  1. Seems pretty obvious to me they signed Clevinger to try and salvage an atrocious start. He was available to all other teams for little commitment and no one wanted him.
  2. I see we are going into yet another game with Andrew Vaughn batting 4th and Benintendi batting 5th.
  3. Maybe, but I’m pretty sure if this team won 81 games last year instead of 61 the same guys would still be here in charge.
  4. My preference is they lose every game. Even if there’s only a small chance total embarrassment forces changes, I’ll take it. There’s way too many lousy and unlikeable players on this team, maybe things will change at the end of July.
  5. Obviously I meant the players with value.
  6. These guys are such trash, they better be trading everyone.
  7. This is not what it said. They didn’t say it “shouldn’t” have been called they just said the umpires do have discretion. The umpire said after the game the rule is its interference whether intentional or not, and the rule does support that. MLB just said they can make a judgement call not that it was a blown call.
  8. I cant speak for the high school and beyond level, but there is absolutely pitch count rules in little league that we are required to follow.
  9. Well considering the manager just recently came out and called him a pillar of this team, I would imagine not anytime soon.
  10. Yeah, his BB% and K% are both looking nice.
  11. Yeah but what does Sports Guy have to say about it, that’s the only Os opinion I care about
  12. I think everyone but Maldonado is out OPSing the pillar
  13. I’m glad that happened, was worried they were going to come back and win but like clockwork the Vaughn/Benintendi combo ended all hope
  14. The longer this goes on the more I believe this was the plan all along and they don’t care what happens this season.
  15. I can live with that. Vaughn has put up 0.1 bWAR in almost 3.5 seasons, hes pretty much as valuable as Courtney Hawkins anyways.
  16. Yeah and im not trying to say that guys like Vaughn and Madrigal had no business being picked where they were, its no secret our player development hasnt been that great. If im running a draft, im not interested in Andrew Vaughn or Nick Madrigal. I don't want to draft a 1B or 2B, ill spend money in free agency on that. I go balls to the wall on premium positions. SS, CF, SP. Every draft, every time.
  17. A new voice with a different approach would be worth the change if it meant winning 60 games instead of 45. I don't know how you can justify it being pointless. There is a difference between making a change and finishing the season improved as opposed to batting the worst player in baseball 5th every night and winning ~50 games.
  18. I think it has more to do with the profile of player that was drafted as opposed to the actual draft position. When I see them take low ceiling college players, yeah, not surprised they didn't work out. Now look at guys like Montgomery and Schultz who rapidly ascended the top 100 prospect lists. We take a Jacob Gonzalez, probably to try and once again fast track a draftee to an MLB sore spot (2B). I see people clamoring for Colt Emerson in a Robert trade to Seattle. They could have just drafted him instead of Gonzalez. I know this is hindsight, but if you aren't drafting high upside toolsy players, you're not going to get high upside toolsy players. Like an Andrew Vaughn/Nick Madrigal/Jacob Gonzalez will never turn into a 5 tool player. They may become decent to good MLB players, but they aren't going to just turn into some superstar.
  19. By definition, yeah that’s not accurate but I’m pretty sure he meant he’s from the white Sox “family”
  20. These guys are going to get killed against Baltimore
  21. Beni had that diving catch the other day, he’s earned it
  22. I was just coming to comment on that, holy hell its going to take a miracle to win this one.
  23. He probably is going to be good, but again, were talking about 11 starts here and have no idea how hes going to hold up under a starters workload. I would personally trade him either in the off-season or by next deadline. That's a tough decision when you're talking about a 25 year old SP that's performing but this roster is so devoid of talent its going to take several years to even get back to being a .500 club and by that time you are going to be losing him anyways. This is also under the assumption that the White Sox will not be able to meet/want to pay what it would cost to extend Crochet if he is indeed one of the better SP in baseball. I can't imagine he takes a sweetheart deal here, he already bet on himself with this SP move hes probably going to be looking to cash in on that success.
