Plaxico Burress accidentally shoots himself in the leg

I wonder how his night started.... (Looking in the Mirror) Plaxico Burress: "Alright, I got my chain on.. my diamond earrings. My shoes match my belt. I am ready to hit the club.. Oh wait, lemme tuck my gun in my pants in case there is a shoot out." -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) so they should be content with their occasional piece of the pie and shut up. Ide think going undefeated and upsetting one of the bigger teams in a BCS bowl game would mean more to those schools than going undefeated getting the last spot in a playoff, and getting annihilated in round 1 -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) That's true, but when one lost by 6, another by 10, and a third by 45 or whatever it was, people will tend to forget the last one. They shouldn't though, because if it was by 1 or 100 its still a 3 way tie anyway you look at it -

QUOTE (rowandrules83 @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 01:40 PM) Boise State and Utah both did it a couple years ago AND won their BCS game. And they're both undefeated again this year. I know the standard argument is that "Well, they play in weaker conferences, so they would get killed in a title game", but the problem with the current system is that there's no way to definitely know that's true. Come on man, I don't care if they were undefeated AND won their bowl game.. So Boise State has to pull all their trick plays out of their ass to edge OU.. there is zero chance they can then go the next week and beat Florida, and then the next week and beat USC.. and so on It aint gonna happen, and all you do with a playoff in college football is pretty much come down to the same teams who would be fighting for a BCS spot anyways.. The reason teams like Utah and Boise State go undefeated and don't get a chance to play for a national title is because they don't play anyone in the regular season -

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 06:48 AM) The regular season is 100% meaningless unless various people and computers VOTE you into the championship game. College football - where you can win every game and not be a champion. Thats not true How many times has there been an undefeated team that wasn't in the title game? All I can think of is Auburn, and even then you cant really say the two teams who did go weren't deserving.. -
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) Exactly. For everyone on here I see saying they dont tip bartenders or at least dont tip them well, those are the guys who are waiting 20 minutes to get their beers at crowded bars. If you tip big early, not only do you get fast service, youre likely to get a free round or free shots sometimes. Are bars even like that anymore? I go out drinking a lot, and I have never had to wait 20 mins to get a beer.. Usually we have a waitress, and even when I do walk up to the bar it takes max 2 minutes.. And for the record, I have never seen ANYONE get a free round or free shots for tipping..

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 11:13 PM) The cold wouldn't matter to Brees as much as the snow and wind IMO. We saw today that Brees can be thrown off with poor weather (he only completed about 50 percent of his passes and had 3 picks in the Tampa rain), so I think who wins the Bears/Saints game might be in large part decided by mother nature. I think that has a little more to do with Tampas defense, but the weather im sure effected it some -

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 10:51 PM) In my world, there will never be a true national champion until a playoff system is in place... like... say... every other sport and every other division of college football. Who was the best team in the NFL last season? It wasn't the Giants At least in College Football the regular season is must win every week.. I don't wanna see some 8-4 team get hot in a playoff, I like it the way it is.. the regular season and who you play means everything -
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) What I think he is saying is that people develop reputations for being good or bad tippers, and the drivers respond accordingly. I always delivered my food on time and a good portion of the time early(unless I came back and stuff was out of control and already late by the time I walked in the back door), but if I had a route of tickets in my hand, the guys who arent tipping go to the back of the list. Their food will be hot, but it wont be "just got out of the oven" hot. Now, this is only me Im talking about. I knew plenty of drivers who were absolute jerks and didnt care, and they would let the food get cold. I never did that, but Im not gonna say it didnt happen Yeah, the food is always hot even if it takes an hour and a half to get to its destination.. I have no idea how they would have let it get cold, the only way that can happen is by taking it out of the bag and letting it sit for a WHILE.. but I dont ever do that kind of stuff, and when I say they wont get a speedy delivery I just simply mean im not getting in my car and getting to their house as fast as I can.. Im in no hurry if its a familiar address that is known for not tipping.. We even type "No Tip" on the tickets so when they order in the future the driver can see right away not to expect anything..

