  1. I don't understand the overreaction by people around here.. Im a fan of the name on the front of the jersey.. don't jump off a cliff because we couldn't sign someone we never had anyways. Were in the same spot we were already in, and even if we did sign him, were still BAD anyways..
  2. Im glad you're leaving Serves you right for being a douche back in December when I told you this organization didn't have the balls to sign anyone to this kind of contract
  3. Of course he was, the White Sox thought they were smarter than the room here. We got his brother, we got his buddy, we offered $250 million disguised as $320 million.. we got this! Oh, oops
  4. Its actually not a solid offer at all in comparison.. who would risk $50 million on how their body holds up when they reach 35/36 years old? Heres two offers, one is worth $300 million no matter what. The other is worth $250 million but could be $320 million in 9-10 years provided you age well. Which one are you taking, every time. Pretty easy to me.
  5. Are you in denial? The White Sox have already come out and said they couldn't do $300 Its over, done, finished.. $68 million is still the reigning, defending, highest Sox signing in history..
  6. How good or bad the team currently is really has no bearing on how much it sells for to be honest with you.
  7. The Jay and Alonso acquisitions should tell everyone all they need to know about the clowns running this show. A professional organization doesn't acquire family members/friends in hopes they can get a sweetheart deal from a free agent.
  8. We were never getting this guy, said it from the beginning. Why? Because this organization is cheap as hell and will never win a bidding war because of that cheapness. Stop being naive, there was no outcome that ever ended with the White Sox signing either of these guys. They don't have what it takes to get it done. I think that was proven by how long it drug out. The Sox couldn't meet the demands so it drug on until someone finally did.
  9. Ricochet was the most exciting thing I’ve watched on raw in what feels like forever
  10. Fulmer is no good, Bummer is meh, and Laz Rivera is a 24 year old that hasn't played above A ball. For a 2 War player with 2 years of control? I would be pleasantly shocked if this happens.
  11. Im just struggling to believe the Dodgers would trade Joc Pederson for the handful of scrubs that have been reported. Practically giving him away.
  12. No offense taken, you're a nobody on a message board. Until they sign someone to a contract larger than $68 million, I am firmly in the "Well, we tried guys" camp when this is all said and done. Having interest and actually putting pen to paper is two very different things. Until it happens, I am on the skeptical side.
  13. Quit fixating on Machado It was an add on to my original point, we weren't signing someone to that large of a contract anyways so why are people acting like this trade is what killed it..
  14. Not negative at all, factual actually.. history tells you this as I presented in my original post
  15. We were never getting Harper or Machado anyways 6 yrs 68 million.. largest contract this organization has ever given... and you guys really believed we were going to go 300-350 on someone It was never happening
  16. My work league is a 14 team 1 point PPR league I went 13-0 8 teams make the playoffs, so no bye week for 1st and 2nd in standings If Stefan Diggs doesn't score 27 points tonight I will be ousted in round 1 to the 8th seed thanks to Amari Coopers 54 points and Smith-Schusters 32 Heartbreaking
  17. Yeah sorry for being the wet blanket here but 6 yrs 68 million. That’s the largest contract the White Sox have EVER given a player. I will say 0.0 % chance they sign either of these guys much less the insanity talk of both.
  18. I went into the game expecting Miami not to score today.
  19. I read the plot, it sounds just awful Hearing a lot of Catwoman/Ghost Rider bad
  20. Unless I am looking at some bad info, Mack will count 13.8 against the cap this year and then every following year is between 22-24 million cap hit with a potential out after 2021. If Trubisky gets to an extension, you're looking at 25-30 million cap hits right away. Its tough to build a contender with two players taking up that much of the cap while also missing out on first round talent for two consecutive years. Ill stop raining on the Bears fans parade, but as an outsider I like this deal a lot better for Oakland from an overall asset standpoint. They get a boatload of high end picks and don't have to pay one player a record setting deal.
  21. As a Dolphins fan, signing Suh was one of my favorite times as a fan. An elite difference maker on the defensive side of the ball. Two years later and you start getting into the 28 million cap hit and your team can’t afford to improve the team the way it needs to be done to compete for a championship. And that was without giving up any draft picks. We’ll see what happens but I stand by my statement in 2-3 years you guys will regret the deal.
