6/27 Chicago Slappers vs. Atlanta Shredders 3:10 PM

Would love to see Sale throw a perfect game today to really stick it to this sad sack franchise. -
The Braves got a viable middle reliever The White Sox got a handful of garbage and a 24 year old A ball pitcher who is doing decent. The Braves definitely won this trade in terms of performance. That being said, even if we get nothing out of any of these guys I wouldn't say we lost this trade since it was time to move on from Bummer anyways and he was a decent middle reliever, so whatever.

I don't want to see any catchers or 1B in any of these returns. Korey Lee alone is going to be pushing 2 bWAR this season and has proven to be a pretty solid defensive option. With Quero also shining in AA I don't see a need to collect assets at the C position for our marquee trade chips. For 1B, there is a real possibility we draft Cags and we still have Vaughn and Sheets unless they get traded or DFA'd so again no reason to collect assets there as well. That Baltimore trade would be an absolute dream, but there is no way that happens.

Yeah hes putting up numbers, doesn't he also have bum knees? Maybe we will see him before the end of the year.
-
40 games under .500 with a -172 run differential and were still in JUNE Its insulting to the fan base that this has been treated as acceptable so far.
-
Unfortunately hes a 25 year old 1B only guy who hasn't been past AA, so you probably won't be seeing him on any.
-
Oh, and to be on topic, they were only shutout 3 times that season. Unless I missed one, but dayum.
-
That 2000 White Sox team had 7 of 9 starters with an OPS over .800 Sheeeeeesh
-
James Baldwin was an all-star in 2000 lol
-
I didn't say he couldn't be moved, I said we wouldn't get anything interesting for him.
-
Flexen sucks. He has a 5.13 ERA and a 5.03 FIP and last year had a 6.86 ERA with a 6.22 FIP. There is no chance that we get an interesting piece for him in a trade. Dude sometimes you make some really good posts and then other times you say the most ridiculous things. Riley Gowens is a 24 year old in A ball with a mid 4 ERA. He is not a pretty good pitching prospect.

They just don't spend the money they do have wisely. Were paying approx. $4.75 million to Maldonado and Stassi. One is arguably the worst player in baseball and the other is not going to play at all. Should have just found out what you had in Korey Lee and signed some defensive only guy off the scrap heap. Ill just assume that we HAD to take Nicky Lopez in that Atlanta deal, otherwise there's another $4.3 million wasted. The DeJong signing is one that they got right. Dirt cheap, and we may get an asset out of it. Tommy Pham is in the same boat, dirt cheap again and we may get an asset out of him. Clevinger and Flexen, another $4.75 million wasted. Nobody is interested in Clevinger and Flexen is awful. They could have thrown AAA guys out there if they just wanted a guy to eat innings to a tune of 5-6 ERA. And the bullpen, jesus. Brebbia $4 million. Soroka $3 million (Again, ill assume we had to take him in the deal with Atlanta) Just throwing away money on useless players. I would rather they just invest that into scouting and development instead of one season of worthless baseball.

The problem is they never claimed it was a rebuilding year, matter of factly they acted more like they were trying to contend in the central until the wheels exploded off and the cart plummeted to a fiery death almost instantly into the trip.
-
Well that's an easy answer, they are making money the way they are running things. Who cares if Johnny Deepdish is pissed about it. Its a business, JR is here to make money.
-
Defensively, no. But Nicky Lopez is still a 0.0 bWAR player who wont be here next season so yeah, there is still no answer in sight for the future of the position on this team.
-
Julks.. .179 avg and .555 OPS in June.
-
Moncada is certainly better than anyone else we could put there. Eloy is just as worthless and the rest of the trash on this roster.
-
Assuming I know the "key" players you are referring to, I think you actually mean key player. Benintendi and Vaughn sucked last year, and continue to suck this year. Its because they aren't good, they aren't slumping. Moncada and Jiminez sucked last year, and continue to suck and get injured this year. The only key player we lost in this was Luis Robert, who continues to get hurt every year.

Trading Fedde for a prospect or two that can help this team for 6+ years soon is very valuable for our situation.
-
The options are either to trade him now at his highest value, literally will never be higher than this moment right now, or watch him leave as a free agent after next season.
-
I would want Miller (55), Crawford (55), and Caba (55) from Philly for Robert. I would want Mayo (55), Beavers (50), and McDermott (50) from Baltimore. I would want Chourio (55) from Cleveland. That kind of haul would go a long way to rebuilding this dumpster fire.

There's no way they set the MLB record. The team record however, really is going to depend on who gets shipped out of here over the next month. The post trade deadline limp to the finish is going to be brutal.
