  1. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 01:24 PM) Not really. Your argument is non-sensical and subjective. The teams played in different years, they played different teams and the teams had different season lengths. If the '85 Bears played the '72 Dolphins schedule, they probably would have run off 14 in a row too. I'm not trying to take anything away from that Dolphins team, but there are a lot of factors involved that you're ignoring just because you want to ignore them. Your argument is like that of a child--you have one decent point and nothing to back it up. I don't need to back anything up.. its all there in front of you the best TEAM of all time is the only one that went undefeated.. TEAM is the key word here, it doesn't matter if the 85 Bears individually had better players.. The 72' Dolphins TEAM went undefeated.. The 72' Dolphins don't make their own schedule, they don't decided to play 14 regular games, they don't have control over time -- sorry years pass and 85 came around nothing they could have done about it thats just life.. The greatest TEAM of all time went undefeated.. don't try to tell me teams haven't had the same luxury of getting an easy schedule.. last time I checked football was played before 72'
  2. QUOTE(danman31 @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) Mizzou-OU rerun on FSN (I believe nationally). I'm watching because I want to know what it looked like on tv since I was at the game and I want to see what matchups might be different and such. For those of you who haven't seen Mizzou other than the Kansas game it might be worth watching. It's the most Mizzou's offense has struggled all year and they still outgained OU and scored 31. Its not on Nationally.. Womens basketball here in Texas
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 11:30 PM) Iowa State has put one of the worst teams on the floor that I've seen. Johnson started and dropped 18, and we lose at home to UNI, 61-48. Horrible basketball. Not even fun to watch. Is there anything about Iowa State athletics that isn't terrible right now
  4. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) I just watched the end, so I didn't see much, but John Beck did look good on play action...the Dolphins receivers just seem pretty bad right now. The only one who has a chance to be a play maker is Ginn, and he's raw as hell. Ronnie Brown obviously is/was good, but who knows how he'll be next year when he comes back There's a bit of talent there, but that top 3 pick (in all likelyhood anyways) will be really nice for them...hell, the #1 pick would be outstanding. Beck looked pretty good for someone playing in their second game ever against the #1 defense on the road in the s***tiest conditions ever.. He isn't turning the ball over, which is something new to see from Miami QB's.. There were some dropped passes, but I think they will beat the Jets next week in Miami. And yes, they are pretty much going to be picking first which I don't really think is that good.. There is no one they could take number one that would drastically improve their team.. Glenn Dorsey maybe, but his knee problem is worrying me.. I hope someone gets a hard on for McFadden and they can possibly deal out of that pick.. if not, maybe they will just take McFadden pending Ronnie Browns status.. he might be out until mid season next year and may not even be the same player.. All I know is this has been a real tough year for them considering all the injuries, the close games, and the lack of breaks they have been getting..
  5. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) obviously praying for Sean Taylor...he hasn't been a model citizen, but that's just terrible. And Miami is really bad, but you have to wonder how good the Steelers are...they've scored like 16 points in the last 115 minutes against 2 of the 3 worst teams in the AFC and possibly the NFL. (and yes TRU, I do recall that they killed the Bills) Miami isn't even really bad.. they are just normal bad.. this is now game 6 they have lost by three points They have just had way too many injuries and zero luck on their side.. but Beck has looked good, would love to see him get to play in a game that wasn't the s***tiest conditions ever
  6. QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) So Michigan wouldn't be an option? If it comes to money, the Rose Bowl will pick Michigan. LOL Michigan Get out of here with that trash
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 12:08 PM) Did you pay for this information? Maybe it was just the WWE TV audio going over the top of the actual audience audio. For whatever reason, it seemed that the crowd quieted very quickly Yeah, watching the video they did seem to quiet at some parts.. but then again they seemed real loud at parts too.. I bet next time he comes out he gets a huge pop
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 11:17 AM) 100 percent agreed. The crowd pop was decent, but it would have reached deafening if it had taken place elsewhere. Jericho looked really pumped up, but the intro lasted too long because the crowd didnt last as long as they should have. LOL at Jericho calling Orton robotic and boring For what its worth A guy at Wrestlezone who was there said it was deafening when Jericho came out..
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) he also RKOed Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly after they finished their match. Except it was one of those badass RKO's like at the 2007 Rumble.. He RKO'd Rhodes and then started to talk, and then he stopped and kind of looked to the side and noticed Holly slowly getting up so he dropped the mic and RKO'd him and then picked up where he left of.. it was great. Jericho also looks better than I thought he was going to. Good to have him back.
  10. haha, Orton is great tonight.. I love the RKO's out of nowhere And I am assuming Jericho is gonna interrupt his ceremony.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) The only reason I want this game to still go on is if Buffalo gets some cheap shots in. No s*** Im just waiting for someone to take their shot at New England and their gay ass go for it on 4th down while up 4 touchdowns
  12. Hooray! After his first two kick return touchdowns were called back, Ginn takes a punt back against the Eagles.. and whats even better is that they finally put Beck in and hes getting the ball to Ginn as a receiver too, something Lemon and Green weren't doing.
