  1. like, in baseball, aren't you supposed to be able to hit fastballs how long before josh fields is just another has-been?
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 19, 2009 -> 11:03 AM) Just to point out, the current lineup has lost quite a few games in a row. you don't think they're underachieving? i'm not saying they're going to turn it around and end up above .500 at the end of the year, i'm merely pointing out what would happen if they completely blew it all up and went with all league-minimum players it would be unbearable even compared to what we're currently watching
  3. Let's turn this already unwatchable team into something even more unwatchable. I'm not arguing that we shouldn't unload some guys, but some of these threads are hilarious. Let's dump every guy with a salary above league-minimum, and create something even more hideous. You want the Chicago Nationals? Well, at least they have Adam Dunn. Dumping Konerko, Thome, Dye, Thornton, Dotel, Jenks, Linebrink, AJ, leaves us with holes to fill (with most likely unready players) at: 1B DH RF C We're already sitting at question marks at 3B, SS, 2B, CF That leaves us with a question mark at every starting position. It also completely annihilates our bullpen, which stands behind an already horses*** starting rotation (I'm looking at you Clayton "1:1 strikes-to-balls" Richard and Gavin "I left my balls in Maryland" Floyd) At least we have a corner outfielder who, hopefully, might be good and would ..maybe, resign with the blown-up firesale Chicago Whitesox, who won't be competitive for what could be a decade, easily I wouldn't spend a dime on tickets to watch a terrible prospect-laden baseball team fight it out for 4th place for the next 5-6 years, and that's a generous time estimate
  4. I have a date with Step 4, during tomorrow's post-game
  5. Stick a fork in Jose. Stick a fork in him 2 weeks ago, actually.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 6, 2009 -> 06:57 AM) The caulfield bashing obsession is becoming comical. agreed, lets get the girls some pompoms
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2009 -> 09:08 PM) Disagree, he was one of our smartest hitters last year. He's just struggling right now, and he's trying to hit an 8 run homer every AB. It's real simple...he's opening up so early, it's disgusting. Stay closed, and he'll start hitting a lot of the pitches he's not close to hitting. Disagree, he saw a lot of hittable pitches last year because the league wasn't ready for him. The league has responded, and he isn't smart enough to respond himself
  8. QUOTE (zenryan @ May 5, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) f*** this team and f*** alexei ramirez. This isnt just a slow start for him. He gets out the same exact way every time he's at the plate. The league has adjusted to him and he isnt smart enough to make his own adjustments. This is the key here. He's a stupid baseball player.
  9. Gavin Floyd, Alexei Ramirez, Lance Broadway, Jose Contreras, Scott Podsednik, Jim Thome, and Brent Lillibridge are horse s***.
  10. This ballgame is OVAH! Bullpen BURNED! Get ready for a nice losing streak, and passing up cleveland for last place in the central.
  11. burned our whole f***ing bullpen out for this gotta love baseball
  12. only way we can score is with homeruns, pretty ridiculous 1 out triples, leadoff doubles, doesn't matter if we can't get the ball to fly over the fence
  13. You know this team is done when you're getting triples by AJ and still can't bring him in with a simple ground ball. Ramirez is about the dumbest hitter in our lineup, he has zero strikezone judgement
  14. Alexei needs to be sent down, he's done. Bring up Beckham.
  15. Pulling balls on the outside corner is cool
  16. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 5, 2009 -> 07:33 PM) Octavio yelling at his magical friend as he walks off he's yelling at soxtalk
  17. i think Dotel is having mental issues with the mound & the rain, it's sad to see that affect him as a veteran pitcher but what can you do
  18. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 5, 2009 -> 07:17 PM) wow is all I can think of to say. One guy is a HOF'er the other may not hit 50 career home run you can not be serious seriously, that's your argument? thome doesn't bunt for the same reason as dye and konerko don't bunt, because they'd be better off swinging the bat it's the same for Alexei
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ May 5, 2009 -> 07:07 PM) Alexei is hitting under the mendoza line and then some. Asking him to bunt to help the team shouldn't be asking too much, especially since I'm sure that he's well aware how bad he's been so far this year. Thome .221 Alexei .216 I've never seen Thome lay a bunt down
