  1. Oh, don't think some bullshit about sincerity wasn't going to be said today.
  2. Still convinced La Russa doesn't know the names of anyone on the White Sox. He literally never says anyone's name in the few pressers he's had.
  3. The White Sox rotation would go from "Jesus, we don't even have a #3 starter" to one of the best in baseball in one off-season. That would be quite the feat.
  4. This would be an absolute no brainer. Moustakas could play 2B/3B/DH and wouldn't make you rely on Vaughn (if you could get the deal done without including him) or blocking him if he just kills it in the minors this year.
  5. Curt Casali is probably the best fit if they're looking for a 1-for-1 replacement of McCann since Casali is really solid at hitting lefties. Grandal doesn't really have platoon splits either way so I'm not sure if that's necessary though.
  6. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/top-32-prospects-chicago-white-sox/ Understandably, not a ton of new stuff to go on here, but as always an admirable amount of info put out for free.
  7. The difference here is you're trying to project forward trends based on very limited data. If you said he might be vulnerable to velocity and lacks plate discipline, which could lead to slumps then I wouldn't disagree with you. But how you phrased it makes it seem like more of a mental thing where he can't get out of slump and we do not have nearly a long enough track record to say something like that in my opinion.
  8. I bet Madrigal would great with long flowing hair
  9. Hey, I am trying to keep it on topic by still being extremely mad online about it.
  10. I would be thrilled if he hit his average of the 2019 and 2020 seasons and slashed .270/.350/.420 but I just don't think it's going to happen.
  11. Is there a reason to think he could stay healthy enough to play 150 games next year? I expect his WAR to be between 0-1 next year, but I think below 0 is a lot more likely than above 2.
  12. Right, I'm not banging on the table that Robbie Grossman was the guy the White Sox should have signed. He would also be a disappointment, but when he signs it will probably be after the players that are clearly better than him are signed elsewhere.
  13. Which guy would you rather have? Neither is probably the correct answer, but we signed the guy on the right on December 8th for some reason.
  14. Robbie Grossman was worth nearly 2 WAR more than Eaton in 2020 over the course of 51 and 41 games, respectively. Grossman had a higher WRC+ than Eaton has had in any season of his career and he's likely to sign for less money than Eaton just signed for. ?LMAO HE SUCKS THO?
  15. Eaton is going to be a below replacement level player so a replacement level player is an upgrade. Grossman also made adjustments to his swing last year and drastically improved his performance. SSS or whatever you want to say, but those games did, in fact, happen for both Eaton and Grossman.
  16. Eaton is mediocre at everything and also can't stay healthy. I'd rather have Springer and nobody than Eaton and Hendriks. You have to play to your strengths. The Sox are pretty good at getting decent young relievers seemingly out of nowhere and are absolutely terrible at signing mid level free agents and getting them to be even 0 WAR players.
  17. There are two key guys that make any sense for this team and the White Sox made it extremely clear they are not going to bother trying to sign either one of them.
  18. The White Sox should be aiming higher than Adam Eaton. They traded assets to acquire a cheap #2 starter and then turned around less than a day later and cheaped out again in RF. What is the point of tearing down to rebuild and save money if you aren't going to acquire a guy like Springer when the market is wide open for you to do it?
  19. Rosario Bradley Jr Robbie Grossman David Dahl Ozuna Schwarber Brantley Some of these you're splitting hairs, but I don't know how anyone thinks this is anything but a terrible signing.
  20. I still cannot believe this happened. This is a signing you make in March after striking out with like 7 other guys and even then I would be mad they signed Eaton. I said before that this was the same old White Sox, but honestly this might be a new low.
  21. What the fuck? Why did we rush out to sign the 7th best RF we could? Hate this move.
  22. That's why I have them getting Pederson and Brantley. I wouldn't want Brantley to have to do anything other than play a handful of games in LF for when Eloy injures himself misplaying a ball. Also, Vaughn and Kopech for Blake Snell becomes more palatable if you were to lock Brantley up for a few years.
