  1. And even if a guy like Borchard goes to a nother team and does well if we were to trade him, hopefully we can make some trades where we give up prospects who don't turn out to be graet in the MLB, and get good proven players back. Then Even if Borchard becomes very good for another team, we can still be happy we have a high success rate of trading away guys who are not going to turn out and get good players in return that actually will help our MLB team.
  2. Im not calling Borchard a bust. I'm just saying that he's not a safe bet. I'm saying that he's still unproven, and if we could trade him for a proven player, I'd go for it. As with Rauch, so what if he had arm surgery? That is just one of the many things that can happen in the minors that can prevent someone from making an impact in the majors. s*** happens like that, and they won't have a chance to play for the Sox. By may reasoning, rather than gamble that these young players WILL make a difference for the sox in the future (which can be dented by many things such as poor performace or INJURY), we should see if we can trade for a player that we KNOW will be able to help us, because they are ALREADY at the major league level. That is what I am trying to reason. Sorry for the confusion.
  3. Yep. But even then, the outfield prospects are no guarentee either. Look at Joe B last year. Luckily he turned it around. Now Reed is slmping a little. It still is s much better success rate than the pitchers.
  4. Off Topic: Tho Oxygen Channel commercial-- That channel sucks so bad except for the old Sex Talk lady.
  5. Yea, I'll have to see how it turns out, but its not looking good and I won't get my hopes up as usual.
  6. Especially in baseball, prospects mean very little to me compared to the current MLB players. If we got rid of Reed, Borchard, Rauch, Honel and whoever else for a superstar and a couple other very good players it would be amazing. We could get a closer,a 5th starter, an Outfielder, and we'd only be giving up a few career .260, .270 players, IF that.
  7. And they cheer for the ump who gets hit in the head.
  8. Gotta love the OZZIE! chant
  9. For about the 5th or 6th time this year, my dad said he might take me to a Sox game tomorrow. I won't get my hopes up though because he hasn't taken me once this year. Basicly, his criteria must be perfect conditions with NO chance of any bad weather ay all, not a cloud in the sky, and within the constraints of a few degrees. Also, even if all of those restrictions are met, if he doesn't fel like it then we won't go either. Atleast i have my friends and their dads who will take me a couple times a year. If I actually do go I'll be sporting my Soxtalk shirt, maybe someone will give me a heads up if they see it. Anyone else have plans to go?
  10. There's no opportunity for the runners to score every time Jose K's.
  11. Pop-up Frank... luckily this one wasn't for an out.
  12. Some things you forgot to include: - Huge ego - Terrible (part)owner - Liar He was a good player though.
  13. Really, in all seriousness, most of the time prospects mean jack s***. Of all the projected superstar prospects, such a small percentage actually become superstars and play for our team. Crede, Rauch, Borchard... all were superstar prospects, all are in the minors or are batting a little over .200 in the majors. The actual superstars you get in the majors were never necessarily projected to be superstards (Buehrle, Maggs). So go ahead trade away the whole minor league for all I care, I don't give two s***s. I'd gladly give away players who have a CHANCE to be stars away for CURRENT stars who we can count on.
  14. Thank God we are actually winning today. Too bad Twins can't lose either.

Which is what I did somewhat, before Bush. I know I wasn't even a teenager when Bush was voted in, but I still wanted to support who I thoght was the better candidate (For the record I supported Gore). I liked MCCain a lot, in fact, and he was my top choice for president in 2000. However, Bush's time in office and his actions have turned me against him, and probably has given me the wrong ideas and caused me to make generalizations against ALL Republicans, which would be unfair on my part. Its tough to support Republicans when your family was fine while a democrat was in office, but your parents are out of work with Bush in office. I really wish I could be more in the middle of the spectrum, but as of now, my views are to the liberal side. Maybe oncde I can learn and observe more, my views will change.

    Ron Reagan

I don't know much, I am just making observations from what I hear on the radio and other sources. It seemed everyone was saying he was one of the greatest presidents ever; I'm not sure if I agree with that or not but I'm trying to get all the information I can about the situation before I make my own judgements. Sorry.

Yea, it is tough. I would probably be better off not getting involved as politics are such a heated topic. Just from what I have observed, the Republican point of view does not make sense to me, and Republicans I know seem to be overly concerned with themselves and their money. However I know I have much to learn. Some of my comments were probably a little offensive and I apologize.
