  1. Ive had Quentin starting for my fantasy team ALL YEAR.. I benched him last night, and he hits 3 homers.. SON OF A!!!!
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ May 24, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) Great write up on Savage by Simmons. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/110524 That was a really nice read
  3. QUOTE (onedude @ May 24, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) Eh...maybe in that picture, but Brooklynn Decker isn't a skinny model by any means. lol right, she doesnt look like that at all
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2011 -> 12:10 PM) You're pissing me off now. Who the hell is that in your avy? I couldn't find the name of the last girl. This one looks even better. ew.
  5. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 23, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) Still, I don't think he's a leadoff guy. A leadoff guy gets on, walks, makes the pitcher work, battles. That's my idea of a leadoff hitter, Lexi could develop into a good 6th hitter and RBI guy. eh who cares, hes only leading off the game in ONE at bat.. ide rather have the better players hitting in front of our power than having someone there who fits some nostalgic mold
  6. QUOTE (Andrew @ May 23, 2011 -> 10:34 PM) Would way rather see Lillibridge take Pierre's spot at this point. He plays right, center, and can likely mange left too. He's got web-gems all over the f***ing place defensively while Pierre has cost us at least 3 games dropping routine fly balls and then (sometimes in the same play), f***ing up throws. Lillibridge also has a higher OBP. So in conclusion, f*** Pierre. And I agree with you, ide rather see Lilli out there as well
  7. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 23, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) Yawn...how annoying. They had the best record in baseball and won it all. It's very hard to repeat in baseball. We don't even see it in the NFL anymore with even fewer roster changes. Please, no more of this silliness. Seriously, how can you win 99 games and go 11-1 in the playoffs and yet be a fluke?
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 23, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) Maybe the difference between Hitman and Macho man is that Vince knows he legitimately screwed Hart over, and with Macho Man maybe Savage was the instigator. We all know that Vince puts money above relationships, there had to be something pretty significant for him to ice out Macho Man like he did while he gave Hart a coming home and farewell party, as well as let Hart put the sharpshooter on him. Well and the Hart screw over was massively public and Vince looked terrible from it.. If Macho Man assaulted Vince in a bar, thats not even close to the same situation.. and I could definitely see Vince holding onto that
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 23, 2011 -> 12:17 PM) Another bad comparison (just like other people's comparison to the White Sox of 05). Tampa Bay was an incredibly talented team with numerous top 100, hell, top 50 baseball prospects. Them being good wasn't a shock to anyone. I don't think people thought they'd be that dominant, but everyone knew the talent was there. This Indians team has had a lot of guys that aren't elite prospects or baseball talents turning it on and having career years. Heck, most of there best prospects are either still in the minors or have just recently been called up. thanks for saving me the time of saying this..
  10. Does anyone else collect just authentic MLB hat? the New Era ones that they actually wear.. My goal is to get every teams hat (Except a Cubs and Twins one because I could never wear em) Right now I have Sox, Astros, Cardinals, Mets, Rockies, Reds, Tigers, A's, Dodgers, Braves If they weren't $30 a hat ide prolly have bought them all by now.. but im making progress
  11. QUOTE (gatnom @ May 20, 2011 -> 05:08 PM) Buehrle had the closest thing to a fluke year as far as our starting pitching went (his ERA was .7 lower than his career average), and if you throw out 6-8 bad starts from every pitcher, they'd all be worth $20 million. You are right in that Contreras was more or less the best pitcher in baseball over that stretch of time, but he's also been pretty mediocre for his career. Yes, I understand he's been injured, but my entire point was that it's completely possible that maybe this is just the tribe's year where everything goes right for them. I mean, even if you don't see 2005 as partially a fluke, you have to admit that a lot of things just went right that year. It's fair to say you don't think that the Indians are going to keep it up, but I think completely counting them out is a little ridiculous. they won 69 games last year, 65 the year before that.. now they are all of the sudden going to win 100 with essentially the same team? I don't buy it, and history would tend to agree with Cleveland sliding back eventually here.. If they are on a 100 win pace at the All Star break, then we can crown em'
  12. White Sox Stolen Bases: 20 White Sox Caught Stealing: 23 Opponents Stolen Bases: 41 Opponents Caught Stealing: 6 That deserves a hardy LOL Also this is funny too White Sox: .250/.315/.384/.699 Opponents: .254/.315/.384/.699
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) We're not going to actually DFA him...but you can pick people up off the scrap heap for the league minimum who will perform better than him. No one's trading anything for him. I think we can lay off Pierre for a little bit, hes at .261/.322 right now which is nothing special, I know, but his OBP is around .350 for May so far which is encouraging.. Who exactly can be picked up off the scrap heap and put into the leadoff spot for us tomorrow? Adam Dunn deserves way more haters than Pierre.. At least Pierre has been somewhat productive, Dunn has been miserable for his standards and its really crippled us so far..
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 22, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) What did Byrd do to deserve a fastball to the face? hes a cub
  15. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ May 22, 2011 -> 11:41 PM) I'm still confident going forward. We needed to steal 1 of 2 in Miami, we still have game 4 to make that happen. They're close to figuring it out against Miami, and once they do this is our series. 1-1 series, the team who wins game 3 wins the series 75% of the time.. its gonna be tough for them
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) Well bulls, you've been saying you were the underdog. Now you've convinced everyone. Bulls lose game 4 and this series ends in 5 and the heat succeed in their bs title. How is it a BS title? Because none of them wanted to go to the Bulls?
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Dude the officials aren't deciding this. The bulls need stops now. oops, I meant the officiating is NOT deciding this game.. my typo
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 22, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) when the refs wait til the ball hits the rim to blow the whistle, that's a problem. And I agree, but the Bulls have been outplayed tonight.. Especially on an off night from LeBron and Wade.. the officiating is deciding this game even though the Bulls are making a mini comeback right now
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 22, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) The officiating has me very close to swearing off NBA basketball. stop making excuses Steve, the Bulls are just getting outplayed right now
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2011 -> 09:27 PM) I still say looking only at the loss column is nuts. Those makeup games will be really tough on Cleveland. They're going to lose their rest for most of the 2nd half. Yeah I know, who cares about where we are back of the loss column right now.. worry about that in August and September.. right now they need to focus on 1. Getting back to .500 and 2. passing who is immediately in front of them.. They cant be worried about catching just Cleveland right now, that's a good way to lose focus on what needs to be done..
  21. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 22, 2011 -> 02:14 AM) What were the interesting trade possibilities again? None. We are 2 out of moving into 2nd, and were on a pretty nice hot streak right now. Considering the horrendous start we got off to, it looks like we've started to pull our head out of our ass..
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 22, 2011 -> 12:05 AM) Hopinks middleweight champ at 46. Great fight. Hey we dont care about that s*** in here!
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 21, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) This is a Kalapse-quality post. Jordan's advanced metrics are flat out stunning. The guy averaged 20 win shares during the 90s almost every season. LeBron and Kobe have NOTHING on him. Kobe topped out at around 15 and LeBron has yet to sustain near 20 win share numbers. That opportunity is also out the window since he's got two good scorers around him as well. LeBron is closer to Jordan than Kobe is
