I'd have gone with Couch, but Hutchinson could be better than Quinn, if he learns Shea's 'unorthodox' offense. I dont see it happenning though considering it took Rex an entire offseason.

Odd, because I know a lot of people, especially parents, who don't care if their children are exposed to violence, but go nuts at the slightest bit of nudity or porn. Pretty bad, if you think about what it is teaching kids. But seeing how this is real violence in times of war, I could see how people would think that it is sick, because it is. Never seen FOD, but I know a lot of it was faked, and you'd have to be pretty f'd up in the head to go around prasing death like they do.

Conan rules, however, I'd like to see if being moved up an hour effects what he can and cannot do, and also if he will have to be more 'proper' per sey on his show because half the time he just screws around.

True about Jose's power, I was overlooking that. And i didnt do any reasearch on Jose's splits, just going by observation. I look like a dips*** now.... Anyways, a .220 BA is not healty to any team, that one thing is for sure. Runs are created when players get hits. I am sorry about Valentin, though, I think I am confusing some of his play with PK's. :banghead

That is what i was thinking, but when facing a decision would a moderate 3rd party always go halfway? On some issues, you have to make a conservative or liberal choice, and with most people, their views are mostly conservative or mostly liberal.

Just trying to learn some things here... If there was a thrid party, how would it compare to the other two? I believe that the green party is more liberal than the Dems, and the Libertarian is more conservitive than most Repubs. So I doubt parties like that would make most people happy. Then you have the socialist parties and such, but they don't really stand much of a chance with their radical views. Why Democrats and Republicans are the two that are by far the most strong, is because they are not overly liberal or conservative (compared to other parties). A thrid party would probably have to closer to the middle than the two current parties, and I'm not sure if there is a party like that, because moost people who are slightly conservative end up Republican, and the same way with Democrats. Is there a true middle of the road party? Even if there is one, it would be tough for them to make decisions...

I would not. I think Jose has hurt us far worse this season. I wonder how many innings he has killed because he couldn't put the ball in the outfeild with 1 out and a man on 3rd, and how many times he has not been able to advance runners because he cannot put the ball in play. He can't help being in the middle of the lineup, but that is when we are supposed to string together hits and score runs; that is basicly the opposite of what he does. (Edit: Maybe not :banghead ) Fourth outfielders that bat .250 are not going to make or break a season, unless a top OF like Maggs goes out, then you're already in a hole. Just about the only thing Jose has on Timo is his walks, but they both still have sub .300 OBP's. And batting average isn't overrated. Probably one of the most important stats, somewhere behind OPS, IMO. However, it only becomes less important when youve got guys like Jose who cannot advance the runner, sacrifice, or put the ball in play. I'd like to see how 'overrated' BA would be if you had an offense that batted upwards of .300-.310, and didn't strike out every 3rd at bat, you wouldn't need to worry about scoring runs. As we've seen wioth our Sox, power can be inconsistant, and BA more accurately mesaures a teams consistancy.

I'd take Vlad Guerrero, no question, but I am somewhat biased.

I used to listen to the score alot, now I mix it up because I like listening to Mac, Jurko, and Harry sometimes, but my favorite shows are still on the score: JHood, and Me and Z.

I apologize for this getting way out of hand. I have always talked withace/whitesoxin/minny about possibly metting up sometime, not as like an official soxtalk thing, but just to meet up some time because we get along and have a lot in common, particuarly age. The thread was put out there just to be welcoming to other teens that might want to get together. The point of this was definetly not to alienate anyone. Going up to Minny is a stretch. Most people wouldnt be able to afford or make the trip, but Minny cant get down here, so that is why the idea was suggested. Upon looking at it more closely, a lot of us can see that going up to minnesota probably is going a little too far. If we want to meet up for the first time we could do it at the cell, and maybe if we get to know each other and get older a minnesota trip is possible. But I just want to reiterate the fact that this was not supposed to be a soxtalk sanctioned event, just an opportunity for a few of us to get together.

What I mean is, instead of getting a guy like Gibbons to replace Magglio, get an already estabvlished palyer to replace him, and if we get Gibbons, have it be in a backup or 4th/5th OF role. The division will not be won with us signing Gibbons and 'taking the chance' that he will adequately step in where Maggs left off.

I'd hit it. But we'd have to get rid of Kong and most of his salary for it to be abkle to work financially. Then I'd like to see Thomas play some first along with DH, Everett as 4th OF/DH.

We really don't need to take chances. We could probably do a lot better with Maggs salary gone and any budget increases.
