  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:22 PM) Of course they are. I'm merely not understanding what makes the vikings close victories more superior than the saints...and how the saints beating a 5-0 team in convincing, convincing fashion is not enough to, at this marker, say they've been the best in the league. Because its not all about the scores, that's what you don't get.. If the Saints passing attack isn't working, like what happened a few weeks ago, except its not against a horses*** team like Buffalo, I have ZERO confidence in the Saints running game to win them games against playoff teams. There are still questions about their defense as well. Yeah, they've looked better, but well see. The Vikings can run the ball, they can throw the ball. They can stop the run, they can get to the quarterback. As an overall team, the Vikings are better. If you wanna go style points, fine, the Saints are soooo flashy. Overall team, no way the Saints are better.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) Yeah, and so was Warren Sapp, who I know is no genius, but that's beyond the point. The point is that they were what, 5-0, 6-1? Whatever. The Vikings are 5-0 and you're declaring them the best team. What's the difference? BRETT FAVRE IS DUDE!!!!!1 Right? And yeah, I'm 13. I'm pretty sure the whole NFL forum here is ripping your knowledge, maybe you're 12. Yes, this Vikings team is completely comparable to last years Bills team. You are right. And im actually 8.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) Yeah, but we'll just be back to you not accepting the Saints being the best. They'll completely dominate, but it will be against such a crappy team that it won't mean much. lol, right.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:13 PM) I think we can all agree that the Miami Dolphins suck. Yeah well guess who the Saints play next week. Well see how great they are next Sunday.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) I'm ridiculing you for your unsubstantiated argument that the vikes are the best team after these 6 games. You had no argument for the Saints being better. Tell me exactly how they are better than the Vikings, please. I already gave you plenty of examples, you have given NONE.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) Sorry, I can't understand your argument. I never said that they wouldn't win the game, but maybe you just can't read. So let me try this: IF U R A GOOD TEAM U CANT LET TEAMS BACK IN THE GAME AT YOUR OWN STADIUM Get it now? Oh please, you're the same fool who was touting the Bills as legit AFC contenders last season. Im fairly certain you are 13-14 years old and have literally no clue what you are talking about. Anything you say to me, I will just ignore because I have never seen anything logical about sports come from any post you have ever made here.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) That was my original argument? What's your excuse for the vaunted vikings D? I don't need to make any excuse for them, whats your point?
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) There probably isn't a defense that has given as many long pass plays as the ravens. Yeah, here come the excuses.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:04 PM) It doesn't matter. Why can't you understand this? If you're the best team in football, you don't let teams come back and almost win in your own stadium. Period. Do you see teams getting back in the game against the Saints or Colts? Im sorry I cant hear you over the chants of BRETT!!!! BRETT!!! BRETT!!!
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) what's the score TRU? Is the game over, I cant see the time from where I am sitting?? No time right??
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) Congrats, the vikings barely beat, at home, a 49ers team having to rely on Shaun Hill. 2 can play that game. The 49ers are just as good as the Jets record wise, so I don't get what your trying to do there aside from make your OMG THE SAINTS WON WITH DEFENSE AGAINST THE SUPER JETS argument mean nothing..
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) Percey Harvin's shoulder is messed up again. That's what you get for arguing about how superior they are Like I care, im not a Vikings fan. Ide personally rather see the Bears win the division.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) so like when they beat the jets and the defense stepped up to win the game? Your views come off as this... vikes need a miracle (in sports standards) pass to beat the niners at home and it's an example of how good they are with favre... saints play a ferocious jets D that was hot at the time, and their D gets three interceptions but because their offense didn't score forty it's a sign that their offense isn't good enough to win every game. It's ridiculous Congratulations, the saints defense picked off a rookie QB 3 times. And im tired of hearing about the Jets defense. They have FOUR SACKS TOTAL THROUGH 5 GAMES!!! There were different factors that went into the mystery of the Jets "vaunted" defense. Its overblown. Theres just no way you could convince me right now the Saints are better than the Vikes.
