  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) Do people on Soxtalk get to vote for the stipulation? I will use my creative control to remain champion. I still remember making Shadows tap out in the Alex Shelly Special #2 at the last PPV. Please, that was like the Montreal Screwjob part deux
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) TNA is brutal. Their belts mean nothing. My "Soxtalk World Heavyweight Championship" means more. I read on a free site that you are supposedly dropping that belt to The Critic at the next Soxtalk PPV.. I Don't know how credible that is however
  3. Chris Chambers traded to the Chargers for a 2nd round pick http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7340346 Ill take it, we need to get some more talent and have holes to fill.. the 2nd round pick helps, plus Chambers was making some good money and we took him in the 2nd anyways.. Hopefully well get to see more Ginn now
  4. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 13, 2007 -> 05:28 PM) I'm guessing today proved my point quite well thank you very much. Illinois, while improved is not that good. Michigan is nowhere near pathetic. That said, the game next week at Illinois scares me a bit, especially with Mike Hart hurting. Yeah you sure proved a point.. Iowa got a win, but I don't think they deserved it.. Zook made some real dumb decisions with those penalties on 3rd, Iowa got extremely lucky that an 81 yard TD got called back and after Illinois made it look easy with McGee to go straight down the field he pulled a Missouri and pretty much sealed the game for them.. I still think what you said was really pointless, but hey you're entitled to your opinion.. all I know is, Illinois is good. Being good doesn't mean you have to be a National Title Contender, but its looking likely that Illinois is going to end up with prolly 8 victories this year.. They have the best rushing attack in the Big 10 and the defense for the most part has done their job.. You have to give Mendenhall more than 18 touches though, and there were plenty of times they could have just pounded it with him instead of watching Juice try to make all the plays by himself, which usually resulted in a 2 yard run where he was gang tackled as the option man had a much better look.. Im not gonna get down about a 10-6 loss, on the road, that we lost because we played a sloppy game.. not because Iowa was the better team, and that, in time, will be fixed. Especially with the youth and depth this team has.. We played four very good games in a row including wins over two ranked teams there was bound to be a let up somewhere.. but college football this season has been like this pretty much every week, and I don't think I was out of line questioning you about why you thought Illinois was gonna lose, all things considered..
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 02:13 PM) Heh, they can very easily beat us, Im not worried about the Iowa game at all... assuming the players dont take them lightly we should come away with an easy W. But even though i feel we should beat Michigan, that is far from a guaranteed win. I wasnt saying that as an implied "We will beat Michigan".. but Michigan is just simply not good this year, and we have them at home.. hence a winable game
  6. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 08:28 PM) I'll go on record now... Illinois will NOT win its next two games. And why is that? Because your bitter Illinois beat Indiana? You're tired of seeing us be happy that our team is finally doing good? Just wondering why you would make that claim considering even Indiana crushed Iowa, in Iowa, and Michigan is beyond pathetic this year..
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) No disrespect to any Illini fans here, but I hope Iowa does win because I have a few friends who went to Illinois who are impossible to deal with right now. When Illinois beats Michigan, I'm in for a long week after. Fixed it for ya partna
  8. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) It wouldn't surprise me. Who has the Illini beat on the road? Syracuse? Besides one win over an incredibly overrated Louisville team, they aren't much to write home about. If this game were in Champaign, I would choose the Illini, but since it's in the IC, it's gonna be tough. REAL tough. Have you seen Iowa play this year? They are terrible.. I would be very surprised if Illinois lost this game. They just need to feed Mendenhall the ball and I don't think theyll have a problem
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 02:59 PM) Who is b***ing? YOU
  10. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 10:18 AM) I am... and you are very obviously a Miami homer who wears your heart on your sleeve. That's not a horrible thing, btw, but I stand by the fact that Marshawn Lynch > Ronnie Brown in talent. Well you're wrong, and I am willing to bet there isn't a team in the NFL that would take Lynch over Ronnie Brown
  11. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) I'll never get tired of that clip. As I've said before, that's the last WW(F)E show I attended, and Jericho's entrance was by far the highlight of the show. Jericho needs to come back YESTERDAY! That was my favorite moment at anytime during my WWE/F history.. As soon as it flashed Jericho and the crowd popped I went nuts, that was sick
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) Why is upsetting in quotes? This is the first time Illinois has been ranked in 6 years. Not exactly a perennial powerhouse Because Illinois is good and Penn State and Wisconsin were overrated
  13. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 06:07 PM) He's Canadian and trained in Hart's dungeon. Makes enough sense to me. Yeah but they wont latch something on with Jericho.. when he returns I am fairly certain he will be immediately thrown into the main event contention
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 05:41 PM) Or a return of the Hart Foundation led by Jericho. Again, that makes zero sense.. plus there have been talks that Bret Hart is open about being involved with bringing the new Hart foundation into WWE, which would be pretty sweet..
