  1. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2963269 Myers, 38, was 3-0 with a 2.66 ERA in 55 games for New York this season. He pitched one inning Sunday, allowing one run on two hits. He had been struggling against left-handed batters, who hit .312 against him this season.
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 06:33 PM) PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?! DON'T TALK ABOUT PLAYOFFS!! I JUST HOPE WE'RE LUCKY ENOUGH TO WIN A GAME!! we're talkin' about practice not a game, not a game practice we're talkin' about......er, sorry, it doesn't fit ;(
  3. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) Are any of those players under investigation by the feds? Do any of those players have multiple books written about them with very specific information in it? How are those players perceived by the media? Are any of them viewed as badly as him? There couldn't be a reason for that, could there? Where there is smoke, there is fire. there would be investigations behind them if they had accomplished 20% of what bonds has in his career, because they have not broken records, there won't be any federal investigations on their part, it's that simple the only reason barry is being investigated by the federal government, is because he's breaking very important records, and he's breaking them because he's an amazing hitter you can look at numerous players who've used PED's, and none of them have accomplished what barry has, that's a testament to his skill, not the drug's he supposedly used
  4. :sweep: .500 since the ASB! lol 32 consecutive batters retired by bobby
  5. it's becoming clear to me that our pitchers struggle the most when we build up a big lead, and they have to pitch to overly-aggressive hitters that are swinging out of desperation to shrink our lead
  6. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 10:50 PM) For the day, yes. For the series, no. obviously
  7. KW, if you're reading this: give up on floyd, he's not good enough
  8. i'd rather bring in vazquez and save jenks for the 2nd game
  9. bases loaded, 0 outs = no runs we ARE the worst team in baseball, no other team does that as much as we do, period major league talent doesn't load up the bases repeatedly all year, and more often than not walk away with zero runs, absolutely pathetic i dunno if i can watch anymore games this year, its too frustrating anymore
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 03:45 PM) Shocking to see a 22 year old rookie struggle. Danks has been very up and down this season, just like most rookie pitchers. ahh, the unnecessary sarcastic response, thanks for your insight
  11. danks is getting worse like every outing, it's becoming hard to watch him pitch anymore, whereas earlier in the season it was like the only bright point if i have to watch iguchi or dye groundout on another belt-high 87mph fastball, i'm gonna throw up
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 03:01 PM) He did better than Bobby. I'd sort of like to know if Danks has any personality at all. I've never heard him speak. Julio Lugo loves to introduce Julio Lugo in the third person. "George is getting frustrated!" i've heard danks speak, they had some interview with him on CSN a couple weeks ago, with him describing the 4 days prior to his starts
  13. nice play gooch, i hope we dont trade you, but you gotta pick up your game
  14. good game, bukvich was impressive for a change who would've thought that paulie's solo shot wouldn't have even been needed? surely not me, i'd never imagine a 3-2 win is possible for this club, especially against boston again, good game, lets get em tomorrow PS: does anyone have mlb.com gameday audio on their cellphone (verizon is what i have)? i have the option of getting it, it's like 6.99/mo or something, but i'm not sure if i'll get sox games as i live in illinois
  15. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) His swings reminds me of Ichiro. his stance reminds me of matsui, its basically identical
  16. LOL Verlander choking on the big stage once again it's a joke that buerhle isn't on the all star team this year, an absolute joke it's also a joke that ESPN rated chokelander's no-hitter higher than buerhle's a couple weeks ago
  17. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 02:49 AM) I truly don't understand this obsession with trading Javy. The guy has finally begun to pitch like the guy everyone thought he was in 01'-03', and NOW we want to deal him? This is the guy we thought he could be when we dealt Chris Young for him, and now we've got him extended at a fairly reasonable price. i don't think the people who want to trade javier now, want to trade him for any negative reasons due to him. it's just that, this team is in a completely different scenario than we were when we dealt for him we needed javier to be good when we were still in contention in 2006, and he wasn't very good until the later part of the 2nd half this year, we're completely out of contention, and he's performing very very well, and as there are a lot of holes this team needs to plug (Relief Pitching, decent OBP position players/youth), our only strength right now unfortunately means part of it is expendable. again, this has nothing to do with javier's performance being poor, or dealing someone who is finally showing signs of why we made the trade for him, it's just that we honestly probably cant contend with the lineup we're putting on the field now. we need a younger, healthier leadoff hitter that isn't owens, we need a better shortstop, and we need a true centerfielder (and possibly rightfielder). on top of that, we need another starting pitcher to replace contreras, as well as some help in the bullpen contreras + vazquez could potentially fill every single one of those holes but IMO, i hope we don't deal javier, i've always been a huge fan of his (one of the few, even last year), i think he has the best pitching ability of any of our starters. and he's not old, which is a plus obviously. it's just that, i can see why people would want to trade him. their thought process is, we might be just as good in our starting rotation with Buerhle/Garland/Danks/(Insert AAA Starter here)/(Insert Acquired Starter here), as well as being able to bring in new players that could help us out in all the gaping holes we have right now just my opinion
  18. so happy right now, lets build this rotation around buerhle, danks, garland and maybe vazquez contreras needs to go, get something, anything for him if you can ;(
  19. anyone notice how well the twins are at making contact with the ball? they seemingly NEVER swing and miss, what's up with that?
  20. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) I have a bad feeling Gavin is gonna get lit up tonight. if only because our D will post 8 errors by the 6th inning
  21. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) The night game will be 1-0. vivid memories of the cardinals series last year
  22. 11 runs and we LOST, how embarassing it is for me to be a sox fan right now! UNREAL
