  8. Leasure is a god damn liability to even have him on the roster, adios dude, please leave
  9. Wetherholt either wants too much money, or his medicals are susssssssss
  10. yeah but i think last minute desperation will probably kick in, Dodgers entire rotation is more/less hurt right now
  11. Crochet is getting dealt, there's your bats
  12. Use a decent adblocker https://mlbbox.me/2024-mlb-draft-live/mlb/stream-1
  13. the pitching is definitely done, I feel like these people haven't bothered to look at his stats lol, dude isn't very good
  14. i want the highest upside player available, hope they go with either Griffin or Wetherholt, if not those guys then Smith or Burns
  15. Condon, the 40 Speed top 5 draft prospect
  16. I agree, I think Maldonado is probably gone, I'd imagine a few relievers aren't gonna be here anymore either. If Moncada manages to come back a couple weeks prior to the deadline, I could see him being dealt assuming the Sox pitch in some cash. I think a contender would take the gamble on Moncadas upside for 2+ months
  17. you think a team with half the talent is gonna win more games after July 30th? I want what you're smoking. you realize they're probably trading away everyone who has a pulse, right lol
  18. the Orioles, prior to their recent prospect warehouse, were the ass end of the league for years, he wasn't talking about the current Orioles
  19. Do you think they probably overused him to this point? Honestly I don't think anyone would say that they've been conservative with his innings thus far. this is why I feel like they were always going to trade him before the deadline, they were showcasing Crochet
  20. question I have is, will the Sox spend money on real talent in the off season, because we will have almost an entire roster to replace. RF, 3B, SS, 2B, 2 to 3 starters, a backup catcher, possibly an entirely new coaching staff. if they think they're just gonna turn the Sox into Charlotte/BHam Midwest, the record next year probably won't differ from 2024 too much
  21. wouldn't we have seen a decrease in FB velo if he truly was coming to a wall? he was hitting 98 in the 2nd inning, I know he was hitting 98 to 99 in his last start my question is, are they shutting him down because of something they saw, or is this 100% "preventative maintenance"
  22. do people really think the Sox are gonna start the clock on any of their top 10 prospects next year, or even this year (on 7/31). obviously Thorpe is here, but Colson, Baldwin, Schultz? Schultz has been on a 4IP limit all year they're gonna be bad next year, whether it'll be worse or better than 2024 I don't think matters much. it'll be comparable that's for sure
  23. this move absolutely decreased his value
  24. I mean in general, can being the worst team in baseball give you an advantage on the waiver wire
