Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
T R U replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) Their salary will likely be between $40-50M in 2019. Even if they just move to $100M, weak for a big market team, you're talking 2-3 impact players to augment a young, talented, and exciting roster. We've never seen anything that suggests this ownership will ever pay the price it will take for a marquee free agent. -
Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox

QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) I hope for the best. I've read red flags on all the stars we've acquired. I hope for the best like I said. I just don't understand except for southsider all the backing of the front office on here and assuming we've made 2 great trades. Well our inept front office has already acquired 4 of the top 38 prospects in baseball, including #s 1 and 3. We still have the best pitcher available to move as well, its hard not to be pleased with what they have done so far. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) And my guess is Quintana - who has value between Sale and Eaton, Frazier, Jones, Jennings, Robertson and Melky are all gone soon. Yeah, and if they get a bunch of position player prospects in the coming weeks are all these doom and gloomers going to come back and say "Oh s***, maybe I should have waited more than 24 hours and two trades before freaking out" Everyone but Greg knew what we were getting into with a full on rebuild. All kinds of prospects will be making their way into the system over the next few years, its not going to be all pitchers. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) Amazing? Nothing the Sox do can be called amazing IMO. I want proof of it. These haven't been "amazing" deals IMO. You have multiple posts in here so far saying you know nothing about these prospects, your opinion is meaningless in regards to these trades based off that alone. You don't even know anything about what we got so how can you have an opinion one way or the other?.. You wont find anyone not named SS2K5 who doesn't think the Sox KILLED IT with the Eaton trade. The guys on MLB network are floored the Nats gave up so much. Just got a ESPN push notification "Jim Bowden says Adam Eaton deal "Was a very lopsided trade" in favor of Chicago; Praises Lucas Giolito" The Sox have the #1 overall prospect (Position Player) and the #3 overall prospect (Starting Pitcher).. Unbelievable there is a single complaint out of anyone at this point in time.. TWO TRADES IN, f*** -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:35 PM) A lot more than I will enjoy the next two or three years. Its been two trades for f***s sake Its one thing to be critical, its another thing entirely to be claiming colossal failure at this point. More trades will be made, high end draft picks selected. Very baffling coming from you of all people. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) The #1 prospect has never been traded before. In the deal for Chris Sale, he was part of a 4 player trade. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) A pitcher of Chris Sale's caliber, at his age, with his contract situation has basically almost never been traded before. -

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
T R U replied to Southwest Sider's topic in Pale Hose Talk
There's no way we can lose this trade. There was virtually zero chance Sale would resign here in 3 years and you probably wouldn't be lined up to get the #1 prospect in baseball in the next few years by holding out. This trade is as good as we would/could ever get for Sale. -
QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) I have no idea what to do here. I need to fill the following positions RB2, FLEX1 and FLEX2. Standard league. I have: RB Frank Gore @ NYJ RB Todd Gurley @ NE WR Sammy Watkins @ OAK WR Davante Adams vs. HOU WR Kelvin Benjamin @ SEA RB James Starks vs. HOU I am basically not even considering Benjamin and Starks. Pretty much set on starting Gore if Luck starts. Gurley hasn't been getting TDs but he gets his yards every game because of the volume. I have to start playing Adams but he has a less than desirable matchup in Houston. I feel like Watkins will go off against a suspect secondary. Advice needed... I'd go with Gore, Gurley, Adams You could probably sub out Gore for Watkins, but Watkins has already missed practice time this week with pain issues. Not sure that guys trust worthy

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 01:34 AM) Not many options for backup TE, other than Pitta, Brate, McDonald, or Gresham. Pitta, Brate, and McDonald are all better options than Cook

QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 01:53 PM) 1/2 PPR and I need a WR2 and a FLEX after losing AJ Green. I have: WR Tyrell Williams vs TB (labrum issue, is said to play) WR Tyreek Hill @ ATL RB Devontae Booker @ JAX RB Rob Kelley @ ARI I also have Dion Lewis and Marquess Wilson but I'm not really considering them. Probably won't play Kelley either. What say you ST? Start both WR's, Williams as WR2 and Hill as flex If for some reason Williams cant go I go Hill and Booker