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 06:39 PM) I just wanted to point out the irony in these two posts here... Haha, yeah they sound like they clash but I will explain.. When its legit busy, it can take up to 45 mins to an hour to get people their pizza.. when that happens, they want to act like I went out of my way to take forever to get them their food which isn't the case at all.. When I have to take three deliveries at once, its going to be a while before the third person gets their food.. Its not my fault, its just real busy and they aren't the only ones ordering a pizza.. Now when im working on like a Wednesday afternoon and the same non tipping address comes up and I have to take it, im not saying I sit around for an hour and then take it.. however, I will stop at the gas station and get an energy drink.. maybe I will take the long way there so I can listen to something on the radio.. maybe im hungry and I want to drive through McDonalds.. I will do other things first on my way there before going straight there

Turns out, it wasn't even the worst collapse by a Chicago team at the metrodome this year. Really? They are down 10 at the half and were only winning 7-3 anyways.. this is hardly a collapse -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) As much as I don't like Mack Brown. That argument is just flawed. OOC schedule shouldn't have ANY bearing on a conference champion. Texas played a tougher conference schedule this year and beat OU head to head. It's silly that OU got the nod in the end, but I'm enjoyin watching UT fans b**** and moan. It has to determine it.. Texas beat Oklahoma, Texas Tech beat Texas, and Oklahoma beat Texas Tech.. they all finished 11-1 (7-1) Theres really no other way you can determine it except whoever has the most impressive resume when the regular season is over.. Even if Texas Tech got creamed by OU, its not fair to put them out of it due to that because they are still tied with the other 2 teams regardless.. If it wasn't a three way tie and Texas beats Tech, then we dont even have to have this discussion because Texas would be going.. but that didn't happen, and this was the only other way to determine it.. let the best overall team advance, and they did I agree that non conference shouldn't decide the conference champ, however, what else could they have done? -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 08:42 PM) Texas Tech was embarrassed on national television 8 days ago, that's why they are out of this. If they wanted to be in the discussion, they should have continue to convincingly beat Texas instead of letting them back into the game and almost letting them win the game for that matter. I put "raw deal" in quotes because I am aware not everybody agrees with me. I think people that continue to ignore Texas' win over Oklahoma on a neutral field are taking crazy pills, but this is a matter of opinion and people aren't going to agree. If Florida wins, they might get screwed by the computer and Texas could have got a break not having to play this weekend at this rate though, that's the life of the "computers" being in control. Sorry, but that's just not good enough It doesn't matter if Texas Tech was embarrassed 8 days ago.. they still beat Texas in a game they DOMINATED until the final minutes when they came right down the field and won regardless.. If Texas Tech getting embarrassed doesn't matter then Texas win on a neutral field doesn't matter either.. It was a three way tie, and the team with the more impressive resume won out in the end. And you're kidding yourself if you think Florida beating Alabama next week wont vault them into the title game.. I see no way it doesn't happen, regardless of what they are looking at right now.. LSU wasn't anywhere near the title game last season, and when the final BCS came out winning the SEC sent them from what, 7th I think, to the title game. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) That is a very good point actually. I get the feeling the SOS boost of beating Alabama combined with the poll boost and being a 12-1 SEC Champion would be enough to get Florida into the title game, but the computer nerds would know better than I would. If Florida wins Saturday and STILL doesn't end up in the top 2, the hell that would come from the SEC and Florida people would be incredible, and understandably so because that would make the "raw deal" Texas got today look like nothing. yeah Texas got a raw deal.. gimme a break I feel like everyone is taking crazy pills TEXAS TECH BEAT TEXAS.. why the hell isn't there an outcry that Tech should be in front of Texas?????? You know why Oklahoma finished ahead of Texas? Because they beat #11 TCU and #13 Cincinnati non conference while Texas was beating up on Rice, Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, and UTEP The computers got it right, the point of the BCS is to put the best overall teams in order based on more things than just "Oh well we beat them, so we should be ahead of them".. Oklahomas 11-1 season was just more impressive than Texas' 11-1 season and THATS why they are the Big 12 South champs and playing next Saturday -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 27, 2008 -> 03:27 AM) Our AD is denying it, but I'm pretty damn sure Kiffin has been offered the