  1. i hope this post doesn't go unnoticed, as i'm really curious what is wrong with jon today? seriously is he tipping his pitches as well as simply not getting his other pitches over for strikes? something is clearly different today
  2. why would buerhle sign a deal with a rather large "Home town discount", that doesn't include a full NTC, which then has an 18 month period that he CAN be traded to another team? he'd be stuck with a team he doesn't want to play for, with money that was intended to be a home town discount, not a discount that another team can slurp up and leave mark with a rather unimpressive contract with some random team this IS a possibility right? if i were mark, i'd be like, full NTC, or 17m/4, otherwise there's a likely chance he's going to be getting screwed imo
  3. it's pretty clear to me, if this is actually true, why they didn't put a NTC in this contract it's because they wanted to sign him to an easily-dealable contract, so they could pawn him off after a deal is signed, to another team, with a contract that's easy to pickup for the team KW is trying to deal with clearly KW has no intentions of keeping buehrle, if he refuses to include the no-trade clause, the only reason i could see that happening is if the GM intends to trade the player away, i.e the "Sign & Trade" NBA philosophy terrible
  4. we get swept, then sweep the next 4-game series lol
  5. did anyone listen to the pre-game on the score? farmer stated that Buehrle mentioned to him prior to the game that he really wanted 15/y, however he didnt state how many years so 4/60 instead of 4/50 probably keeps mark on the SS
  6. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) The problem I have is NO ONE held their arm out to signal the obstruction apparently they did, just showed the extended arm by one of the umpires on CSN
  7. at this point i don't even care who it is, to be honest and terrero, gonzalez, cintron need to go, they're not MLB-talent, i dont care how many years cintron has been in the MLB, we need to dump these guys and get people who are proven everyday players, even if they suck, at least it'll be a change of scenery which is what most sox fans want right now if we're gonna lose, at least give us a different viewpoint of it. if i have to look at another cintron or uribe or terrero or gonzalez at bat, i'm gonna vomit, these guys are possibly the worst hitters i've seen at this level in a long time, they have absolutely no idea what they're doing when they face decent pitching, and you can forget about facing above average pitching uribe's lack of talent with a bat isn't so bad because he's *generally* a good defensive shortstop, at least when he's not trying to show off his arm while throwing balls into the dugout, but when you have 2 guys hitting around him who cant put the ball in play, there ends up being too many automatic outs in this lineup and it won't be any different next year unless we DEAL these losers Kenny, do something, anything, just get different guys on this team
  8. uribe and contreras need to go, asap make it happen kenny
  9. this game is over, since we dont have any pitchers that can throw strikes
  10. it's so difficult to stomach watching this team play anymore cintron gets buckled and wants to swing so bad at two pitches in the dirt, but when the meatball comes over the middle of the plate he just stares it down we have the most unintelligent hitters on our team in all of baseball, half of these guys seem really really dumb and make terrible decisions (uribe gets "Luck" hits, it seems, if you watch his swings that he takes when he gets base hits, they're mirror images of the swings he takes when he whiffs, and when he hits a homerun to left. he's simply not good enough to win, and honestly he never was, i'm sure everyone would agree. he needs to go) i honestly think there's a pretty decent chance that we finish behind kansas city this year, or at least finish with a record near theirs
  11. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 10:57 PM) I'm not necessarily talking about making them faster. I don't think anything can help our 3-6 there, 3-7 with Crede. There are so many questions regarding this team. Why have they just fallen apart offensively since last year getting worse every month? flipped off the swirling lights above the scoreboard just kidding
  12. porcello is a boras client, probably isn't a coincedence he's fallen this far into the first round, even if he was available at 25, i dont see KW dealing with boras
  13. IMO rongey handled the callers properly, all of the callers want someone to blame for how poorly the sox are playing. well, besides the actual players themselves firing walker won't do anything, firing ozzie, cooper, KW won't change how this team is gonna perform this year someone associated with the Jays apparently said the sox look lethargic to him, just seems like the vets on this team don't really care all that much about winning, especially with their salaries
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 05:58 PM) Errors go on the board you know... LOL, Greg Walker on Chicago Tribune Live. Walk: "We would like to see Owens try going the other way with the ball, using all parts of the field" blasphemy
  15. will fields scratch the lineup tonight, or are they going to put Cintron there instead?
  16. also just now confirmed on 670TS, for the second time this year i'm actually excited to watch the team play (once he gets put into the lineup, anyway)
  17. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 02:07 PM) any walks in there? i believe i've seen Dye and Uribe both get walks from relief pitching during this "streak"
  18. i'm a new member, this is my first post just an observation i've made about the struggles of our pen the last few weeks, and coming into this series the book is out on our pen, in terms of the teams that we're playing as far as the mind set of the opposing hitters, when we bring in our pen, it has to put their confidence level up to another level knowing how badly our pen is performing, which could then perhaps give them an even better chance to hit and score runs off of us just something i've been thinking about lately. our pen's lack of any good pitching sans jenks and thornton (and some could argue masset), is probably having a two-fold counter-effect on us. they're obviously not hitting their spots and walking too many guys, but it's also probably helping the mental approach of the opposing hitters as well anyway, i like the board (i generally post on the ESPN forums, which are garbage to be honest). it looks like it has a nice established list of members, and generally always has a hot thread with activity in it