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 09:59 AM) I'm in a Survivor League with 5 people left. I'm between Oakland at home vs Buffalo and Green Bay home vs Houston this week. Not sure who I'm going to take. Any thoughts? Green Bay is the better pick here. I don't trust Oakland at all, and the Texans stink on ice.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 12:15 PM) Trade accepted. Latavius Murray for Jarvis Landry. IIRC, you're in a standard league. That's a bad trade. Miami has shifted to a run heavy philosophy and Landry's production is way down. His strength was catching 7-9 balls for 90-100 yards, but he doesn't score touchdowns and now hes more in the neighborhood of 4-5 catches for 60-70 yards. Meanwhile Murray is the lead back in a high powered offense and gets the bulk of the goaline work. You just traded a mid RB2 for a WR3. Unless you were stacked at RB, this was a bad trade. Granted, Miami has acknowledged they need to get the ball to Landry more but he still is a risky play for standard leagues.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 06:16 PM) Fantasy football sucks this year. Disagreed. I am in 5 leagues and through 7 weeks I am 7-0 7-0 6-1 6-1 2-5 Only one stinker in there, I can live with it.
-
You shouldnt really be stashing anymore.. bye weeks are about to start so there are gonna be decisions to make.. if you can survive leaving dead weight on your bench then sure your points are very valid. Youre gonna be in trouble more often than not keeping the "Well I just need an injury" players on your bench in the coming weeks. If you play the waiver wire smart and maintain a high claim you will be in good shape anyway should injury/suspension occur. Most of my leagues are 5 player benches and one with a 4 man bench.. Its difficult keeping Bell and Gordon in a few leagues already

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) Very well could be, but Williams has been really, really good in his absence. Was last year too. You're crazy... In the two games Williams started in Bells absence to start last season he got 41 carries for 204 yards and 3 TDs.. he looked great.. What happened when Bell came back? The very first game, 1 carry.. He didn't have a single game with more than 5 carries until Bell got hurt again.. If you own DeAngelo Williams you need to drop him after this week. He will not be fantasy relevant as long as Bell is playing

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 03:55 PM) Guys I have a WR2 Logjam but with crappy receivers. My #1 is Dez who last week has left me doubting his ability to put up #1 numbers if Prescott is starting. But my #2 is a tossup between a banged up Sanu,a banged up Wheaton, Tajae Sharp, Eli Rodgers, and Michael Thomas. Any help here? Sanu if hes playing followed by Sharpe, Thomas, Rogers, Wheaton Thomas is probably the play this week over Sanu regardless.. That Giants/Saints game should be a big time shootout

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 11:05 PM) Any recommendations for some sites that I can read about sleepers/faab/projections etc. I just like to have a variety of places so wondering what other people use. Fantasy Football Today fftoday.com Pretty decent site

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) Gotta drop somebody. I have Jeremy Hill, Stephon Diggs, Dwayne Allen, T.J. Yeldon and Henry on my bench. Oh, I do have Josh Gordon too but I don't know if I wanna waive him. I think he's going to help me as soon as he's back from suspension. Then quite honestly, im not sure I make any moves. TJ Yeldon would probably be the guy I send packing if you were to make any moves. He was not very impressive Sunday and once Ivory gets back I am not sure how useful he is going to be fantasy wise. I would probably sit tight if I were you.. sounds like your team killed it this week and your bench looks pretty strong