  13. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 08:56 AM) four-star tight end hubie graham picks illinois this is crazy because none of the services even list him as considering illinois. he had offers from florida, georgia tech, michigan, and ucla among others. Not according to Rivals
  14. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 17, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) I hope KU beats the piss out of Mizzou. Same here And im pretty sure they will
  15. who cares? We are finally starting Beck, now it wont be as painful to see them fail to hang onto games they should have won
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) Who the hell are the idiots agreeing to games like these: Texas Tech at Sam Houston State I know UNC, unlike the other 3, was lucky to escape and live to tell their tale, but don't schedule games like that, ESPECIALLY in November!! Oh, and I can't top a quadruple double, but Justin Jonus of Troy scored 44 points in a 133-131 OT win. More impressive though is David Holston of Chicago State. The 5'8 guard scored 39 points on a mind boggling 11 of 13 from 3 point range and even had 7 dimes and 3 steals. Oh, and Raymar Morgan is a beast, another double double tonight with 13 points and 14 rebounds for Michigan State. We went to Tech last year, see no reason why they cant play fair and come to the J.. no one beats us non conference at home, they were toast coming in I only wish it hadn't been sold out so I could have sat behind Techs bench and razzed Bobby Knight
  17. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) Sam Houston State is a good team. Your home winning streak continues. Tech laid an egg on the FT line. Yeah, we returned some solid players and our lone star (Bright) is a player of the year candidate. Fresno State is coming here in 10 days, hope to keep our streak still going
  18. wooo hoooo were up 56-51 on Texas Tech with 43 seconds left!!
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 06:32 PM) Dominated....yes. I hope you were also joking when you posted that. No I wasn't joking.. Illinois abused the Ohio State defense all night, they only avg giving up what 65 yards.. I don't QUITE remember, but I think Illinois rushed for a wee bit more yards than 65. And the 4th quarter drive that iced it, where Ohio State couldn't stop a 3rd and long to save their life. I do think Illinois dominated that game. And the way OSU defense played the other games of this year compared to what Illinois did to them says enough.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) Ooo someone is a little sensitive. Pick up on the tongue in cheek manor that I posted. it certainly would have changed the score as Ill scored 7 right after. Lost by 7, would have been interesting to say the least. I dont need to get into it, but anyone watching that game was questioning some of the officiating. No, not sensitive.. just tired of seeing Ohio State fans use that as an excuse for why they lost when they were dominated the entire game. Yeah, it was a fumble. They missed it. If Ohio State was the superior team that play shouldn't have even mattered. However, if you were saying it in a joking manner, my bad.
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 04:18 PM) Ah what might have been..... Same Crew, same problems Agreed It was that play, 2 minutes into the game, which cost Ohio State.. most certainly
  22. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) As to the bowl selection - I understand the money aspect, but money and viewership can only take you so far. The bowl process has to have SOME legitimacy to it, otherwise why play the season if it always comes down to the amount of people that watch the game? Might as well pencil PSU, OSU and UM in the top bowls because 100k people watch their games live in person. And Soxbadger, no offense, cuz I know you think Wisky is the best team ever, but their following is just as big as Illinois, probably less. Wisky has had a good run for the last 3-4 years, so they've gotten more pub, but I would be willing to bet that more people would watch a good up and coming Illini team over a pre-season top 5 team that tanked. Ditto with Michigan (though obviously the initial size of the fan base is pretty large in comparison). On a national scene what looks more enticing: overrated teams or an unkown who just knocked off the "best defense ever (stupid ESPN analyst)" on their own turf? I guarantee you the bowl reps are praying that they can align a Florida/Illinois game. That'd get just as much pub as the NC game (as an aside, did you know that Zooks record at Florida is only one game worse than Meyer in the same amount of time? It's like 16-8 to 17-7 - obviously the NC helped, but so did getting a ridiculously talenting roster handed to you....but anyway). Well said.. I would think that with Illinois/OSU on ESPN the other day it probably opened some eyes that maybe weren't aware of whats going on in Illinois. I would think that the turn around from last year and the success that has been this season, a 9-3 Illinois team that just knocked off Ohio State in their own backyard would prolly be a nice draw.. Especially if they get paird with Florida.. 9-3 Florida VS 9-3 Illinois would be an awesome match up.. the score of that game could possibly be in the 40's for both teams.. they both run the spread and both have a mobile quarterback.. That would be a great game to watch However, this is based on us beating Northwestern
  23. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) Tru (Shadows) enjoys the Dolphins defeat of the Chicago Bears in 1985. Haha, I told you I was in Bears gear when I was a baby
  24. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) But you said the Dolphins team was better. Believe it or not, I'm not too shaken up over the Dolphins defeat of the Bears in 1985 when I was 2 years old. I know you are still loving it, weren't you a fetus at that point... a little fetus with a dolphins cap on? I don't know. How old are you? 23. OK, you were a baby with a Dolphin cap on. I do think the Dolphins team was better, they went undefeated.. no one else has.. They don't have control over the scheduling or the season length, thats just how it goes. Other teams have had easy schedules with shots at it, and no one else has been able to do it.. Thats fine if you think the 85 Bears were better, I wish Miami hadn't lost to NE so they could have played in the Super Bowl and beaten them yet again.. but thats not how it went down.. BUT, people debate this all the time.. I am obviously not gonna be swayed on my stance and neither are you.. so who cares
