QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) Just because Danny Richar pissed in your cheerios everday doesn't mean mine taste like piss too. Seriously, Richar hit f***ing .350 when he got to Charlotte last year; how can you say he sucks? And pissing in your cheerios doesn't count as a reason. If you eat cheerios with piss in it, does it still help lower your cholesterol?

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) Well he only had 5.5 sacks and 2 INT's, so he wasn't exactly a game changer on defense. JMHO though, you would have seen more of him than me. Of course not having a good NT, wouldn't have helped either. At least Ferguson will provide a decent stopgap, if he's got something left. He started slow, but that was because of his knee surgery he had in the offseason.. We had wayy too many injuries on defense.. We damn near lost half of the starters and had a bunch of scrubs playing for most of the second half of the season Ferguson is exactly a stopgap.. you might be rebuilding but you still need some players out there, he will be fine for a season or two I am not expecting him to be the focal point of the defense but he is our best option right now -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) Porter was what in his low 30's though, when you gave him that contract. I just don't like the idea of throwing that type of money around for an aging player, unless he's an absolute stud. You could argue that signing Porter to that type of deal, didn't allow Miami to fill holes elsewhere, and they obviously don't have a lot of depth. That doesn't really matter, you have to pay these days to get anyone even if they are in their early 30's I think Porter played well enough to earn the money he was given.. the only thing that would have been better is if everyone else played the same way -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:01 PM) The Porter signing was a terrible one in the 1st place by Randy Mueller. At least Pace is coming into his prime now. Guess Chris Long is back to being an option with the #1 pick now (and they'll probably keep Jason Taylor also). It wasn't terrible at all Miami was coming off a year where they had a top 5 defense in the league and adding a player like Porter was supposed to put them over the top.. The only reason it looks terrible now is because everyone got hurt, and they played bad and went 1-15.. at the time, it was a good move He still ended up being our best defender last season -

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 02:58 PM) Dolphins finally lose one...Pace signs with the Jets Wish we could have gotten him but thats more money than Joey Porter got and slightly more the Phins were offering.. saves us some more money though, and now I would expect Chris Long in the draft -

Miami apparently offered the 20 million in guaranteed money Calvin Pace was looking for so I would assume he will be signing soon.. If he does, I think that pretty much pencils in Jake Long as the #1 pick because I don't see why they would take Chris Long with the current signings and players already on the roster.. Still could be Matt Ryan, but it was reported today they like Beck so who knows -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) I've heard they'd move Carey back to RT if they drafted Jake Long. And that's probably the best idea IMHO. Carey would be better at RT, he's not exactly a dominant LT. If you draft Ryan, you're basically saying that the John Beck pick was a mistake, and Jeff Ireland liked him in last season's draft. That would have Parcells' influence all over it if they drafted Ryan instead. He was very underrated last year, he did a hell of a job at LT and should have been a pro bowler at RT the year before.. we cant really go wrong either way.. And yes, but the Beck pick was from a different regime so Matt Ryan is a strong possibility and it would be Parcells call there.. Beck is the starter right now, and they are going to bring in someone to compete with him.. McCown was signed to be the back up, that was reported earlier.. This tells me that Flacco, Ryan, or Henne will be drafted by Miami -

QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) Thomas Jones will be pissed. It'll be Cedric Benson all over again...except McFadden's actually good. Also, I can't see Miami taking Ryan if they want to give Beck another shot this year. Its between Ryan, Chris Long, and Jake Long We already have a pretty good LT in Vernon Carey.. I dunno if they would move him back to RT to take Jake Long Chris Long would play OLB most likely, and we have been signing a s*** load of LBers so far and we really need some ILBs most of all Matt Ryan is the prototype QB Parcells likes, so I dont know.. It doesnt really matter to me, ide welcome all 3 of them -

QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) The list of McFadden suitors is getting thinner. I would almost bet that a team who doesn't need him, drafts him. Like when Deuce McCallister was picked by NO after they had Ricky Williams, Reggie Bush after they had McCallister and Minny drafting Adrian Peterson after they had Chester Taylor. Ide say Oakland is looking like a good fit.. He wont slip past the Jets I would imagine Falcons looking like they'll be getting Matt Ryan if Miami doesn't take him -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) Raiding, haha you crack me up sometimes Shadows. Realistically, Ferguson's coming off a major surgery, he's old, and he probably doesn't have a whole lot left. You guys have certainly been active today though. Some good signings (Wilford and Pace if you get him), but some I don't really understand (Randy Starks getting $21M for example, although he can thank Al Davis for that). Yes raiding, I don't see how thats funny.. We took a lot of good coaches for you and Ferguson is a good 3-4 NT.. He is only 33 and yeah hes coming off surgery but so what, he cost us a 6th round pick.. Randy Starks isn't getting paid nearly as much as you make that seem.. He is only getting 7 million in guaranteed money on a 5 year deal.. I have no problem with that, he is a 6'3 315 lbs defensive end that is 24 years old. He will fit nicely into our new 3-4 -

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) just saw it elsewhere too s***, that sucks, the Bills were after him too. He's a pretty decent receiver Yeah hes a great fit in Miami, we needed a possession type receiver to play opposite of Ginn Apparently Calvin Pace has been signed as well and will be reported soon -

Free Agency hasn't even been active for a day and Miami is already making a flurry of moves so far they have signed WR Earnest Wilford ILB Reggie Torbor TE Sean Ryan DT Randy Starks RG Justin Smiley They are also reportedly about to sign OLB Calvin Pace to a pretty nice contract They also traded for NT Jason Ferguson and are showing interest in Michael Turner and Billy Volek couple that in with the fact they own the first pick and 2 second rounders, and could possibly look to deal Jason Taylor things are shaping up already -

Miami keeps raiding Dallas They pick up Jason Ferguson for a swap of 6th rounders this year and a 6th next year.. excellent pick up for our 3-4 NT -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 06:27 PM) Question for Bears fans. McFadden sounds as if he's got some serious character issues, and he's slipping. 6'1 211 running a 4.33 After what Adrian Peterson did last year I seriously doubt McFadden slips anywhere -
