We haven’t seen good Eloy in like 2 years bud, he’s got a lot to prove until I consider him an upgrade over anyone in our lineup.

All these moves suck.

I meant more along the lines of the prospects were coming up and we were turning the corner from rebuilding to contender.

This season is so frustrating because everything looked so bright coming out of 2020. Its like this teams demise started once Tony LaRussa was hired. ?

Another puzzling move from an inept organization

The roster construction of this team is just severely flawed. Even if everyone was healthy and performing as expected we still have way too many plodding 1B/DH players on the roster.

Don’t try to do too much, groundball through the hole to RF is what we want. Also if you do put one in the gap, don’t run too hard we don’t want your legs to get hurt. Sounds about right.

If the team has to sell, who would you be willing to part with…

No one. This front office doesn’t get another chance. -

Could be, I was going off the wikipedia draft page so it could have been wrong. -
Sometimes We Need to Go Backward Before We Can Move Forward

Also found this interesting when I was looking up some of this draft history. The White Sox have lost a first round pick for signing a Free Agent one time, in 1978. They received 21 picks over this same time for letting players sign elsewhere. Interesting, but not surprising either. -

I mean, yeah pretty much. If you aren't bad enough during a rebuild you generally don't come out of it with difference makers from being the worst team. Look at some of the players the Astros got through drafting during their rebuild. Springer, Correa, Bregman, Tucker. They whiffed on two #1 overall picks during this stretch as well. The White Sox have Andrew Vaughn, and nothing else to show for their drafting efforts during this time. The Astros were down a lot longer than the Sox were, but they have been up for a lot longer as well and the Sox are quickly going to find themselves back where we were when this started anyways. -
Grandal and Moncada were both worthless when they were not injured this year, I don't know how much that's moving the needle. Eloy is scaring the shit out of me. Hes got a .211 / .250 / .211 slash line on his rehab assignment with 2 walks and 11 K's and since the start of the 2021 season he has pretty much been a detriment to this team. This team has glaring problems anywhere you look.

This team is bad, and have been bad, all year. Injuries have played a part in this, but not the whole part. Run differential is telling the story here. The White Sox are at -51! The Mariners are at -1. Those are the only two teams in baseball that are supposed to be contenders that are negative. Every other team in baseball is either positive or rebuilding. This team is underachieving big time. They just aren't as good as we thought.

If we get swept at home by Baltimore, it’s definitely the low point of this season