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 01:16 PM) http://www.washers.org/index.html is better. The people who live in the apartment two below us are always outside playing that game
  16. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) I am pretty sure there are alot of Illini fans voting on this poll. I did, too being a Illini fan, but just saying, its not really a great indicator. True, but I would venture to guess that there are more fans from the other teams voting than Illini fans.. But you are right this isnt the best indicator its still nice to see though
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) Apparently people are starting to notice Mendenhall: http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnatio...Id=35#topOfList Thats nice to see everyone thinks Mendenhall is the front runner for the Heisman thus far
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) Tell me why. I love how Ronnie Brown has three good weeks in three years and all of the sudden he's amazing. Marshawn Lynch is the real deal, Ronnie Brown is Cedric Benson with an offensive line. Ronnie Brown has been good every season, its laughable at best to say hes Cedric Benson with an offensive line when Miami has had a patchwork line for YEARS now.. As a rookie he carried the ball 207 times and SPLIT CARRIES with Ricky Williams, he still ran for over 900 yards and 4.4 ypc clip In his 2nd season he only played in 13 games due to injury YET rushed for over 1,000 yards while still only getting carries in the low 240's.. 4.2 ypc as well P.S. Miamis line is still mediocre at best at this point Season three, the offensive line is improved we have an offensive coach after a repetitive line of defensive minded guys.. hmm, Ronnie Brown is leading the league in yards from scrimmage AND toting a 5.1 ypc? Ronnie Brown has gotten better EVERY year, and now that we have someone who knows what they are doing with the offense he is playing at an elite level.. Wise up Steve, I thought you were more knowledgeable than this
  19. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) Despite Ronnie Brown's finally living up to the hype, I'd take Marshawn Lynch over him anyday. Lynch's top speed is just ridiculous and he definitely changes direction much better. Both teams blow and will blow for a few more years regardless, but give me Lynch over Brown. Thats just ridiculous
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 04:13 AM) You act like Miami is better lol, Buffalo isnt good at all no doubt.... but when compared to Miami I think I might give them the edge actually. Miami is better than Buffalo, but don't mistake me for trying to say that Miami is a good team right now.. There is nothing I like on Buffalo more than I do on Miami, I don't know why wite seems to think their future is so much brighter than Miamis.. We have the league leader in yards from scrimmage as the focal point of our offense which has been MUCH better this season than last season.. Were a rebuilding team with a rookie head coach, it wont come over night and even so the talent this team already has it wasn't crazy to think they could win 8-9-10 games this season but obviously thats not gonna happen.. but you're kidding yourself if you think Miami is terrible. We had chances to beat Washington in the season opener and just got the unfortunate draw of losing the coin toss in overtime, the Dallas game is very misleading we were winning that game going into the 4th quarter and we most likely would have won if Trent Green didn't s*** his pants, we lost against a division rival on the road by 3, we lost to Oakland because we couldn't stop the run and what a shock, Zach Thomas didn't play that game.. There is no way Oakland rushes for what they did with Zach on the field, and then Sunday we lose on a record setting day for a kicker.. theres not much you can do about that especially considering no one had ever made 3 54+ yard field goals in a game in the history of the NFL.. Yes Miami is 0-5, but they aren't getting blown away like the Bills are.. the same Bills who are practically dead last in the NFL in offense AND defense.. Miami has youth, the only people who think they are so old are the people who have no idea about the team.. We have plenty of young guys being worked into the defense and equally so on the offensive side of the ball.. And the coaching? Ha. How is Buffalos coaching better than Miamis? We have one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL coaching our team and turning what was usually a pathetic offense year in and out to a respectable group on the rise this year. Dom Capers is also a good defensive coordinator as well, we have the best offensive line coach in the league.. Im failing to see where Buffalo has the edge in any of this.. I wont argue with you though, you go ahead and think Buffalo has greener pastures in their future than Miami.. theres no way that your mind would change about this and thats fine, Buffalo is your team.
  21. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 11:47 AM) I'm not 100% convinced the 2nd Coming is for Jericho. I hope so, but the new Hart Foundation also fits those criteria. That would be incredibly lame if true, but so far all signs point to Y2J.. I just want him to back I dont care how they do it
  22. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 01:50 AM) I sure hope Miami wins a game this year. They will, they play Buffalo twice We can keep this up forever wite
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 10:36 PM) Please, no more DX! I marked a bit when HBK came out. Him vs. Orton would make my head explode with confusion as to who to pull for. Ill just assume youll make the correct choice
  24. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) Like by forcing a 5th turnover. I sure hope Buffalos game ball went to Tony Romo for keeping them in the game and preventing what surely would have been a blow out