job. I'm think they're just waiting until after the season (especially with Philip Fulmer appreciation day being this Saturday against Kentucky) to announce it, and technically, Kiffin has to accept the job. Though, that's said to be a given. He is reportedly trying to fill a coaching staff, so when he's announced as the coach, they'll already be able to announce some of the new coaches as well. Ed Orgeron could possibly be his D-Coordinator and recruiting coordinator. While he would be phenomenal as a recruiter, I'm not sure about him being a Defensive Coordinator, but oh well... we'll see. If he would take a job as the D-Line coach and Recruiting Coordinator, that would be fantastic b/c he's a very good position coach. I just don't know if he can run an entire defense. David Reaves (Kiffin's brother-in-law) is also rumored to be a candidate as offensive coordinator (even though Kiffin would call the plays still). Reaves is currently the Recruiting Coordinator and QB Coach at South Carolina. If Kiffin (a great recruiter himself) brings in those guys as coaches, it looks like Tennessee could have the beginnings of one of the best recruiting staffs in the country. However, the big question is can they coach? Recruiting only brings you so far... Btw, Ken Norton Jr (the current LB coach at USC) is also rumored to be a candidate as the defensive coordinator at UT. But, this is obviously just speculation at this point. Just thought I'd throw out some of the possibilities... ESPN.com says Monte Kiffin is leaving Tampa Bay to join the Tennessee staff Looks like that's gonna be your D Coordinator -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 02:28 AM) Schedule in conference, in terms of strength, goes to Texas. Unlike OU, they had to play Mizzou, the best North team, and they both played the same south teams obviously. Now, OU did for sure play a tougher out of conference schedule, I'll admit that. There is no perfect way to seperate the three teams. I start by throwing Tech out because they were stomped into the ground in their loss. Then you get to Texas and OU, and to me this is a Texas vs. OU argument. They played on a neutral field, and Texas won. To be honest, I think OU is a better football team and certainly more impressive even with that in mind, but you can't argue with the results of their game on a neutral site. I think I lose you by throwing Texas Tech out, but I'm sorry, if you get beat by 50 or whatever it was, you lose in a 3 team argument in my opinion, even if you beat Texas on a miracle play to end the game in Lubbock. No, you can definitely throw Tech out the window because they did get annihilated by OU.. I just don't agree that Texas fans have a right to complain when OU passes them because if you asked them "Well should Texas Tech be moved from their spot in front of you because they beat you?" they would say hell no. Mizzou is ok, I wouldn't hold that over OU's head.. but the wins against TCU and Cincy are looking pretty damn good for Oklahoma right now and are going to help them push past Texas tomorrow most likely. Texas had to hold on to beat Oklahoma State in Austin.. Oklahoma went TO Stillwater and really stuck it to OK St (Yes, I know the score was somewhat "close" but if you watched the game there was really no chance that OK St could stop them.) And finally, I wouldn't say that Texas Tech beat Texas with a miracle play.. they were in field goal range and I believe it was only like 42 yard FG.. for some reason they chose to keep throwing instead of kick it, and that's why it seemed like a miracle play. If Leech wasn't such an oddball coach, anyone else would have kicked the FG and the story would of been how Texas got beat.. that didn't happen, and now the only thing that comes out of Texas supporters mouths is "We lost on the last play of the game with 1 second left" Like that's suppose to justify the loss and make it look like a fluke which is far from it. Texas Tech virtually owned that entire game until 2 mins left in the game. And even then, they still went right down the field and scored to win. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 01:07 AM) Texas should still CLEARLY be in the Big 12 Title game, but I think Oklahoma and Florida are the two best teams in America right now so if OU comes out on top tomorrow in the BCS, I guess the prospect of a potential Florida/OU title game is fun. It's a shame USC lost that Oregon State game though, their defense is as good as I can remember seeing. How should Texas clearly be in the Big 12 title game? They lost to Texas Tech, Oklahoma RIPPED Texas Tech.. After tomorrow, Oklahoma will have beaten 3 top 12 teams ide imagine (Depending where Cincy ends up) If Texas "clearly" deserves to go to the Big 12 Title game, why doesn't Texas Tech clearly deserve to go? They beat Texas.. Im tired of hearing all the Texas fans crying about how since they beat Oklahoma they should be ahead of them in the polls.. Uh, well Tech beat you so why don't they get to be in front of you in the polls? Because that's not how it works, and at the end of the day ide say Oklahoma is a much more impressive team than Texas. Throw out the Big 12 opponents because they have to play them anyway and OU beat 2 10 win teams Non Conference who could end up being top 10 teams when the season is over. -

