  1. Wouldn't worry too much about that, he was going to steal third anyway.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 08:21 PM) 5 scoreless innings for Greinke so far tonight. No earned runs anyway.
  3. Nice to see Brian take that one the other way.
  4. I'm hoping Percy Harvin's extracurricular activities scares off a few teams and he falls to the Bears in the second round, but that's really wishful thinking.
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 06:54 PM) It's a strong possibility, but where does that leave Getz? Dye to DH Quentin to RF Getz to LF Or he could stick around as some sort of a super-sub and play in about 100 games.
  6. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) Im going to preface this by saying I love Boers and Bernstein, but I was listening to them before the season started and they were talking about Quentin and Boers said "I dont think Quentin is going to come close to what he did last year homerun-wise", to which Bernstein followed up his comment by saying "Every metric points to Quentin regressing and not having a year like he had last year." I cannot WAIT until September rolls around so I can ask him what Metrics he was referring to like he does to callers He had something like 20% of his fly balls last year hit for home runs, which was good for about 7th in baseball. He doesn't have the track record in the majors where you would project that to happen again this year. He also hit 5 "lucky" home runs last year. Those two things along with him coming off a wrist injury and it seems pretty reasonable to think that he wasn't going to hit 40 home runs if he stayed healthy all year. http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/baseball...2k9_30qwhitesox
  7. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Garret Johnson's had a very nice start to the season, 12.1 IP, 19K, sub 1.00 WHIP, 0.73 ERA. He's not that old either at 20 (21 in September). Just looking at his MiLB.com page and he's huge, 6'10", 205 lbs. Anyone know anything about him, stuff-wise? From Baseball America's recap of the Sox 2006 draft: 29 885 CWS Garrett Johnson lhp Orme HS, Mayer, Ariz. AZ Lefthander Garrett Johnson moved to Arizona this year when his stepfather became the head of the private Orme School. Johnson led Orme to the state finals in basketball but has more upside in baseball because he packs just 205 pounds on his 6-foot-10 frame. Johnson's fastball sits in the 82-85 mph range, but his size creates plenty of deception for hitters and plenty of interest for scouts. He's fairly athletic but is still figuring baseball out. He's likely a draft-and-follow candidate.
  8. The Futures Game is my favorite part of All-Star weekend.
  9. Redmon got hurt so Mauer (who was DHing) is catching and Garza has to hit for himself.
  10. I'm just saying that Floyd isn't some piece of crap just because he gave up a three run homer to the reigning MVP.
  11. Danks gave up a 3 run homer to Morneau in his debut this year, he turned out alright.
  12. Iguchi still has a shot at the cycle, 6 runs for this bullpen is nothing.
  13. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) Dempster is in? Gamecast has Howry Howry is in the game.
  14. Ozzie Guillen is to Jerry Manuel as Jon Garland is to John Danks.
  15. QUOTE(The Bones @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) I saw Chris Singleton hit for the cycle in person...beat that. I was at that game too.
