It absolutely sucks for Eloy and he in no way deserves to go back to AAA, but if the White Sox are going to be dicks about his service time it would be incredibly stupid to not just go the last few weeks of running this charade before calling him up in mid/late April.

Was this in the podcast? I don't see anything in their write-up about moving to DH. I like those guys and it's nice to have so much stuff accessible to the public for free, but that's just one (or two lol) opinion.

If you're talking about the ZiPS projections I wouldn't worry about that at all. I don't even know where he gets minor defense projections from, but they probably aren't anything approaching exact and I'm sure he would tell you that as well. All actual prospect publications talk about him being about average in LF right now. His value is definitely going to be tied to his bat, but he'll probably be better than Palka and Delmonico from day one in LF.

Well, there is still one out there now. Of course there is about a zero percent chance he signs with the White Sox.

If this isn't something to be disgruntled by then what is? I am 30 years old and this is the lowest point in my White Sox fandom. I lost all faith in what little faith I had in the front office. It's one thing to lose a guy you've been after, it's another to leak a ton of details after the fact to try to save face but all those details just make you look even worse.

If I were any of the young players in the organization I would remember today if the front office ever came to me to sign an extension. They will penny pinch and do everything in their power to not give in to players, all the while failing time and again to bring in quality free agents.

This is worse than a cheap owner. This is an incompetent front office. Even when the money was there for them they couldn't close the deal. Only plate appearances (or IP for pitchers) and awards can be offered as incentives. The 30 million extra was probably for MVP, Gold Glove, or Silver Slugger awards.

Then just offer him the fucking money. These leaks make the team look so much worse. They don't even give people a chance to get over it they just double down on how they fucked up a massive opportunity that was gift wrapped for them.

I didn't go to a game last year, mostly due to having a new born. I will not go to a game this year, mostly due to my total lack of faith in this organization and not wanting to help them monetarily one bit.

Congrats on this abysmal off-season everyone. At least we all only wasted our time for months on end.
