  1. The best part about the Rumble is the surprise entrants, even if they don't realistically have a chance at winning. There was none of that this year. I don't understand how Seth Rollins is left off the card completely. Cena and Orton at Mania? Its been done, not thrilled about that. Honestly, I was pulling for Jericho when it got down to the final four. The Royal Rumble match is what makes the PPV, and it just wasn't that good. Therefor, the PPV was a let down even if the other matches were pretty damn good.

  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 09:42 AM) Nah, it was the Steve Harvey show, filmed in Chicago. I was really hoping you were going to say you played Bullethead
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 11:06 AM) You Patriot-ed? Pretty much, I had my worst week of the season points wise.. couldn't have come at a worst time.. I lost out on $500 but still get $160 for 2nd place
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 12:13 AM) Final line for me this season: 2 championships, a third place finish and a $90 profit in the league I didn't make the playoffs. I'll never have a year like this again. I went 2-2 in my 4 championship games.. I lost my undefeated season
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 08:57 PM) Agreed. Hahn has said plenty of times these guys are likely starting the season in the minors and will not be rushed which makes sense when looking at the Sox roster as of now. There's only a small market for Frazier/ Robertson and literally none for Melky/Lowrie so we likely start the season with them and look to move Frazier/Robertson in July and hope that Melky/Lowrie can play well enough to get something in return. There's no need to trade Q if teams won't pay and with four years of control left he will have plenty of value at the deadline and next winter. None the less I still think a team will blink and trade for Q. As for Abreu, I don't think the Sox are too interested in trading Abreu and probably prefer to keep him around to mentor Moncada when he's ready for a call up which IMO is the right move unless a team offers a big overpay. Another point is a team does not trade it's best pitcher and overall hitter for prospects that very from A to 3A experience if they are not rebuilding. This is a different and better strategy than what the Sox have used in recent years with the "rebuilding on the fly" and " retooling" routes previously taken. I've taken my fair share of shots at JR but I give him credit for going ahead and rebuilding. Never thought he would do it at 80 years old but he's proved me wrong. I agree, its just a strange feeling I have. Also I guess because we had the two big trades so close together and now its been pretty much silence. I do believe they are rebuilding, its just odd that so far the only two pieces to move have been the two guys who caused the most "issues". I also don't think anyone would be shocked if Moncada, Giolito, or Lopez played well enough to earn a spot on the opening day roster regardless of what Hahn is spinning. They don't have stiff competition to beat out. At worst, they play the extra year of control game and then we see them up. Again, this is assuming they perform well enough to earn a spot. Well see, I still think they will trade Q but I also wouldn't be surprised in the least to see them back off of the full rebuild and do the ol White Sox retool that we all love.
  7. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) It's not a matter of patience, it's just my opinion that this isn't a full rebuild. We will see who is right on opening day. Not gonna lie, im starting to lean in that direction as well. Moncada, Giolito, Lopez are all guys who could not only start on the OD roster, but will more than likely make it there this season.. If Quintana gets traded, its definitely a full on rebuild.. but man, there is a lot of evidence to suggest, at the least, that they got rid of the two problem children
  8. Well here we go, Championship week.. Macho Madness - 13 - 0 Playing the #2 seed in the Championship game with the undefeated season and $500 on the line Cobra Kai - 10 - 3 Playing the #4 seed in the Championship game with $200 on the line Pretty Boy Swag - 12 - 2 Playing the #2 seed in the Championship with $0 on the line.. so who cares about this one Cobra Kai - 10 - 3 Playing the #1 seed in the Championship with $120 on the line A Team Has No Name - 7 - 6 Lost to my wife in the first round of the playoffs
  9. What's even more satisfying, the league didn't have playoff reseeding on so I got stuck playing the highest scoring team in the league instead of the trashy 6th seed who pulled off a first round upset. I'm so pumped right now
  10. Unbelievable My 13-0 team was up 26 points, my opponent had Cousins and Crowder going and I was done. I can't believe I held on to win. It's a Christmas miracle!!
