  1. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 06:06 PM) he was safe. glad umpire made a bad call it was close, it looked like cabreras glove grazed millars sock, if any contact was made
  2. when gavin gives up the first hit, it'll be interesting to see how he pitches out of the stretch edit: first hit there, crede couldn't make the play gavin had problems pitching out of the stretch last year and in spring, fwiw
  3. Guthrie keeping his team in it, this could get scary later on.
  4. Uribe is so unbelievably bad, he's getting worse seemingly in every at bat.
  5. guthrie carving meatballs down the middle of the plate and has been for the whole game, and yet we can't get good wood on the ball, ugh
  6. big jim ties Mays for 18th all-time career walks (1464), congrats meanwhile, PK erases the walk with a GIDP, damn.
  7. i guess Gavin didn't get the memo "You can only pitch well against Detroit."
  8. 1-2-3 for gavin, nice start, fell behind 1-0 on each batter though
  9. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) Got the Baltimore broadcast and I gotta say Gary Thorne and Buck Martinez are a good team. Thorne has a great announcer voice.... i watched the archived broadcast from last night, they are definitely a great duo. they spoke highly of the white sox throughout most of the game, in fact they split it up about 50/50 for each team, it was a very insightful broadcast
  10. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,7392800.story Quentin's crush
  11. man, this is going to be an exciting april/may and probably june for sox fans, we're 9-5 (amazing) and aren't really hitting the ball like i'd like us to be (Konk, where art thou?) with that said, we're 9 and friggin 5 and i'm thrilled about that, but at the same time... i dunno about anyone here but every day i feel as if i'm waiting for the train to derail and all of the sudden we start slipping to 2nd, then 3rd then maybe further in the standings. maybe it's because 2007 was so BRUTAL that i'll probably never be completely confident in this team until all 162 games are played. does anyone else have that false sense of security with this team, so far besides me? it's different than in 05, we were just dominating everyone and had a pretty nice lead at the end of april, but this year we have KC and even the Twins not too far behind us go sox
  12. good game, would've liked to see more O' figuring who was throwing against us who pitches tomorrow, floyd? it'll be nice to see him face a lineup other than detroit
  13. great, another lefty pitching against us tomorrow, when will the madness end? edit: i hope he doesn't make our hitters look foolish, his stats are very bad, he had a WHIP last year of about 1.6, and he's off to a really bad start this year (9.2 IP, 7.45 ERA, 1.84 WHIP, 3 HR, 7BB, 8K) this should be the exact type of pitcher we need to face with contreras on the mound, to have a chance
  14. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) they gots problems.....now betancourt moves from set up to closer...jensen lewis looked a bit shaky and still can't really be trusted...and kobayashi is an untested rookie ....this leaves alot of question marks in their pen jensen lewis didn't look shaky at all, he K'd two hitters with a really nice 2-seamer on the outside corner, and tek hit a solo shot off a very well located pitch outside and down, tek just went oppo with it and had enough to get it over the wall lewis looked pretty damn good IMO
  15. 1. Chicago 2. Kansas City 3. Minnesota 4. Cleveland 5. Detroit is 2008 the friggin bizzaro world or something? lol
  16. Quote from Crede yesterday: "I can't recall a time since A-ball that I've started out feeling this good, this early."
  17. Buster Olney this morning on M&M "I was speaking to my good friend Peter Gammons about the Chicago White Sox, and we both feel that we didn't give this team enough of a chance in the off-season, but with the additions Kenny Williams has added, we feel this team is definitely for real." This was pretty much what he said, after stating the Royals and Twins weren't really going to be contenders this year. So ESPN'ers finally giving this team a chance at going to the playoffs in '08, heheh
  18. did anyone catch gavin's post-game interview "the last two years I felt like I was pitching in someone else's body" interesting.
  19. QUOTE (TLAK @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 04:41 AM) I like tall pitchers of beer. daggum right.
  20. i can see this game going either way, with both teams scoring a ton of runs.