Impossible IMO Once Florida beats Alabama in the SEC Title Game, they are going to pass up whoever doesn't go to the BIG 12 title game anyways.. And if Alabama wins, its gonna be whoever wins the Big 12 title game unless that team loses to Missouri which could leave the door open for the team who DIDN'T make the Big 12 title game.. Instead of making this a ridiculous scenario, lets just hop the computers get it right and we end up seeing Florida VS Oklahoma in what should be a fantastic game to watch.. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 29, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) Watching (so to speak) on the Internet, it's like a freaking pinball game. I turned away from the computer for one second....OSU has a return for a touchdown. Bradford's rolling up and down the field like German Panzer tanks through Poland. With all the hype coming into today, most of the games were very boring, with the exceptions of GA/GT and KS/Missouri. I guess this game, if OU wins it, will leave a strong final impression in Bradford's favor...if only the OU defense can get a stop. It's going to be interesting to see which Missouri team shows up next week for the B12 Championship game. Start your arguments here....Texas or Oklahoma? My dad went to OU, so I'm not unbiased. I'm just happy because my Hawkeyes righted their sinking ship and OU got back into the NC picture after losing to TX. But I'm still not counting my chickens until they beat Missouri. I think there are still some scenarios where OU and TEX could play in the NC game if the other team made the champ. game and lost or didn't look very convincing in winning, correct? Its OU and there shouldn't even be an argument about it In terms of what team deserves to be there, its the Sooners.. They've beaten.. #7 11-1 Texas Tech #12 9-3 Oklahoma State #14 10-2 TCU #16 10-2 Cincinnati Their lone loss came against Texas of course in a close game.. I think with all things considered Oklahoma is clearly a better team than Texas and has played a tougher schedule and should be ahead of UT in the next BCS poll.. they have scored 52+ points in EIGHT games this year, ridiculous -

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 29, 2008 -> 09:17 AM) Coming from an ex-delivery driver, I agree with everything you just said. I had one lunch shift that I delivered an $88 order to a birthday party and got a big fat $0, the next delivery was $140, and I got about 2 bucks, and an hour later I delivered another $100 order and got nothing. At the end of my shift, I looked at my total delivery amount and calculated the percentage of tips I got and came up with 3.6 percent. To say I was furious would be a massive understatement. And I understand some people dont have the money to tip and blah blah blah. All I ever asked for was civility, and some people are just complete dicks about not tipping. the old 20 bucks for a $19.80 order and the "keep the change" mantra IS the most insulting thing you could do or say. My thought process is, if you have enough money to order pizza you have enough money to toss me a couple bucks.. You wouldn't be ordering pizza if $3 dollars for a tip is going to set you back.. And yeah, those huge orders with no tips are awful.. I HATE delivering orders that are 10+ large pizzas and then getting stiffed.. If you aren't gonna tip, just hand me the money and say thanks or just shut the door.. don't tell me "keep the change" because I don't even carry change on me and wouldn't give you any if you asked for it anyways (Coin change that is). I had someone ask me for their 27 cents back one time and I was just like "Uh, we don't carry actual change" and they said ok and let it be.