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 05:40 AM) I'm in the same boat with the #1 waiver claim. I'm going to drop Derrick Henry. I need a backup QB but not till week 4 which is Rodgers bye week (Stafford is actually available in my league). I don't think I wanna use it on a QB though even though I should jump on Stafford. I need a RB after Bell comes back in a couple weeks (I'm weak there especially now with Freeman looking like a RB2, so I pretty much just have Forte) so I'm looking at Theo Reddick. BUT, Will Fuller is looking awfully attractive. I might just pick that kid up. He looked amazing against the Bears. I'm going to possibly shop Gronk this week. Maybe even Rodgers if I decide to just take Stafford. Carl, any advise bro? Don't waste the #1 waiver claim on a QB, you just need a one week fill in PPR league? Riddick would be a solid get.. Same with Fuller. I wouldn't drop Henry just yet Prolly wouldnt trade Gronk either, but of course that depends on what the return would be.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 09:41 PM) Welp, had I played Melvin Gordon...or Isiah Crowell (wasn't really even considering it though), or even Doug Baldwin, they all outscored Decker, I would be sitting really comfortably heading in to MNF. But instead, I hold on to a 12.9 pt lead and he has Pierre Garcon left. Still not terribly worried, but one TD by Garcon and I could be screwed. Picking up Ebron worked out well for me. Garcon would need 70 yards and a TD to beat you.. He had over 70 yards only 3 times in 16 games last season and never scored more than 1 TD in any game.. the combo of 70 yards and 1 TD happened just one time.. It would be shocking, to say the least, if Garcon has 70+ yards and a TD tonight.. I think you're good. A little more digging.. in the last 32 games he had a stat line of 70+ yards and 1 TD in only 3 games (Two of those against division rival Eagles).. recent history says he has about a 10% chance at hitting those numbers. Hopefully I did not just jynx you. I am going to be 5-0 in my leagues after tonight, but unfortunately will be losing Keenan Allen in two of them.. that's a tough one

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 06:41 PM) I'm just not very good. I'm only a casual football fan and do fantasy with friends for fun. I don't do mock drafts or much research or anything, just a couple articles an hour before the draft and that's it. But it's fun to have a rooting interest outside of just my favorite team. A guy at work talked me out of my Keenan Allen for Doug Martin trade, so I cancelled that one. Maybe I should just post the roster of the guy who wants to trade with me and you guys will have better suggestions for a trade. The best part about fantasy football, outside of winning money, is having a rooting interest in almost every game. Im guessing your league settings, but heres what I would do QB: Matthew Stafford RB: Latavius Murray RB: Melvin Gordon WR: DeAndre Hopkins WR: Keenan Allen TE: Rob Gronkowski Flex: Eric Decker K: Cairo Santos DEF: Seattle Bench: Doug Baldwin, Sea WR Bench: Tom Brady, NE QB Bench: Giovani Bernard, Cin RB Bench: Allen Hurns, Jax WR Bench: Isaiah Crowell, Cle RB Bench: Bilal Powell, NYJ RB Bench: Dorial Green-Beckham, Phi WR Ideally, you want Latavius Murray as your RB2.. I would try to use Doug Baldwin and Allen Hurns to get Doug Martin..If he wants Keenan Allen, it needs to be for David Johnson.. Id try Keenan Allen and Doug Baldwin for David Johnson in that case.. this way, you get a high end RB1 and move Murray to RB 2, Decker can slot in just fine as your WR2 and then you can play matchups for your flex. If Spencer Ware is a free agent in your league, drop Powell and pick him up.

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 01:35 PM) 12 Team PPR League QB-Ben Roth RB-Lamar Miller RB-Matt Forte WR-Dez Bryant WR-Keenan Allen TE-Delanie Walker FLEX-Danny Woodhead DEF-Broncos K-Stephen Gostkowski Bench: QB-Andy Dalton WR-Michael Sanu WR-Michael Thomas WR-Markus Wheaton RB-Theo Riddick RB-Jerick McKinnon TE-Jordan Cameron I really feel like my Flex spot is my weakest right now but I'm not sure who will emerge as my top FLEX candidate from what I have, hopefully I fine a QB hungry team that I can dangle Dalton out too if he continues playing the way he did last year. EDIT: Oh and any feedback would be welcome! Outside of Big Ben and Romoless Dez I like it Danny Woodhead is a rock solid RB2, and hes your flex. I wouldnt say you are weak at flex. Ben Roethlisberger is overrated. His 2014 was very nice, however hes really just a 4200 yard 25 TD guy treated like some high end fantasy QB. You can get those numbers from Ryan Tannehill and hes barely even being drafted
