QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) KW got us Peavy, Danks, Floyd, Quentin, Rios, Ramirez, A.J., and Thornton among others. I don't think we're in the position to be b****ing about his job performance. Especially, in a season where he gave Ozzie most of the say over how the offseason went. Its not KWs job to take orders from Ozzie, it doesn't matter if he got everyone Ozzie wanted its still gonna be his fault as well because his job is to get the players weather they are the players he wants or the players the manager told him he wants..

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) I'm sorry. You can sugar coat it all you want, say "Well its early" or "Its still cold, wait until it warms up"...but the fact remains, this is one of the most inept, badly thrown together offensive lineups that we've seen in a long time. The additions in the off season make no sense at all for this 2010 team. Come on now, there's no way they hit under .200 all season.. its just not going to happen..

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) KW has to be concerned. Good teams don't lose all these games at home in April when everybody is rusty. .500 would be a bad enough homestand much less this crap. If our offense was just average there is a good chance we are 5-0 Im not going to stamp this as a bad team just yet, mainly because I think its impossible for the offense to continue to be as bad as its started.. theres just no way it can stay that way, right?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) I think he knows very well, and has for a while now, that this team needs a bat. But I think he's going to let them fail for a while to make it a point to Ozzie that the team he wants also is a team that sucks. he HAS to know, otherwise he a complete fool whether we get that bat or not, well see but if he dicks around for too long it will be a complete waste because we will be so far out of it, it wont matter..

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) I would love to know what KW is thinking right now. I wonder if he's starting to worry, or if he still thinks it's early. I wonder what his back up plans are. If it stays this bad, does he blow half the team up? Im sure KW realizes its been 5 games, and is fine right now.. Now, in a month or so things may be different there..

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) I know you didn't, you said they were about the same. No I didnt.. The original poster said something along the lines of we could have solved this problem with #25 and all I said was yeah because hes doing so much better.. You pretty much mistook what I was saying, which was neither of them are doing anything special right now anyways..

QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) I've got MLB Extra Innings here in California.... They aren't showing the game in the schedule? This is my first time subscribing to this service - what gives, why aren't they carrying the game?? Yeah I was gonna watch it as well, and it wasn't there.. Pretty big let down..

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:22 PM) Exactly. It's nice to see them taking close pitches, but that only goes so far. When you're getting good pitches to hit and you're fouling them off or grounding out, something is wrong. It seems like almost every good pitch they are getting is fouled off or grounded right to someone so far..

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:19 PM) The Sox are second in MLB in BB with 24. The approach hasn't been that bad. Just because they aren't swinging at bad pitches doesn't necessarily mean they aren't taking the right approach at the ones they are swinging at.. if that makes any sense..

QUOTE (SockMe @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:50 PM) were only 1.5 games out of 1st place! uhh no we aren't

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:50 PM) Definitely, but we've been seeing the same thing from Ramirez since he came here. And it may very well always be like that with him, and wont matter where he plays on the field..
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) It's frustrating because the offense has seemed to pick up right where it left off last season. In fact, it feels like it's been the same offense since the downturn in 2006. Agreed, but its still just 4 games so far and while its definitely justifiable to be upset with it, its not time to throw in the towel on a 162 game season 4 games in...

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) He'd probably be great (at least very good) if it weren't for the mental lapses. The problem, though, is that he seems to be a real idiot. I don't mean that in the generic sense. I really think he's a very stupid person and that he can't be taught to focus more. Well to be fair, there have been a lot of stupid people that have been very good at sports..

4 games is a VERY small sample size for what the season offers If this is the same crap after this first month, ill step out onto the ledge too ill edit in the starting pitching has been great so far and the games close, at least were not gettin trounced like the Astros.. if you wanna see a really bad team with nothing, watch one of their games..
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) Can't we try to switch Beckham and Ramirez? You can hate on Ramirez mental lapses all you want but you have to face it the guy looks amazing there sometimes, thats more than likely the reason they elected to keep him there over Beckham Beckham prolly doesnt make the same mistakes, but you might also not get the same plays
-
too much over reaction.. Ramirez more than likely cost us this game with his mental mistakes.. maybe we still dont win if he doesnt have those 2 errors, but ide like to think otherwise..
