Give me HanRam and Tulo over Alexei. I'd rather have Hanley play the outfield though.

At least Alexei has moved ahead of Kotsay in the order. One down, three to go. -

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) too bad kw was such in a hurry to give him that extension lol I'll worry about being disappointed with Teahen next year, because right now he's a much better option than Kotsay. -

Lillibridge doesn't look too comfortable out there in CF. -

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) Last time I checked it was. Jackson also has the second highest LD% in baseball at 26.5%, whether or not that's sustainable I'm not so sure, but it's not like he's not squaring up the ball and just getting extremely lucky. He also has a 9.8% infield hit percentage thanks to his speed, so his BABIP should be a little elevated, even if that .422 is bound to drop at some point. -
QUOTE (Daily Herald @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) But in his 1341/3 innings for the Diamondbacks, Jackson issued 58 unintentional walks and an NL-worst 13 wild pitches. You don't see too many guys throwing 447 innings in a season these days.

Dayan played 51 games at 1B in AAA, do those not count? Or do yo mean that those 51 games at 1B are not sufficient and they want him to get more experience at the position before playing him at 1B at the MLB level? Mark Teahen has played 233 innings at 1B in his career, which is more than half of what Mark Kotsay had played coming into this season. I see no reason why he couldn't man the position. I get that Kotsay is by all accounts a really nice guy and he's great in the clubhouse, but he gets the criticism because he was put in an unfair situation much like Dwayne Wise was. He has no business getting anywhere near the amount of ABs he has this season at this point in his career. EDIT: I'd just like to say that it takes some stones for Rongey to post here. He says what he has to say and he knows he's going to get blasted for it on most occasions, bless you sir.

Two AL guys who would most likely clear waivers are Vernon Wells and Jose Guillen. I'd rather platoon Viciedo and Teahen than see the Sox have to pay one of those two.

Andrew Lambo: Future Cub Is he still serving that suspension? He's got to be relatively close to being MLB ready, at least on the Pirates he is. Unless they really love what Lastings Milledge is bringing to the table or something.

I will say this, Edwin Jackson is an absolute STUD in MVP Baseball 2005.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 04:22 PM) Mitchell is a year out. He'll spend all of next year in the minors and than if all goes well be ready. Agressive, certainly, possible, absolutely. Obviously it is very dependent on him being healthy though, which is a major ?. Mitchell will have had 725 ABs between college and the minor leagues coming into next year. Count me way, way out of the group that thinks he's going to be anything other than a September call-up in 2012.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 04:06 PM) Mitchell is probably a year away as well. That seems incredibly optimistic. He was one of the more raw college players in the draft and now he's missed an entire year of baseball. Even if he is able to play winterball this year you'd have to think he'd start in High A next season.