  14. Oh I might as well add that not only does Minnesota have a better defense than New Orleans, but Brett Favre and Drew Brees have produced exactly the same so far this year. The difference is, Minnesota has the best runner in the NFL and can beat you either way where I dont feel the same about New Orleans. So please explain what makes New Orleans better, its not the D. Its not Brees the stats prove otherwise, it isn't their run game. Please, esplain.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) Do you guys not watch the saints? Do you realize the ravens have an offensively bad passing D that made the chiefs look like a good offense? Now, then, the saints are destroying a giants team that is considered one of the best in the league. Their offense, which was your guys' argument about why they're not as good as the vikings, because they don't score 50 pts a game while giving up a comparable amt of points to the vikings, is now easily going up and down against the Giants D? You've yet to give a good argument against the saints being worse, and now they are beating one of the best teams in the league and are still worse. If you wanna go that route.. Washington Dallas Tampa Bay Oakland Kansas City Those are the teams the Giants beat before todays game, maybe the Giants just aren't any good? The difference is when the pass isn't there I have zero confidence in the Saints running game to beat a playoff caliber team where as I have no questions about Minnesotas offense in that regard.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 01:32 PM) So...anyone still want to argue that the saints are the best team right now? Yes, Minnesota is the best team right now.
  17. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 08:22 PM) This gives the bears the best DE rotation in all of football. Now we have Ogun's replacement. How so? You act like you just traded for a pro bowler. He was traded because he has been underachieving for his draft status. Now im not saying he isnt any good, but, its not like you just traded for some dominant DE. nvm, I see that it was a 2nd round pick. Hopefully they can get more out of him than Tampa did.
  18. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 08:49 PM) You being a Dolphins fan doesnt mean your on the sideline and at film sessions and know whats going on, you just read articles like the rest of us do. Pennington is no different than any other veteran QB the Dolphins would have had if they didnt have him. And by coaching I obviously meant actual coaches and even than talent and players around you are bigger factors in a QB's success. No I am not there, but I have access to people who ARE there and various other sources of information. Like I said, you aren't a fan nor follow them, so I wouldn't expect you to know or understand it.
  19. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 05:49 AM) I really think that statement is over-rated in the NFL, a QB is going to be good because of his talents, coaching, and the team around him. The affect of watching another QB play for a season and giving him pointers is going to be minimal. Unless Henne had a maturity issue, drug issue, etc. that Pennington helped him get over he had little to do with the development of Henne. Not too mention, if Pennington wasnt there they would have some other veteran QB on the team giving him advice anyways. That isn't overrated at all. Chad Pennington is a pure professional through and through. You are trying to tell me that sitting behind Pennington and going through film with him and soaking as much as you can from one of the most accurate and smartest QBs in the league doesn't really matter? It was more than just getting "advice". And it was more than just watching him play too. You also say that a QB is going to be good because of coaching. Well Pennington was like a really good QB coach for Henne so that pretty much bunks your statement that Pennington had little do with it. Plus, you aren't a Dolphins fan you don't follow them, you don't know whats going on. I do. And I can tell you, Pennington was a big part of his development.
  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) Carl is happy. Indeed I am. Also, whats with the Pennington hate? You know he finished second in the MVP voting last season right? QB rating of 97? You guys act like he was some over the hill scrub who was holding Henne back or something. If it wasn't for Chad Pennington Henne might not be where he is right now in his development as an NFL QB.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 01:10 PM) Thanks for the info. I remember when friends and I went to see Blair Witch down in the city, cuz it wasn't released yet. We wanted to se elike the 2pm show on a Sunday and all the shows were sold out til 8pm. So we hung out downtown until then. It sounds like what I would expect. I remember how everyone said Blair Witch was like the scariest movie ever and one of my friends sisters was so scared she couldn't sleep and all that and when I saw it I was very disappointed in how not scary it was. The ending was the best part, getting there however was meh to me.
  22. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 05:44 PM) I think it's time for some of the naysayers to put Denver in the conversation for best team of the year thus far. Why? Lemme know when they beat one of the top teams.. People need to get off New Englands nuts, their better days are behind them now and a horrible fumble and a wide open dropped pass is separating them from 3-2 and a very deserving 1-4
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) Derek Anderson is probably gonna finish 2 of 17 passing for 23 yards, yet Cleveland will probably win on a FG here at the end. This maybe the worst game ever. I don't know how that's even possible.. 2/17? That number is so horrible im having trouble grasping how its possible..
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 03:09 PM) The online needs some moderation, the cheaters make it no fun. I just dont get it, whats the damn point of not racing for 3 laps then doing whatever to make your kart jump to the end of the race? Isnt the racing the fun part? Nope, sadly cheating people is the fun part. Its like assholes on Call of Duty with modded controllers or lag switches.. its why people use glitches and other crap like that.. its not enough to just play the game and have fun, you gotta cheat the other players to truly enjoy it, it seems like..