  11. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 15, 2016 -> 03:05 AM) Ended up getting both guys. My projected is now 94 to his 111. My only toss ups this week are Brady or Cam (going Brady, despite projected to score only 11 vs 16), and Crowell (10.1) or Farrow (9.7). I'm going Crowell simply because Farrow is a rookie, so if he has a bad 1st quarter, they could start giving his carries away. I'll wait to use him until next week possibly when I am either playing for 1st, or 3rd. I think you have to play Farrow over Crowell. Hes going to get volume, and his competition is Ronnie Hillman who sucks. They also are playing in good weather conditions where as Crowell is on the road in a nasty environment. I think when you have close decisions to make, you should lean towards the guy in the better offense playing in better conditions, but that's just me.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 09:00 PM) I am in the championship and while I have Le'veon Bell as my RB1, my RB2 is ugly after drafting Melvin Gordon and CJ Anderson. I chose between Ty Montgomery (Bears), Duke Johnson (Bills) and Mike Gillislee (Cleveland). It's a full PPR. I'd imagine Montgomery is the easy play there? Montgomery is probably the best play there, but man if its another nasty weather day in Buffalo they are probably going to be run heavy and Gillislee gets the goal line work. I think with Bell as your #1 you will probably be good with either choices for RB2 (Obviously not Duke Johnson)
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:29 PM) We're kinda entering unchartered territory here, with basically no financial commitments, a young, cheap core and for the first time ever a kind of real soft cap, it makes sense that big dollars could be committed, where else are they going to spend the next two years? It is uncharted territory, but I still find it hard to believe they will ever sign the 7 year 20-25 per kind of guys under JR.. He just doesn't do it..
  14. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) With a team already loaded with contracts. When the payroll is $40 million in a year or two, there will be room to make a splash in free agency. Ill believe it when I see it
  15. 6 years $68 Million... that's the largest contract the Chicago White Sox have ever given out They aren't signing the big time free agents, need to nail these trades and drafts..
  16. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) Their salary will likely be between $40-50M in 2019. Even if they just move to $100M, weak for a big market team, you're talking 2-3 impact players to augment a young, talented, and exciting roster. We've never seen anything that suggests this ownership will ever pay the price it will take for a marquee free agent.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) I hope for the best. I've read red flags on all the stars we've acquired. I hope for the best like I said. I just don't understand except for southsider all the backing of the front office on here and assuming we've made 2 great trades. Well our inept front office has already acquired 4 of the top 38 prospects in baseball, including #s 1 and 3. We still have the best pitcher available to move as well, its hard not to be pleased with what they have done so far.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) And my guess is Quintana - who has value between Sale and Eaton, Frazier, Jones, Jennings, Robertson and Melky are all gone soon. Yeah, and if they get a bunch of position player prospects in the coming weeks are all these doom and gloomers going to come back and say "Oh s***, maybe I should have waited more than 24 hours and two trades before freaking out" Everyone but Greg knew what we were getting into with a full on rebuild. All kinds of prospects will be making their way into the system over the next few years, its not going to be all pitchers.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) Amazing? Nothing the Sox do can be called amazing IMO. I want proof of it. These haven't been "amazing" deals IMO. You have multiple posts in here so far saying you know nothing about these prospects, your opinion is meaningless in regards to these trades based off that alone. You don't even know anything about what we got so how can you have an opinion one way or the other?.. You wont find anyone not named SS2K5 who doesn't think the Sox KILLED IT with the Eaton trade. The guys on MLB network are floored the Nats gave up so much. Just got a ESPN push notification "Jim Bowden says Adam Eaton deal "Was a very lopsided trade" in favor of Chicago; Praises Lucas Giolito" The Sox have the #1 overall prospect (Position Player) and the #3 overall prospect (Starting Pitcher).. Unbelievable there is a single complaint out of anyone at this point in time.. TWO TRADES IN, f***
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:35 PM) A lot more than I will enjoy the next two or three years. Its been two trades for f***s sake Its one thing to be critical, its another thing entirely to be claiming colossal failure at this point. More trades will be made, high end draft picks selected. Very baffling coming from you of all people.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) The #1 prospect has never been traded before. In the deal for Chris Sale, he was part of a 4 player trade. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) A pitcher of Chris Sale's caliber, at his age, with his contract situation has basically almost never been traded before.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 06:18 PM) Unless I live in Charlotte or Birmingham, nothing has changed.
  23. There's no way we can lose this trade. There was virtually zero chance Sale would resign here in 3 years and you probably wouldn't be lined up to get the #1 prospect in baseball in the next few years by holding out. This trade is as good as we would/could ever get for Sale.
  24. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) I have no idea what to do here. I need to fill the following positions RB2, FLEX1 and FLEX2. Standard league. I have: RB Frank Gore @ NYJ RB Todd Gurley @ NE WR Sammy Watkins @ OAK WR Davante Adams vs. HOU WR Kelvin Benjamin @ SEA RB James Starks vs. HOU I am basically not even considering Benjamin and Starks. Pretty much set on starting Gore if Luck starts. Gurley hasn't been getting TDs but he gets his yards every game because of the volume. I have to start playing Adams but he has a less than desirable matchup in Houston. I feel like Watkins will go off against a suspect secondary. Advice needed... I'd go with Gore, Gurley, Adams You could probably sub out Gore for Watkins, but Watkins has already missed practice time this week with pain issues. Not sure that guys trust worthy
