  1. idk about Giolito, the more I think about it, his velocity loss is pretty concerning
  2. I don't think Reylo is going anywhere, his role is too valuable for what the Sox need right now (talented guy who stays healthy in a spot start/long reliever role, due to having question marks in the rotation and pen) plus I doubt he brings back anything of value (could be wrong)
  3. the only way this works out is if he's back to his high K / low BB form, or the Sox defense gets wayyyyyy better this could very well end up not working out at all
  4. I think this is probably the best time to move Kopech if the return is good, he's actually healthy
  5. I have a feeling some contracts are gonna be dumped, guys who ppl weren't expecting to be traded
  6. It's absolutely a coaching/development issue. Guys like Wong and Kepler could go to Houston or NYY and perform well because those organizations understand all that goes into getting the most from just about every player on their 26m roster. This is what worries me about the Sox. I'm glad they shook up their coaching but idk if they picked the right people. I know that the ones who were here before absolutely sucked at their jobs and had no respect from the players.
  7. friend of mine who watched a shitload of NLC games the last 10 years: "Dude he's not the same guy now that he was in STL, plus he's getting fat"
  8. to be fair didn't they have the highest offer Wheeler got?
  9. question is, was his down year just your typical regression/age, or was it due to a league change/unfamiliarity with AL pitching
  10. is this the poorest built $180+ million team ever I'm sure someone will pick a Yankees or red Sox team but this one is pretty meh
  11. Doesnt the MLB have a league wide rule against using any federally scheduled drug?
  12. Jake Burger is AAAA fodder now? come on
  13. he's probably heard a lot, teams will be trying to get him for cheap coming off a bad year
  14. zero chance they trade Lopez, gonna keep him around for injury insurance unless a team blows them away with an offer
  15. this would be the best option as it gives us SP depth after this year hides him in the minors as a trade chip. (rushing him back as a bullpen piece for 2023 risks lowering his value if he struggles)
  16. it's crazy. we have damn near universal agreement that Menechino needed to be fired. when does that happen on Soxtalk? Greg Walker had more support, which is hilarious
  17. Were teams pitching to Sox hitters in a HR-friendly manner knowing they weren't taking advantage of those pitches due to the Menechino approach, and Andrus took advantage due to the fact that he hadn't been completely reformed under Menechino?
