  1. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 12:32 PM) I'm just afraid the Sox AB approach outside of Thome and sometimes PK sets up for the D-Train to dominate he had a no-hitter into the 6th the last time we faced him
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) I hope Willis has one of his classic 5 walk innings. Those are always fun. 5 walks, 0 runs scored, White Sox baseball.
  3. this has always struck me as odd, but what difference does it make if the guy is jewish or not? who was the last latvian orthodox sox player??
  4. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:45 AM) Firesale of who? These guys I'd put on the bubble right now: Count, Colon, Betemit has already been DFA'd, Gobble, Fields, Getz, maybe Nix but I think he's our UT player Count is the only one who is expensive and we can't move his contract without taking on another bad contract. The other players make very little if not the minimum. Moving any or all of those guys wouldn't constitute a firesale IMO. If we're going to run off a firesale then I'd expect to be hearing about Thome, JD, PK, Linebrink, maybe Jenks, Dotel, but who can take on those contracts? I guess I just don't see it. I see activity, and lots of it, but shedding major contracts of players who are coming off the books anyway doesn't seem to make a ton of sense when there's no one to replace them with. specific names he gave, jenks, dye, dotel
  5. Joe Cowley predicting a firesale coming.
  6. QUOTE (Big Daddy Kool @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) Is that a high walk rate? averaging like one walk every 2 innings, yeah that needs to come down a bit also, if gordon and aaron are "major league-ready" at 22 years old, why isn't Danks2?
  7. I don't want Ozzie Guillen anywhere near this team if it's going to be infused with youth, he's a terrible f***ing manager when working with younger guys, he's a veteran-friendly manager, but he'll ruin guys like Beckham and Danks, and who's to say he didn't severely stunt BA's growth as a full-time player granted I don't think BA would've been 5-tooler, but who's to say he couldn't have been better than what he is now, under the guise of someone else
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) Wow, I'm likin this Contreras kid. Maybe he can be the long term answer at the back of the rotation. Colon needs to just come out of the bullpen, he won't be successful in the rotation with one f***ing pitch and a mediocre pitch at that
  9. Perhaps when Beckham forces himself to take more pitches, even if they look hittable, just so he can start getting used to pitchers release points that he hasn't faced before, or he might just need more looks at these guys, he'll start hitting the ball like we know he can he doesn't look good though, but he needs to still play every single day if he's up here, sitting on the bench is the wrong way to groom him
  10. welcome back Jose! let's hope 3rd time through the lineup doesn't have any effects on him
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) Two of the scariest words imaginable: contract extension whatever, if he has somehow found a new approach that can be a permanent adjustment for him that allows him to continue this for more than the rest of this year, I have no problem with it assuming jermaine is gone next year, or at least DH'ing and not playing a corner spot, that would open up a corner spot for pods and cq could stick in a corner spot, it would leave an opening for perhaps danks2 ? or someone not named brian anderson
  12. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) It's a rebuilding year and that's ok. I'm at the point where I want to see Beckham at short everyday with Ramirez at second and Fields at third. WHERE DOES BRIAN PLAY THOUGH? Oh, nowhere. Get him as far from this team as POSSIBLE. Well, he can be a DRep
  13. Why are we bad? f***ing simple. We have decent veterans with BAD youth
  14. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) f*** you Ozzie, you dumbass. Hey Ozzie, Beckham went what, 3-4 against Bonderman in AAA with 2 doubles? WTF, he's not good enough. Screw you, get the f*** out of town, I'm tired of your s***. Ozzie Guillen isn't smart enough to manage a struggling team. You heard it here first! That's honestly my true opinion on this, he's a good manager for a team that's playing well What this basically means is I don't think he's a very good manager
  15. it needs to be said, every pitcher in our rotation that has a bad game isnt an isolated incident, 90% chance of it being followed by another bad start
  16. Wise is such a bad player, put pods un CF and live with the D, put getz at 2b and leave beckham at 3rd, for the love of god Ozzie
  17. Bring up Jordan Danks, I mean why not at this point, you brought up Beckham. Might as well start the train
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) The phillies really need a closer any chance we could pry Victorino away from them with Jenks? I don't think Victorino would fit well into our future
  19. lol i cant stop thinking about how pathetic it was to have the bases juiced with no outs, and we scored a run off a walk, and had no hits lol, who does that, i mean really?
  20. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 04:00 PM) If we sweep Detroit, we'll could still be in first place by the end of the homestand. We'll win probably two of those five games, that's my generous prediction
  21. It's gonna be a rough couple of years for Sox fans after 2009, because our talent evaluator thinks Brian Anderson, Dwayne Wise, Brent Lillibridge (ARE YOU SERIOUS), Chris Getz, Jayson Nix, Josh Fields, Wes Whisler, Jimmy motherf***ing Gobble, and on, and on, and on, are major league ready, "Impact Players". That's what you said right Kenny? They were impact players. Admit it Williams, you drafted Beckham because you f***ing read Soxtalk and stole the idea from us, dips***
  22. seriously, what the f*** man we load the bases, with no outs we get one run, because of a bases loaded walk not a single player who stepped to the plate after the bases were loaded were able to get even a f***ing base hit single that right there is organizational failure, thanks Kenny, thanks for being a terrible talent evaluator
  23. 2009 Chicago White Sox are easily the worst team in baseball, at least right now anyways. There's no other team as bad as this one, and I'm being serious with that Prove me wrong? Nice swing though on that liner from Gordon
